Question to the guys who know better than me.

I was just wondering if it's safe to run a 0.4ohm SS316L Triple Fused Clapton on a Mech Squonker. On Steamengine the power comes up to be 30.63Watts

Battery is a Sony VTC5A

I prefer a warmer vape but just a bit scared to build lower. Any advice?

Thanks!

With a Sony VTC5A, which is a 25A cell, you will not have any problems running a 0.4 Ohm coil. You will only be drawing 10.5A fresh off the charger. I run 0.28 Ohm fused Claptons using Samsung 25R5 which is a 20A cell. Your Sony's won't even get warm. Vape on.

That's good to know! Thanks.

When the vape is no more consistent it'll be time to change batts I suppose?

Ya'll been busy around here lately.

Prob already asleep but GL JL!!

I'm going to have some srs catching up to do on Sunday. I work 730 - 530 tomorrow then will immediately be heading out to Ruidoso for the Golden Aspen Bike Rally. If all goes well, I'll be back Sunday afternoon-ish.

I'm all packed up ready to go. Got the leathers dusted off (don't normally use em except for long trips). I'll be taking my Boxer w/Dead Rabbit and my TLF w/Nano. That way if something goes catastrophically wrong (all my shit gets wet) at least they will still vape. I pack everything inside ziploc bags or trash bags before I put em in a dry bag anyways. But never hurts to be safe.

They'll be giving away a new Harley this weekend so, WISH ME LUCK! If I won a new Harley I'd wind up selling my current scoot for a duel sport bike and some vape gear lol.

MS...quick question... I noticed a trend on some pictures on FB of people posting their Haku's...

View attachment 91662

That terminal bend bottom right...

View attachment 91663

and again...

Is the positive post just floating and able to be disassembled and why it turns like that? Similar to how the Goons posts sort of does the same thing?

thanks!

Don

EDIT: Seems more prevalent on the Cruiser being that the support/deck is milled back more...hmm

Hm.
I'd have to pop the cap off and look at mine, but here's a picture of the deck....
Mine is a phenom.
I think partly what you see is a shadow effect, but I never truly paid attention until now. I think I have 3 builds total in it lol.....
Maybe if you cranked on the hex grub trying to capture wire it could rotate a little.... maybe it's just a cruiser thing....

Edit: yep, what you're pointing out in the pic is a shadow effect that makes the tab look wonky.

I will probably have to pick one up. Majority of the folks that have them love them.

Yeah, I looked at that... but I dunno; the airflow looks pretty wide open to me... and TOP airflow? I just can't get excited about that; where the hell do you get the flavor from? There's just no way in hell that a top airflow passes air directly over the coil on the way to the mouth. Even side airflow makes the flavor much too diffuse, just too much air flying everywhere except where it really needs to go.

Andria

Normally a top airflow atty will still have the air holes positioned above the coil.
I've found them to be as good as side airflow if not better in some cases.
To be fair, I've never been a fan of bottom airflow and gave up on it very quickly.... it's a nightmare with squonking IMHO and probably gives me a skewed perspective on what has better flavor.
Best part about squonking and top airflow is that you REALLY have to oversquonk to get to the point of leaking.
Time to broaden your horizons... see what the fuss is on the squonking side of the fence.

List is going up Saturday at noon, 300 more units ready to go!
That will put them somewhere around 1,350 out in the wild, no signs of stopping.
Everyone who wants the Haku shall have one, it just might not be for a hot minute!
If you're in the group be sure to get on the lists! And good luck!

Is IJoy reputable enough to give this mod a shot?

Anthony Vapes reported the same problem with the Captain PD270 that I found. The resistance reading is so bad it doesn't just ruin the TC, it goes from anemic to scorching cotton in watt mode as well.

I'll definitely be letting the reviewers and the community get their hands on this one before I jump in.

For power mode, they haven't figured out temp control yet....kinda like Sigelei mods.
You have reaffirmed my impression, there's no joy with iJoy. Therion it is, even at the higher price.....unless there are drastic improvements from iJoy.

Paid my deposit today on an SE box flush with dicodes chip.

