about the time it came out I was hanging with a bunch of genny users who were making their own porous ceramic wicks over at ECF, and alot of them were trying to mod ceramic wicks for the tiafun they loved that fucking atty...

it is an awesome flavor machine, the bridge wick was tricky the first time I did it, but lik everything it becomes old hat and to me it still is at the top of the food chain for flavor.

I agree. Everything in moderation. On the bright side, I inhale 5ml a day and some are inhaling 30ml a day so I know I shouldn't need to worry as much until the high volume vapers start tipping over. :p
I certainly blow clouds but it's not my goal, just enjoyment. I miss the tickle in my throat and I can get it on a MTL or from a nice big thick cloud. It's better with that big cloud. Even with that I'm at about 8-10ml a day. I satisfy myself then let the thing sit there.

The showing off with a cloud thing is certainly interesting to me, in that it makes no sense at all and I'm sure it will die off sooner or later. I had a funny situation the other day, I vape in my car but I keep the windows closed so I'm not blowing clouds out the window. This guy rolled up beside me the other day at a stoplight, pulled out his setup and blew a big cloud out the window, I honestly thought his car had went up, well the guy is just looking over at me as if he was showing off. I sat there confused for a second then started laughing. I honestly wish no one could see the vapor I produce, I enjoy playing with it for my own enjoyment, I enjoy the experience of taking it in and expelling it. But, the idea that it's something to be proud of is something I can't really comprehend.

I guess one of the things that kept me from getting to enamoured of the BF tank atomizers was that the tended to vape cooler than a genny..I have to say that a couple of us built porous ceramic wicks for our kayfuns and it as a pretty impressive vape...but on the coolish side.....I guess the vaper having to travel up the chimeny just cools it down...

right but they all have nano kits now and especially on a taifun that makes a great warm vape
I do like a kf4 but the kf 3.1 and lite were just not all that

Oh when I go to the shop I blow clouds with the rest of them, that's what the place is for, lol
I'm referring to a normal every day coffee shop with an outdoor deck for "smokers" except now its foggers.lol
Its nice to see more mods than cigarettes mind you, but I only would like to see more awareness on how it looks to those that dont vape and are walking by with kids, babies.... It really makes those people are anyone with a mod in a bad light.
The shops I go into aren't foggy, probably because they have the air handlers set to max speed. The local watering hole's here use to allow vaping inside until the shit heads blew it by blasting clouds in the bar. People didn't give a shit if someone vaped, they did when the bar turned into a cloud bank.

I think younger dudes are always gonna be into clouds just for the competitive aspect of it. What that says about them psychologically, I'm not even gonna touch on. I think that's just how some people are wired. Some folks just like to push things to the limit with their hobbies. There's a crowd like that for every hobby. If only for that reason alone, cloud-chasing will never be a passing fad in vaping. What will be constantly growing and changing is how people get their clouds. There is a rather large subsection of vapers to whom cloud-chasing will never stop being fun. They're always going to put a lot of time and effort into their chases. It's a source of pride for them because they put a lot of time and effort into it.

And then, there will probably always be new vapers wanting to chuck clouds simply because the whole concept is completely foreign to them. It's exciting and fascinating to learn about. There's an almost mystical quality to the aesthetic of it. It's definitely ridiculous, but if somebody quits smoking because they want to learn to toss the biggest clouds ever, then that's not exactly a bad thing, though whether or not it's in good taste is up for debate. I maintain that if it's something that keeps them into vaping for long enough to fully make the switch, then more power to them.

I dunno, what I think some of yall are seeing as a declining interest in cloud-chasing is actually more a sign of its normalization within vaping culture. Cloud-chasing isn't going away. It just isn't new anymore, so people who don't do it don't care as much about it. That doesn't mean that it doesn't continue to hold a certain charm for certain groups.

Personally, I've found myself caring less about vapor production and more about things like temperature, draw, texture, and flavor over the years. But I still run setups that produce a lot of vapor. I have for a long time, now. It just turns out that's the kind of vape I really enjoy, so that's what I gravitate towards. I like a loose, deep draw with lots of chewy, warm, and tasty vapor. I like to exhale very slowly and savor it. My default setup is a shorty RDA fitted with dual claptons on a series mod. The large amounts of vapor that this type of set-up puts off are an afterthought for me. I like it for the specific qualities of the vape, not the amount of vapor it puts off. I don't sit and think to myself how I'm going to maximize vapor production. It just sort of works out that way. I don't see that changing any time soon.

As far as clouds in public go, I think we all ought to try to be considerate. Most people don't care about your clouds - they don't want stuff you're expelling from your internal organs in their faces. My philosophy is that if it would be rude to smoke there, then its even more rude to fog-out there. I don't recall having trouble waiting for the right opportunity to light up a smoke. I don't see why vaping should be any different. Perhaps more cloud-chasers than we would expect operate like this and that is why you guys are seeing less of it in public. They can't all be rude, bro-magnun types, you know?

that's exacty what I mean... I think most of us that are hobbyists enjoy blowing heaviy clouds at times, but a certain level of respect to the general public has to be had. vaping etiquette

He's one of those people who, if I was conversing with in real life, I would either back away slowly from or just run like hell.

Like having a conversation with everybody's best bud Donald Trump: you end up scratching your head and saying "surely you can't be serious?" or "let's see some facts", but he just keeps adding more bullshit to the heap he's standing in.

Unlike Trump he does occasionally have something insightful to say, but then it's right back to the knuckle-dragging cock measuring contest.

