I hope their quality control has gotten better on the coils. Had nothing but problems so far. Of all 13 geniune coils I've tried in my Nautilus, only about 2 or 3 of them performed as expected. The others either wicked too much and flooded or not enough and got horrible dry hits.

Just watched GrimmGreen's video on this also. Could be the most positive review I have ever seen him do. He is in love with it.
Just got a mini and put the spare coil in my regular Nautilus. First impression: Really nasty flavor for the first 1/4 tank, then the flavor came in and the nasty flavor went away. This happened with both the mini and the regular Nautilus. I was worried at first, but I guess I just have to burn off whatever residue is in the filler... not sure, but the flavor is great now and at 15watts the vapor production is very Very good. Eigate really needs to address whatever residue causes the nasty taste at first, but other than that it is a really good vape. Now I just have to see if I get decent longevity out of these coils.

Just got mine in and it didn't do to well with a high VG blend then I switched it over to 70PG & almost vaped the whole bottle. Where is all this flavor coming from? This is exactly what I've been waiting for. I'm not sure if you get the same flavor from the bigger one if you switch out the coils to BVC however this mini version is getting reordered.

That's interesting and somewhat reassuring that yours had a nasty taste as well. I had gotten mine from VaporDNA the day they were available and had no issues so highly recommended it to a friend as his first tank. He kept complaining about a weird metallic/burnt taste, but since there isn't any wick and the coils are pretty simplistic I was stumped. Luckily, it all worked itself out with a weekend-soak.
What is that residue I wonder? Oh, and he ordered his straight from Aspire if that makes any difference.
For me there is no burnt or metallic taste, but similar to fresh silica wick. Not exactly like silica, but that's the closest thing I can think of. It's been great since then and a week in it's still great with the same coil. I'm even more impressed now that I see the coils are lasting well.
I have to admit I just about gave up on the Nautilus I just got some 1.6 ohm BVC's in and a nice metal tank even though in theory these BVC's are nothing more than a dual coil micro Carto I have to admit for going out and on the run it really is nice I have not had a dry hit on the BVC's yet and I am running this 1.6 ohm and 25 watts give or take depending on juices... It is not my primary but it is my new primary for going out and about
Yep and they take alot of watts just like a good dual coil carto

Yea, my personal Nautilus Mini has honestly only impressed me. Even though I have been running it on my iTaste VV at 10w, it is more than capable of handling 20w on my DNA. For a clearomizer that's nuts!
Hands down, I honestly do not recommend any other (non-rebuildable) tank to new vapers. Are there other well-functioning, cheaper alternatives to the Nautilus family? Hell yea! But seriously, there is like some kind of sorcery going on over there at Aspire.
Not sorcery my friend some things just cannot be improved many times when I am sitting at home I will just fire up a good ole dual coil Carto and thats what the BVC coils are I agree that for a new vaper they are impressive easy and hell of alot easier than dealing with many carto tanks and the Flavor is pretty good

did you wash the tank before using?
after filling did you let the tank sit for a few minutes before vaping, to ensure coil was saturated?
i havent run into any problems with the nautilus or the mini and it makes me feel bad when someone has a negative experience...

I have a hard time believing that you just did not get a bad coil I put a new 1.6 ohm BVC in my Nautilus and had no issues at all.. change the coil
Yeah Damwow it actually makes the Nautilus worth keeping I bit and got the coils just to see if I wanted to even Keep the Nautilus but I like it now its great

We changed the coil, trust me that's where I went first.
Because, like, it's not complicated at all. Power -> Coil (heat) -> Vapor. Not many things to troubleshoot ya know? It was like the weirdest thing, and since it wasn't my 'Mini I probably didn't tinker around with it as much as I should have. Regardless, it works awesome for him now, and is a helluva sweet device.
I bet it was machine oil that was in the Stainless steel I had that happen a few times the best thing for that is Dawn it will get that grease out or its possible it could have just been Aliens