Will pay it off Tuesday. Daniele is great to deal with, if you get the chance.

The sunbox guy chickened out of mailing international.

Phenom or cruiser?

It's a Phenom. If the pics are actually from YFTK the clone looks pretty much 1:1. If I don't snag one off the list this weekend I'll probably pick one of these up.
Believe it or not, people on FT are complaining about the $19.99 price point! It's one fifth the price of the authentic which most can't even get their hands on!

That ain't for airflow that is where you drip as I recall.
Open hole drip drip drip.
Close hole vape vape vape.
Wash rinse repeat!
Unless your squonking then you'd leave it closed.
The Airflow comes from just under the coil.
I've held the real deal in my hand.At a vape store here in the city.I was going to buy 1 for my best friend's birthday.Until I heard the price tag.Which meant he got a lovely $50 mod not the Authentic Chalice for $185.

Hmm.. in that case, that might be a serious possibility, might even brave FT again. :D I sure as hell ain't paying the big bucks for an atomizer again -- did that once with the (authentic) Achilles II... total burn. He tried to make it airy enough for cloud chasers... so ruined it for the tight-draw MtL'ers... and it's STILL too tight for cloud chasers, so it's just garbage.

Interwebz vape drama.

No drama, It's as simple as me standing up for something I feel strongly about, asking folks who aren't really interested in supporting an original to step aside and allow someone into the group who will.
Dogman has sand in his twat and doesn't like my approach even though he has no dog in the race nor does he even belong to the group, so he's going to go out of his way to spite me, which seems like more of a cunt move than me making the request in the first place.
Yes, I stand up for my friends and their original work.
No, I'm not sorry.

I guess it depends on why they would buy the clone -- if a) it's to see if they think they'd like the more-expensive authentic, or know if it's worth waiting for, or b) because they don't want to wait or pay that much. If it's the latter, then I agree with you, they're taking up space that someone else might use. If the former, then they're still supporting the original, they're just trying to learn if supporting it is actually worth it. (the time and/or money)

Did it ever occur to you that many of us will buy a clone to see if we even like the damn thing? Once we like it, we will buy the authentic. Please get off the soap box, it is a free country after all!

I likes my authentic Wasp Nano. I think the low price ($12) works against it for some though.
It is much better than my authentic Wanko ($9).

I would have been badly disappointed had I bought an authentic Hadaly instead of a clone.
I will do $10-15 on a gamble long before I will do $100.

I don't see how getting a clone to tide you over until the designer can get enough made for you to buy one is not supporting them? I've never been in any of these groups because I hate Facebook, so maybe I just don't understand how they work.

It comes across as elitism though, like saying if someone stooped so low as to sully themselves they shouldn't have the honor of supporting the original. Telling them to leave the group, isn't that telling people NOT to support the original?

Am I missing something here??

I have to agree with BrewBear here. I have bought many authentic products in the past that turned out to be complete garbage and then have to eat the loss. I buy 1:1 clones of expensive things when I can and if it's something I really like then I'll shell out the $$$ for the authentic. That is just smart thinking. If some designer cant understand that then screw them. Just my 2¢ worth. This debate will never end!

Mine is not a favorable opinion here, but that doesn't make it wrong to stand up for something I believe.
Isn't that included in the definition of a free country?

I get where you're coming from, saint. Keep this in mind though, you're friends with Steve and didn't have to wait on a list to get yours right? Please correct me if I'm wrong.

My problem with your stance is this: the group (not necessarily Steve himself) require you to "stay active" in the group or otherwise get booted. How long do they expect people to look at all the hand checks and participate in discussions about an atty that they've never used? I personally would LOVE to support Steve and buy a Haku from him.

Is it his fault that his atty is in high demand? No.

Is he doing a good job of producing them? Absolutely.

Steve is doing all the right things but expecting people to ride the hype train for months on end to no avail is kind of ridiculous.

Many times it is not what you say, but how you say it. Standing up for a friend is great, coming across like :if you buy a clone you're not worthy of the authentic. ....well, frankly, that is offensive.
