I looked for a TFA specific thread and could not find one. If there is one and I missed it, someone please let me know.

We have threads for most DIY flavor brands, so I thought we should have a TFA one too.

I think that would be good, I have a bunch of TFA flavors that sounded good at the time I bought them, but now that I have actually started mixing I'm no longer so sure, ie the Hickory still sounds good; but with what? :)

With a tobacco? Or nut flavor? Just throwin' out ideas, I've never used it.

What I can say about TFAs that I've used is that I've gone WAY lower than the suggested % for usage and have been happy with those results. It's not my top choice in flavorings, though.

I think my original thought was bacon, but haven't heard anyone say anything good about anybody's bacon, decided to wait and try tobacco again after i have been mixing a little while, but the nuts sound interesting, thanks

Thunderball, what do you do with that root beer? I've tried it with no good results...

Love Root Beer and have been trying on and off for a year now to get a good one. This is the best Ive come up with so far.

The wintergreen gives it the suds on top.......the cream....well......its a tad of a Rootbeer float.

All TFA Flavors:

Rootbeer 15%
Sweet Cream 5%
Wintergreen 1.5%
PGA 1%

wow..

mine is normally like:

5-7% rootbeer
4% cola syrup
2% Bav Cream
1% wintergreen

and sometimes .5%-1% Cherry for the top
Ill give yours a try. I will try every Rootbeer recipie that I can find. Ive just never been completely happy with a root beer recipie. Are these all TFA flavors ?

My Version:

TFA Root Beer Float 10%
TFA Vanilla Swirl 2%
TFA Sweet Cream 1%

I thought it was pretty good but it's more root beer than float...
Helps to leave it steep for a week tho.

I have been a TFA user myself for a while although Ive branched out lately and am trying a bit of FA

Im looking to getting started in the diy juice and was wondering where can I get the flavors in the last set of pictures posted here? Thanks in advance for your help....

Agreed. For TFA single flavors, I find that 5% - 6% is plenty. I see a lot of folks saying that they use 15% for some of them, and that just seems outrageous to me. Obviously, taste varies... Significantly.

Just got in TFA'S new Vanilla Bean Gelato, imho it's one of the better (if not the best) vanilla flavors I've tried yet...and I have more vanilla flavors from different companies than I care to count. I like that it's pretty much clear as I hate those dark vanillas, and it has that nice true rich vanilla bean flavor...IMHO...worth checking out...:)

Work has kept me incredibly busy I have no idea where I displaced the entire month of August.
The boss has been trying to phase out capellas with other companies flavors so she's not spending $20/4oz on some things that are her best sellers - but comparing say flavors she gets from FW or TFA vs Capellas and keeping all juice the same price she was almost losing $ on some of the flavors she had made with capellas. So I've been trying to create clones of those few using TFA/FW/NF. So far I only have one left to create and I just ran out of time.

I have quite a collection of TFA. mainly use a lot of fruits and creams.

Want to explore some mints. Recently got red hot cinnamon. I mixed a little today. Plan to try the cinnamon tmwr.

There's a google spreadsheet that's great for reference with all sorts of tfa recipes or %.

For those that don't know , over at ECF there are a little over 200 recipes on the TFA recipe thread
Go towards the last posts and start going backwards and you will find a link to it that was compiled by a fellow named Paddymix

The link for the list is repeated over and over in that thread

I did. Meh. Just like most TFA bakery or grainy or bready flavors, it tastes NOTHING like its namesake.

It does, to an extent, but it's not so spot on that I can use it as a standalone and call it a day. Adding a few drops of AP per 10ml helps a bit, but it wasn't a saver. I tried their Donut flavor as well - for me, it was a bomb. I think the Donut flavor is just one of those that isn't meant to be vaped or heated beyond making candy.

I had to try REALLY hard to pick out anything discernably "rice" or "crunchy". I mainly just tasted like a weird semi-malty syrup.