I thought I asked you to save your advice for more desrving and sympathtic souls? See the thing is that you guys who love to suck on limp wicks forget or don't know that there are other ways of vaping....there are no limp wick set ups that can deliver the quality of flavor a genny with a SSmesh wick can....and none can begin to touch the quality of flavor a porous ceramic wick in a genny...these types of attys and wicks don't blow huge clouds they deliver stellar flavor cloud size and flavor don't go hand in hand. please in future restrain yourself from communicating with me.....it always makes me feel like I need a shower afterwards.

Or a cigarette? There are other options. :)

You're pretty good at antagonizing and name calling. Not so good at staying on topic. Why pick fights when there are people here who will help you quit smoking?

Well I think you're right I think the sub ohm tanks with their massive airflow and ability to soak a wick will maked cloud chasing the norm...it used to be you had to know how to build to cloud chase, and at least you could admire a cloud chasers skill in coil building to get those results, now any guy off the street can blow those kinds of clouds knowing nothing....

Generally speaking- in my opinion, that does make vaping lose a little bit of its magic.
Like that jack ass yesterday "oh you're still on a that." "you really need to get a tank like this, this is where its at".
First of all what is "it"
Secondly, I enjoy building. Sure like everyone I have a subohm tank, nothing against them, they are pretty damn nice, especially if you want to be able to easily have a reliable vape when you're out and about and busy all day. Being able to just swap out a coil definitely has its plusses.
building an rta has an art to it for me. I like being able to fine tune my vape. But I get it, building isn't for everyone.

yeah I really like building ...but then I'm a craftsman for a living....but even though I'm pretty much a total genhead, I own three or four drippers firstly for testing juices but also because i really like building all the trick wires and coils...love all the claptons think they were a real step up for dripping.....but I'd go and suffer through rip trippers hillbilly antics to learn new builds because it was fun to try them out. and at the end of the day your builds can tweak your vape in a way no amount of DNAs and 100w mods can.

Yes, I've definitely earned it. I remember back in 2010 when I was vaping a Boge Leo that was producing bigger clouds than my eGo. I jumped right into rebuildables the first day they were released. I spent lots of money trying to find that perfect vape. Today, people don't have to go through what I had to do. I think they're lucky. I believe the vaping industry has done a great job to let the customer decide how big they want their cloud. I enjoy seeing vapers on the street. Being eGo's or 200 watt box mod's. :)

I know a few people that used to be fiends of coil building dripper constant battery changing unregulated box mod users, but none of them build or drip anymore. They all have tanks and TC regulated boxes, and a bunch of RDAs and unregulated box mods stored away that never get used.

I don't know there things money can't buy....and one of them is knowledge you have to put in the time and the brains to get it period.....and the knowldge of how a coil works how to tweak it and how to build a coil to get a particular vape....you can't buy a five pack of that....you can go anywhere now with a couple of coils of wire and a pocket full of cotton or mesh and get a stellar vape even if the slow boat to china crashes and burns....you were forced to learn..I think you were the lucky one.

Right! But they LEARNED, and were forced to learn how to vape safely!!!
The newer kids getting into it just slap and go then want to know why its burnt, or why it blew up. They never tool the time to learn the math. Or battery safety; because, they didn't have to.
And Il bet that the ones that used to cap on an RDA still go bad once in a while just for shits and squiggles.

no, not a real line it was just people who wanted to support and get first accsses to modders know what they were making a clearinghouse of modders from around the world..you get to see stuff you won't see other places..,,the snobbery works both ways...when I hung out over at ECF years ago...I had been vaping for close to a year and I saw an atty I wanted..it was 140.00......I bought it my first high end piece of kit, and alot of my buddies came unglued and lectured me for hours on what a waste of money it was and how I could have got the clone and blah blah blah...I thought fuck this so I kept a foot in both worlds....

Ok, so it is that vague. I don't judge lest ye be judged. I used nothing but clones the first year I was vaping. I was an unemployed middle aged college student on disability. So l, I learned to find quality clones and dealt with ecf douchebaggery if to wanted to go online. My first authentic was a graduation gift to myself.

Cloud-chasing hasnt died because it is being sold to young people . There being Coned in to thinking it is a way to stand out . But all it is is a way to leech there hard earned money out of them invented by Big Vapor . and perpetuated by a shitload of vape shops that just want to sell them stuff .

I need clouds and lung hits to replicate the hookah experience. :) then again I also toked cigarettes, so my smoking experiences seem different than pulsevape's

I find that vaping satisfies my desire for flavor, clouds, and an overall sensual experience.

This reminds me of when I smoked cigs, I had a buddy that smoked fine cigars, but didn't inhale them. He would just swish the smoke around to taste the tobacco. I one day asked him "What the fuck is the point in smoking if you don't inhale" The words of wisdom recited to me by that great man I would like to impart to the owner of this OP. "What the fuck do you care what I do?"

Why hasn't tootle-puffing just...died by now? I mean, sure other people may be into it, but it's not my thing. Whey do other people like it when I don't? It makes no sense to me when people like things I don't like...why do muscle car guys like to go fast in a straight line?

I tune import cars to carve canyons - shouldn't everyone realize that having a fast car that turns corners is more fun than a fast car that goes straight?

I'm answering the initial question with another question. Why are there people (including myself) still driving cars with big V8 engines, when there are electric, and hybrid engines? Cause it's fun! :)

Oh I'll answer that...the reason that people who don't like massive air draws and super sub -ohm builds is because......they are flavor junkies and cloud chasing attys and builds aren't the best set ups for flavor chasing....they do it because it is a style of vaping that is more reminisent of cigar or cigarette smoking...they do it because they find cotton is not the best wick for flavor and don't like using it, I even read about this vaper whose actually allergic to cotton......they don't cloud chase because they don't like the idea of consuming massive quanities of juice either for financial reasons or because they think it may be an uneccessary health risk.....those are some of the reasons.
