New God 180 Box Mod - 180 Watts

The biggest difference I can tell as I was playing devils advocate was with a DNA 30 vs one of my old Sigelei's its a smoother draw but chaning the taste I tested it last night with several and I think what they are actually meaning how the vapor is delivered...

Vamo's can rattlesnake. But this is due to the low 33hz frequency it operates at. Step up to something like a MVP 2.0 or better like evolve 20/30 device or chana 30 and you won't have it rattlesnaking anymore because they operate at a higher frequency. I've never tasted a diference though. Pretty sure that's just a myth perpetrated by people putting down vamos and the like.

Evolv chips are DC-DC..but I can't distinguish the difference between high frequency RMS DC and DC..

I've noticed differences in carto tanks between the two..I had a device that offered 33.3Hz and high frequency...it was above 600 Hz..not quite as fast a mvp or provari-pre3.

Not all PWM mods do it - thank goodness. It really depends on the quality of the PCB's design.
Almost all my mods are PWM , but only my Coolfire II rattles like a sumbitch. Annoying, but still perfectly functional though...

As for the PWM taste myth, look around on the other vaping site: there are pages after pages of posts from people who seriously claim each pulse "shocks" and burns the juice, and create a typical taste you don't get with buttery-smooth filtered DC :) It'd be funny if it wasn't pathetic.
never actually said anything about PWM affecting taste or hopping on that band wagon, I just don't prefer it with the style that I vape, sorry for having a preference haha.

haha I know right? I guess having an opinion or disliking something for a particular reason is grounds for getting an ear-full by some elitist who feels entitled to nitpick around for something to cause a stir over. ahhhh, the ignore button us a beautiful thing, ya'll.

The ignore button sucks.

I tried ignoring an older guy, probably had a provari for 4months..so it is the only thing. Everything else will blow up..mine does blow my face off..but that's beside the point.

If someone quotes him..I see it..and usually there is a spoiler button that shows the post.lol

I'm waiting for everything to come out... learned my lesson with IPV2..it's still working.. there's just some kinks with it.

I honestly think it's only between the IPV3 and smy god.. but logoless..jwrap with artwork from some hippie.

I'm not worried about yihi..they make solid chips..putting evolv in their unevolved place.

My touch sensor not working pisses me off though.

nothing to be afraid of, no one can vape at 180watts comfortably anyways. not with the old technology atomizers we have

how much is it? All I need is a box mod that doesn't exceed $100 and its output is up to 30w. Otherwise I should just get a GI2 and spend $200

Try the Dovpo E-MECH. Dual 18650 battery mod with a 30 watt max. Just make sure you get the most recent version without the Autobot logo, the alarm clock function and the flat base so you can stand it on end with an RBA on top.

Using one right now and I am digging it!

You should be able to find one for around $80

Honestly if you find it hard to use all 30 watts on other devices you don't even need to look at this box.

I have the ipv3 150 watt box. On most of my TANKS i stay below 30 watts. When i use one of my RDAs with low builds i jack it up.
For example... I have a .2 quad coil built on my tobh v3 (the 26650 size) and hit it between 100 and 150 on low nic. Please know, it isn't my daily/regular vape but it is nice to have the option. When buddies see me using it they always want to try 150. Guess it is just a curiosity thing.

Truth be told I was mostly attracted to the ipv3 because it looks nicer than ipv2 imo, it has a better 510, uses bigger/better screws, (and most importantly) it has two 18650 batteries.

BTW... I took it to a shop today to test it on a meter to see if it was accurate on wattage and voltage. I am not sure if i know what i am doing though. I got reading that were accurate on volts up to 7 (after that the box goes up to 8.5 but reads on a meter at 7).

Did you get a beta/demo version?

It has a 7 volt max...so as long as you tested 1-7 Volts under load (with a coil on mod), everything is peachy. Edit- maybe they left the range like that for firmware upgrades? I feel like those companies know something(P4U and relatives), like new technology- battery cells in particular.

I'm curious to how it acts at various resistances/loads, but I think I'll be getting one..I think it may get better battery life than the smy god, but it's just a theory..plus, like you, I dig the look of it..

But I wouldn't mind seeing a silver smy god in person before I decide..I like and dislike the kato-like look of it..

Nice video...finally.. I can understand everything said..:)

Really surprised at all the features involved with the menu..really awesome how you can change the cut-off time for 3-different ranges.

I guess I understand the two different modes..but I'd prefer to just press (+) or (-) to whatever range I want.

Nice test fire at 180 Watts..lol:)

I have doubts about the build quality on this device , i would need to get one in hand to check it out before i would take a chance with a pre order . I also want to know the warranty details on it .

What i'm looking for is a double battery powered 18650 device in the 30 to 50 watt range , i have zero interest in anything 100+ watts even if i don't intend to use it.

Check out what may be in the iPV4 , just a guess but who knows.