I was vaping at around .5 ohms, single micro-coil when I tried it. I got a little taste, but nothing that made me jump up and down. The heat most likely didn't help (it didn't come off as a sub-ohm flavor, like some).

Yeah I was around that res when I tried it standalone.
I tried to make some rice krispies treats with it. Miserable failure.

All I really use for now is TFA, some good ones too, but this thread has a little too much bashing to be encouraging or useful to me. Not what i expected at all. :-/

Yeah I was hoping it'd turn just for the noobs that end up purchasing from wizard and need help with what they bought. Rather than hear "buy something else" ,ya know?

I use some TFA, some Caps, some INW, and a lot of FA. There ARE some great TFA flavors, but out if the hundred + I've bought, most were lackluster, or outright stinkers. I'm just frustrated with them. I spent a lot of $ trying their line, and maybe 15-20% are good enough to use regularly. It's a crap shoot with them. More often than not, the flavor tastes nothing like the name on the bottle. Or, if it does, it's weird. I'll compile a list of what I've found to be good.

I'm not bashing TFA, they have some stellar flavors and they have some not so stellar; the same can be said of any vendor. I like some FlavourArt, Capella, Inawera and Hangsen flavors and I also dislike some as well. Taste is subjective. What I like, you may not. What you like, I may not. All we can do is share our likes and dislikes with each other. At the end of the day, it's up to you, or whoever reads this thread, to make a decision and choose what may be best for you.

Flavors are much like usage percentages. I may love TFA Strawberry Ripe at 15%. You may think that's too high and go with 7% (just an example). To you, 15% may be nasty, chemically, or just down right unable to be vaped. To me, it could be perfect and exactly where I want it. There's really no right or wrong.

If we happen to agree on something, great, if not, it's not the end of the world. We're just sharing our experiences and mine is based on sampling nearly ever flavor from TFA, Capella (including their new ones + v2's), Hangsen, Inawera, LorAnn, OneOnOne, FlavorWest and FlavourArt.

The only flavors I've not really tried much of are the tobacco flavors simply because I don't much care for them from any vendor. So I'm far from bashing :), but if it doesn't taste right to me, then I'm going to share that with others. I normally start at 1-5% and move up to 10% and in very rare circumstances, up to 15% if nothing else is working. So we're talking 10-20 samples per flavor and I sample it with Nicotine because I don't like vaping zero nic.

So ultimately, I'm going to give honest feedback. It may end up saving you some money in the long run if you take my advice. Then again, I could be wrong about something and you may love it and spend 10x more than you originally thought you would next time you order. That's just the nature of flavor chasing :).

That's very fair.

Sent from my stupid iPhone because I don't have an Android.

I try to be as fair as possible in my reviews or judgement of a flavor. Some of them I get for free (samples), the majority I pay for (98-99% of them to be honest). Whether free or paid, I'll give me honest thoughts on a flavor. I spend a lot on samples weekly and the majority are in bulk because I hate to buy a 15-30ml, like it and then have to reorder. I'd rather go in on 4-8oz as the price difference is normally minimal; maybe a few dollars.

At the end of the day, some, to me, are just not meant to be vaped while others are flavors I just can't get enough of and will continue to keep in my rotation (TFA's Strawberry Ripe just happens to be one of them :)).

In our experience, yes if at higher than 10%. I haven't tried it with lower percents yet, I only know as a couple shops here have it and yeah it cracks tanks. It also gunks up coils on drippers really really quickly.

Yeah I was hoping it'd turn just for the noobs that end up purchasing from wizard and need help with what they bought. Rather than hear "buy something else" ,ya know?

I still use several of my (around 100) TFA flavors. A few are irreplaceable. Several are very good flavors. The rest - I either don't care to vape that particular flavor (no matter what brand) or I've found a version I prefer made by someone else.

