Umm supposedly we are far more advanced than the animals, but I guess not in many cases.
Umm we pretty much spend as much on warfare as we do on all our social (helping fellow humans) spending combined.

I have never understood the comparison of humans to animals as a measure of acceptable behavior.
We are supposed to be the smarter more adaptable species. I mean, why go to church if animals don't? Why take care of your young if many animals don't? I find it ludicrous to say it's ok to do something simply because animals do or don't.
On the other hand, my dogs are far more willing to lick strangers. Should we lick more strangers too?
The bottom line is we are a different species with a far more advanced level of thinking. We know better far more often than animals do. Animals are more instinctual but we are more intellectual. Well, some of us are.

The comparison to animals was not to justify humans killing humans . But like animals we are born with a nature that nature is survival yes we are a more advanced animal but we still have basic instincts. I have a cat that kills anything that walks in my yard not for food but for the fact it's his space . It's a instinct in his DNA . He's just doing what he does . Man has been at war since the beginning of man we have just perfected it . Is it our fault we were born with the instinct? Yes we can control it but some don't , that's why we have prisons, and why we have had wars . The point being Cromwell judges everyone by the acts of a few making him a basic racist.

What you have here, is a problem of scale. Lion packs(prides) are rather small(and they don't have much in the way of technology, lol). Aside from that, a male lion that takes over a pack will kill every lion cub in that pack and run off or kill every male. Now, scale that up and add Technology. You'll certainly see a pack of lions plot to remove an entire species if they had the capacity to do so. All for some nookie, a common reason for violence and murder in humans.
While it gives some a sense of security to believe we are far removed from animals, the facts remain. Those facts are what we call crimes. Theft, rape, murder and etc. and it's actually a large reason we have governments which, to date, have not solved those issues but to the contrary they simply scale up to entire countries committing theft, rape, murder and etc. on a much larger scale(on other countries or the populace of their own).
Those that deny nature in humans will forever be disappointed to find that nature still exists in humans. And those that beleive governments can suppress nature in humans will be ever more disappointed to find that the violence simply scales up.