Just get a Dovpo E-MECH for about $70 and have done with it. I know it may look a little funky but trust me once you hold it in your own hands and use it you will love the sucker!

Ipv mini should be out soon.. that's a sexy one..

Or get an IPV3.. you have to build around 0.3 Ohms to get 150 Watts anyway...stupid.. I'd like the IPV3 with the sx330 version chip from the sigelei...but yeah..

Build it however you like... just don't use it at 150 Watts.

IMNSHO..I think IPV's are the best of the mods...after the first releases come out..lol. That sucks they fuck us over that do preorders, that pay for them to make them, and they make some bullshit box..fucking fucks.

Elev8vape will be getting them in soon.. I'll be posting a day or so before they get them in..when they email or call me with the update. $120..what I was told at least.. setting me a black one to the side.:)

I got a phone call the other day. I emailed them, explaining I can't afford $14 to have my IPV2 fixed.. so they called and they're sending me a new mod.

So no elev8vape hate from me.. preordered mod fucked up, and I get a new one? Awesomeness.

I didn't call. I emailed.. but it's true. Shit is rough at the beginning/end of month.. and lately, the whole month. Fucking utility company..

But yeah..I kept them up to date on the threads of them getting slandered on the forums for preorder bs..so maybe that helped. :)

^exactly. even the provari uses PWM. albeit it cycles at 800hz, so its undetectable by human senses, but its still PWM. now if you take a look at something like the vamo, that thing cycles at 33hz, and its very audible and very noticeable to the user. so yea, not all PWM chips are created equally.

What up bro, it's suspect..:)

Supposedly, the Vamo cycles down to 0.. while the zmax and other chips only cycle down less than a Volt or so..
dc5b272696305b8dbb723ccb879c18dc.jpg

This is the vape-pro..the peak is at 5 Volts. . I believe..over a year ago, and the high frequency picture didn't back up. I have this scope permanently now, so I will be evaluating what I can.

Looks like all sx chips are DC-DC..I haven't gotten a hold of a sx300 mod though..

I'm going to try to replicate the voltage spikes from the stupid 510 screw in the IPV 2 that causes random changes in resistance, via contact resistance of atty to mod..I can't wait to document what happens when the voltage spikes enough to severe 26awg wire.

I'm going to talk to an engineering firm close by...see if we can get a merger of a new technology that came out to the public on Tuesday with a higher power board.. although, I really don't use much more than 40 Watts..I believe in giving options.

Our high wattage chips need this new technology.

One thing does bother me. Not that it's proof yeah or neah that this God 180 uses PWM, but I actually can't find anything that's ever said it did. The one guy that posted that he "heard" it did offered no links that stated anything. I've watched the videos and PWM wasn't mentioned that I caught. So do we have any positive information that specifically states this is using PWM?

The original spec had it listed as "PMW"..lol..

I don't know if that's changed. It makes sense it would need to be a slower frequency with the boost and buck aspect of it at those higher wattages..I would think it would cost a bit more to have a DC-DC or high frequency with the regulator being efficient as possible/what they ended up with..but conjecture from my mind brain.:)

BigDaddyQ

That's just it, I don't even remember the original spec listing it as PWM. The first I saw of it was in this thread lol.

Sounds like we are all just guessing and drawing conjecture. On a different note, the iStick does use PWM as well as voltage calculation using mean instead of RMS. Apparently giving it a huge thumbs down from pbusardo. I have the iStick and I've noticed no problems that some people are reporting. Nor did I have any problems with a Vamo or a MVP or other mods that used PWM. I never noticed a rattlesnake sound or burnt tastes etc. So I've often wondered, why does PWM perform fairly well for some but not for others? Why do some people get burnt taste? I've seen posts of people using aspire 1.8 bvc coils that are getting burnt taste from the lowest setting the iStick can dish out ( around 3 volts mean.) But I'm running mine as high as 5 volts and getting good solid flavor every time. I run a kayfun on it at 4.5v with a 1.5 ohm coil. Maybe someone can explain what's going on.

the rattlesnake sound existed on my vamo. i used carto tanks at the time and man was a carto tank loud on a vamo. thing sounded like a baby rattle. but i quickly got into gennys while i still had the vamo, and the AGA-T was silent as a mouse. so, it really does depend on what exactly youre firing to determine if youll get the snake or not. also, higher wattage/amperage amplified the sound.

for the iStick, im willing to bet the particular atomizer used matters a lot too. also the wattage/amerage youre pulling. further, i wouldnt be surprised to hear that some iSticks are made better than others. i remember when the zmax first came out- loads of people were saying they ran hot. meaning, burning juice at "3v", and i use quotes because it was putting out more than what the screen said it was. however some folks reported that their zmax ran fine. personally i have never owned or even used one so i couldnt tell ya. also, ive heard reports that the iStick "breaks in" after a few charge cycles, leveling out the tendency for it to run hot. again, not sure because i dont own/use one. just re-reporting what has been said.