I think TFA is a difficult brand for a noob to start with. Starting with Flavor West, you can mix around 10-12% and make minor adjustments. With FlavourArt, around 3%. With Capellas, for me it was 8% or so. But with TFA, required percentages range more, from a fraction of 1% to 15%+. That's no biggie if you've mixed for a while, but it complicates flavor-mixing for a noob.

19 TFA flavors I can say good things about :):

*Absinthe: It's just star anise essential oil, and the same flavor as FA Anise, but TFA has a no-PG version. That's useful to max-VG vapers like myself.

*Acetyl Pyrazine 5% dilution: It's convenient to have it premixed, and I'm finding it surprisingly useful for recipes other than tobaccos

*Brown Sugar Extra: Nobody else makes one, and it's great for bakery recipes.

Caramel Cappuccino: It contains custard notes, and you'll either love or hate the flavor. It can be used at such a tiny percentage (1 drop per 10ml+ is not uncommon) that it's useful for anyone trying to minimize flavoring or PG while still getting plenty of flavor. Halo fans will recognize it as the sweet, carmel-coffee part of Twisted Java.

Cheesecake Graham Crust: Cheesecake and graham (and a tiny hint of coconut) with no custard note ingredients. Tasty base for cheesecake recipes.

*Cinnamon Red Hots: The tastiest hot candy cinnamon, in my opinion - and available in a no-PG version.

Earl Grey: Very good flavor-match for the real thing.

Green Tea: tastes just like green tea.

*Holiday Spice: I use it for nutmeg flavor. It does the job for me, though it requires a glass tank.

*Hpno: Crisp, grapefruity-citrus flavor, available without PG.

Kentucky Bourbon: The only American whiskey flavoring that's vapeable, in my opinion. (for Irish Whiskey, I use FA)

Key Lime: tastes like the name.

*Koolada: for a cool exhale without menthol flavor.

Maraschino Cherry: Mine is no-PG, but I think it uses PG now. Extremely strong, but just like those neon-red bottles of cherries.

*Molasses: mild molasses flavor. It has custard notes, but it's the only molasses flavoring I know of, and it's an accurate flavor.

Mountain Dew (Citrus Punch?): has been renamed a time or two, but it's the best Mt. Dew flavoring out there. A pretty good match for the real pop.

Pistachio Clear: I believe this was formerly listed as containing custard notes ingredients; now it looks like it's awaiting (re?)testing. It's a pretty darned good match for the flavor of that green ice cream.

RY4 Double: So Tribeca-like, lots of fans for this one.

White Chocolate: Nobody else's is anywhere near this good, but it has custard note ingredients.

* = ones I still use - some standalone, some for recipes. These are the ones I make sure to keep in stock.

I love their pear flavor. I mix it at 5-6%. I also like 4% pear, 2% green apple.

Grape Jolly Rancher mixed with Black Cherry is delicious. I haven't nailed down my favorite ratio yet, but I've liked them all.

Butterscotch - this one was awful by its lonesome. I tried 4% butterscotch and 2% Strawberry Ripe and it is the perfect yellow wrapper candy butterscotch. I can not taste the Strawberry in the mix. The BS has custard notes.

I'll vote for these:

Banana Nut Bread
Blueberry Wild
Brown Sugar Extra
Caramel (original)
Cinnamon Danish
Cheesecake Graham Crust
Coconut Extra (strong)
Coconut Candy
French Vanilla (fair)
Graham Cracker Clear
Orange Cream
Marshmallow
Pineapple (fair)
Ripe Banana
Root Beer Float (good root beer flavor but not much float, I usually add some Vanilla/s)
Sweet Cream
Vanilla Cupcake
Vanilla Swirl (one of the better TFA Vanillas IMO)

Buttery Nipple (not too bad)
Butterscotch 10%
Irish Cream 5%
Caramel (original) 2% (optional)
(Just a starting point)
(Basically a 2-1 ratio)

Some have "custard notes"

Don't bother with Bubblegum, it just isn't right...
