My new Griffin RTA (vs Crius)

I can't wait till my Griffin gets here. I love my Crius, but want to try something different as far as larger coils go. I don't mind the smaller capacity especially for trying my new DIY mixes. I never load a full tank when trying a fresh juice anyway. I can't wait to try the fancy schmancy Clapton coil wire I have on the way in it.

Its 3.5ml with an easy topfill so its not that low of a capacity and topfill makes it so its not a issue at all...You will enjoy it...I have a black Griffin and Black Cuboid on the way since I love it soo much!

Your going to enjoy your Cuboid. IMO it's the perfect size and now I can experiment further with different builds. My old Istick 100 BRICK is now in the hands of my son.

Your going to enjoy your Cuboid. IMO it's the perfect size and now I can experiment further with different builds. My old Istick 100 BRICK is now in the hands of my son.

Yea I have a grey one, the only thing that irks me is how it limits wattage when using lower builds. I updated it to 3.10 and built a .14 in the Mutation MT RTA and it only lets me go as high as 87.5W but anything above .2 can go full 200w....

Perhaps it did not occur to you, but I was watching this thread, and how experiences were going with the Griffin, with an eye toward obtaining one, for myself.

Didn't realize commenting on it it in less-than-glowing terms would hurt somebody's feelings. I apologize.

Its your opinion on something you havent tried yet...Its okay to express how you feel. The problem was that your looking at it and the things that you pointed out that you could care less about are the main features people are looking at this tank for. Its obviously not the tank for you if your not excited for the features it boasts...

The best part about vaping is the choices, everyone is different and choosing what fits for you is the only important rule.

Loving this tank, it's great. Tried some fused Claptons in it and it was a little hot for my liking, so backed off a little and put a standard Clapton, 32N80/24K1 7 wraps 2.5mm for .27 ohms. It's blissful. Indistinguishable from an RDA experience, sans dripping. What a great design.

Honestly, cloud wise I can hardly tell the difference between the Griffin and my RDAs if I run similar builds.

So here is my TM and Griffin with very similar builds. Cloud density, size and flavor are almost identical. Griffin is wide open and TM has 2 holes open. If it's clouds you want, clouds you get.

I've noticed at 90w+ I'd have to take a short fast hit and really didn't like it much..that cloud I posted was a 24g dual coil build at 75w which was within my comfort range..lol

All depends on your build...with the build I have in it it doesnt feel overly hot at 150w, even at 180w its still vapable with a normal 3-4 second draw...The Fused Clapton has much more and needs more power to get it to the appropriate temp., your parallels dont need nearly as much power to ramp up.
Think this way...with 70w which one do you think will be glowing before the other...even at the same resistance? The surface area and mass make larger coils more power hungry and thats why people need higher wattage..

Here's a shot I just took a minute ago..
I didnt have a single light on and the blinds were closed so its not the best shot it could have been and if I did turn a light on or had the blinds open it would have looked much much more dense...but this is a normal 3 second draw and strong exhale....This is what you should expect out of Fused Claptons and 110w.

You know I think I'm gonna stick to simple single or parallel builds that ohm out no lower than .25
They vape great dripping, and don't require high wattages..be a good first build in the Griffin..should be getting it today, hopefully! Lololo

Build it to the way you like to vape, the way I vape isnt the way everyone should vape, I dont think most people could vape like I do all day...aybe here and there but its what I like nd its what drew me away from the smokes and has kept me off. Thats all that matters, what works for you is what you should build for.
If you want a more flavorful experience but dont want to get low try some normal claptons....some 24/32 should be great and keep you above .2 Ohms, you wont need more then 60w-90w and the flavor intensity will be that much better, not to mention it will absorb juice better....
Something like what I have in the MT Tank:



Its funny the MT Tank looks like the deck size is bigger but the coils in it are the largest coils that could fit...they seriously are a single millimeter from touching the cap, the Griffin can hold much bigger coils then whats in it now...

Since you got the TFV4...If you've tried the Quad coilhead around 110w thats the type of vape off my Griffin at 160w but there much more flavor, different nuances and tones without the juice in your mouth...that should be a good hint as to what its like with the clapton wires and the crazy sounding wattages...

Yes I did..too damn hot!...

Quad coil shown here..pulled that out tried the RBA single coil deck and didn't like that either..settled on the triple coil at 80w for now..hope the Griffin will come close in performance.. time will tell, lol

Actually I both the black and silver TFV4's I run on these two RX200 mods.

I'm getting the black Griffin today (hopefully) and if I like it I'll order another one in silver..I'm excited about the Griffin, can't wait to try it out!

Yea I made them for him as they were smaller then the pair in my Griffin and from what I heard it should of fit the "massive deck spaced MT Tank", it didnt so hes using them in a Griffin he ordered....

Raymo2u damn the Griffin is a chucker for sure,, but DAYMN the coil u sent me reads out .08 it's HOT VAPE, I don't know how u VAPE 100 watts plus, but it ain't for me, it's just freaking killed the juice, and I'm using a 75/25pg... I removed the ring around the base, the JUICE FLOW BULLSHIT has to go, it's annoying!! The damn tank kept spinning with the juice flow control... I can tell you right now I like my MUTANK THAN THE GRIFFIN!!! I'm gonna do a re build on the Griffin maybe a 22 g NICHROME 6/7 wraps will do the trick for me... Nice tank though

I kinda figured Rays' Clapton's would be too hot for me too..haven't got 22g but have some 24g Nichrome on hand I will try when my Griffin finally gets here..BTW, your signature line fits alot better now, thx for modifying it for us..