In my case it was certainly not machine oil since I had the same thing in both my new mini and the old big Nautilus. It was something in the coil itself, and like I said as soon as I ran a bit of juice through it the odd taste went away and the vape and flavor has been well beyond any expectations I had. These coils obviate the need for me to rebuild coils any longer. My advice? Just get a pack and enjoy a whole new clearo experience. The price at 101vape is 12.99 for a 5 pack and with some searching you can find them for 10.95 a 5 pack. Not really pricey at all considering they will last quite a while. Even if you just go to a local vape shop and pay 3.50 for just 1 to try it's worth it. Truly amazing transformation of the original Nautilus.
I've only run about 20 mil through my first coil and its holding up really well. Best clearo to date, imho -- but it sure could be prettier.
I think I saw where they are coming out with a metal and glass tank. Can't remember where I saw that.
And y'all need to stop or I am gonna cave and try one. I didn't like the original Nautilus at all. In fact I grew to really not like any of the Aspire BCD's. Sounds like they did something right on these.

What the hell, spend 3.00 and get 1 coil and give it a try. Since you got the tank you might as well invest a couple of bucks and see if you can get some value out of a tank that just sits in the junk box. Worst case... you'll get 3.00 worth of being able to bad mouth the new coils, best case, you'll have a tank that surprises you that was previously junk.
My two Nautilus have been long gone for a while. I was set on carto tanks being my on the go tanks. But I am very tempted to give one of these a try. I will wait to find a killer deal probably.
I just got the mini BVC nautilus the other day - it really surprised me with such a good flavor. I use RDAs exclusively (on a Reo), and nothing has ever come close, except the Fogger. Even the Kayfun was a disappointment! But this is quite good - good enough that I'm going to buy more coils and may get a big one to use with the bvc coils! Note, however, I'm using it on my Provari (1.8 ohm coil), and I have to crank up the volts as far as it will go to get the flavor. I tried it on a standard ego and it was awful. I've never been able to turn anything up that high without burning, so that's impressive alone!

Yea I thought the same thing, now if I could get the damn mega aero tank to work! Lol
The Aerotanks work OK for me, but anything over 9.5 watts will burn the wicks and taste nasty from then on. I resorted to using the old style coils that I rebuild so I can get a better vape out of them and it is much better that way for me. But they just don't compare to the Nautilus with the new coils though, and I don't have to rebuild these. Until Kanger comes out with a better coil design (and I'm sure they will) I'll stick with the Nautilus. I think it's great for us vapers reaping the rewards the battle between Kanger and Aspire. It seems every new innovation from either company pushes the other to new levels. So hurray for all us vapers.

Well my first coil is done it tastes like a burnt cartomizer. I started Sunday and yesterday flavor just dropped off big time. I'm wondering if these can these be cleaned or boiled. Either way I'm holding on to it in case someone comes up with a rebuild video. The vape until then was excellent. I mean I put 10ml thru that thing at least. They'll probably last a few days longer once I can get over how good my juice tastes now. Gotta go order some new coils & maybe a second mini.

I just started using my (full-size) Nautilus a few days ago, so let's see how they compare!
Is it just me, or do people vape more using larger tanks? I went from about 2-3mL/day to 5-6mL/day!

I don't vape as much as I did in the beginning, lol! But I don't know if I vape more with bigger tanks, but I sure like filling them less often!

rinse it under running tap water, shake excess water out, fill with eliquid, vape through the water/liquid, enjoy...

I have been letting mine soak in water for a few days, then rinse and let dry. You do get a little more life out of them.

Question: Are you supposed to dry-fire BVCs before using? I did, and now I'm getting a horrible burnt taste (after "priming").
Any tips and/or trick with BVCs?

Sorry, I've been vaping for 100 days, but I really don't know much about coils other than that they need to be replaced from time to time. I've never dry-fired before, and never had this taste before. I'm sure it's my fault.

You do not want to dry burn an Aspire coil. You probably cooked that one. The best way when you put a new coil in, is to let it soak for a few minutes, and then take a couple dry hits. Dry hit is hitting it like normal, but with out hitting the battery button. That makes sure you have the pressure in the tank.

I don't know what made me do that this time. I never have before. I think, somewhere in the back of my mind, I'd heard of people doing that, but that may only be for rebuildables.
Taste is starting to come back in this coil, so I'll give it just a little bit more, then change it if it still taste burnt.
I normally do exactly as you described.
