Sorry, it was late at night and I wasn't thinking haha, I was thinking of a hammond enclosure DNA 40 with no charging board. Yeah $175 is pretty fair considering the authentic is $300 not to mention usually defective. I'd be really excited if it was a 1:1 clone though ;*(
I really like the look of the authentic v2.1 510 connector, it looks so clean aesthetically.

Still looks good, the v2.1 just has that unique simple look. Not that it makes much of a difference since it'll be covered up by the atomizer anyway.
I'm going to wait it out for a month and see what the jury says about the Waidea and Kangxin, and I'll buy 2-3 of whatever comes out on top. The new Ranger OKR-T/10 looks SEXY too, but I'm tired of Hammond boxes and I'm only interested in TC mods now.

Just buy a clone and put a Evolv board in it. They give a year warranty on the board. I offer a service to do it if your not up to the task.

Just got an email from Waidea saying the VFv3 - 1:1 is ready to ship today. Also thinking Waidea is not the actual manufacturer, rather a large distributor.(Nikki would have a better idea). Peruse their website, and it seems they sell many products from many manufacturers. They also sell the VaporShark 40 clone, where Limwell said they were the only one cloning it. Hard to tell who to believe since they will say anything to get your business.
http://www.waideacig.com/vapor-flask-v3-mod

They quoted me 70.00 for a sample unit

"Many thanks for your inquiry ,

This is Tina from Waidea Group China ,Hope one day we could have a nice relationship .

Regarding you refer to vapor falsk v3 we are only do clone 1:1 factory at China .

If possible ,hope you could share with me how many sets do you need ?

If a samples ,maybe need to $70/set .

We could send out goods tomorrow .That just coming out tomorrow .

Welcome to your feedback .

Best Regards,

Tina

Any query, pls feel free to let me know .

Thanks and best regards,

Waidea is the manufacturer on this, not a reseller. Waidea is an OEM factory and authorized distributor of Kangertech and a few others. Also, all OEM factories resell other manufacturers products, including Limwell. They can't all manufacturer every hot product, so when something is hot, but another factory made it, they will all try to resell it.

Limwell and Comcig are lined up to resell Waidea's clone, but neither of them have it yet. My sample which has been on order since November is supposed to ship out today ..

There is a thread on ECF regarding the Vapor Flask 40W clones that you should check out, its in the APV section. I have posted several pictures there of the Waidea clone ... the photos show a sample which is not 1:1, although Waidea assures me that the final production unit will be. We shall see, I am not convinced yet, but I am more about the chip at this point anyway. ;-)

My sxk flask has the same 510 as the authentic and the brass pin for the 510. Only difference is no branding and uses Philips screw's not hex. So what's the big deal with 1:1?

There isn't really .. So far the SXK is the closet to a 1:1 in terms of construction. What Waidea showed me so far IS NOT 1:1.

What doesn't look 1:1 to you on the Waidea? I have no idea, just wondering. I would like to get the best 40w version as soon as I can sort out the riff from the raff.. not always easy to parse out fact from fiction when dealing with the Chinese.

Its the extended battery caps and the gold fire button .. The authentic Flask has flush fitting battery caps that cannot be seen unless you turn the device upside down. These caps are like knobs that extend 4mm beyond the body, not at all like the authentic.

I was told that they would be like the authentic .. sigh, we will see ;-)

Check out the pictures at this link. It looks like they may have changed the "knobs" to flush caps with a coin slot. And it's definitely a silver fire button in the picts.

so which clone is the one to get? the ones at 3fvapes, waidacig.com, focalecig.com and evkoo.com have usb charging but the one at fasttech doesn't, but the ones at waideacig and evkoo have the same picture... so confused with one would have the right chip.

so evkoo and waideacig have brass battery caps and floating 510 pin and the others have copper 510 pin and copper battery caps

Rich, all those Waidea pictures have already been proven to be of a REAL Vaporflask, not a 1:1, and they've been floating around for months. The cake is a lie.

If you have to have one right this minute (or at least before CNY shuts everything down), the Kangxin KD-40D units being sold at 3FVape are already in the hands of people (non-USB version), including some folks here on VU, exterior quality is decent, buttons ok, battery covers not quite flush with some (or all) batteries installed, and temp control is verified to be working.

It's taking about a week (for most folks) to go from purchased to in their hands, US and UK both. I have a Kangxin USB version I ordered last Tuesday in the air right now, so they are shipping, not vapor.

If you can afford to wait until after CNY, there will be better models out there, or at least improvements to the existing crop (better USB port location, better materials or finish, etc). What we have right now is a market rush to get those temperature control chips out fast to get first mover advantage and profits before the bigger players like Yihi, Smok, Cloupor, etc get their own TC chips out and crush them. So that means messy and confusing for now.

Thanks Croak for your reply. I'm quite new to this forum but been vaping for 2 year and no smoking! The whole thing with TC mods and nickel building has caught my attention in overall health and satisfaction in vaping. authentic vaporshark and flask are too much to dish out and the clone prices work for me. So fasttech and 3fvapes (non-usb versions) are the same? and lastly what are your thoughts on the SMOK XPRO M80 Plus?

Withholding judgement on the Smok M80 myself, and would likely pass on it anyway since it has sealed batteries, prefer user-swappable ones, especially on a device that would take more than 5 hours to fully charge via USB.

March and April are going to be interesting months, because all the Chinese companies will have access to some version of a functional, affordable Ni200 required temperature control board. Well, except for Joyetech/Ismoka/Eleaf, and Innokin, both of those companies move slower and more deliberately, but they'll be caught up by summer.

I'm more in favor of the batteries being able to be removed. I'll pass on the smok m80

so the ones at 3fvape (non usb) and (usb) are the same using the Kangxin chip?

Yes, both using the KD-40 board. I wasn't too fussed about USB either since I'll rarely if ever charge a mod that way, but figured the USB version would be from later production runs and maybe have fewer kinks to worry about, whereas the non-USB has been around for more than a month, which is practically forever in Shenzhen time.

Those are pictures of the authentic Flask hun .. That is the Flask they bought and used to make the clone, confirmed by Waidea. These photos are how they gained the interest they have now, including mine. But yeah, that is not their clone in those photos.

FYI .. After over two long months of waiting, I have finally cancelled my sample for the Waidea Vapor Flask clone. I cannot take being given 6 different ship dates and still nothing.

Also, my spidey senses tell me they are have serious production issues .. of what kind I don't know, but I have been given literally 6 different release dates since November, whatever is going on that is continually delaying this clone's release, it cannot be good. I wasn't given any specific details only that " My boss wants it to be as perfect as possible ", this was the last explanation I was given. :(

Yeah .. I told them they are going to miss the market. The Kangxin continues to be a good sell with really good user reviews. By the time they get their stuff together, there may not be much interest. It sucks because I have waited soooo long for this one in particular.

Received my v3 from focal today. I like the housing of the v2 from FastTech better. This one is more slick/smooth with less texture/grip and has what appear to have line scrape on one side of the finishing that's easily seen and felt spite the black coating. I like the soft press and clickyness of the buttons but like the style and more perm press of the buttons on the v2 more. Came in a nice yellow box that says VAPORWALL ? So far so good chip wise. Haven't used with temp wire yet. I am massively disappointed however to find out that this unit does not have a USB port for onboard charging tho. I probably wouldn't have purchased it had I noticed that. The copper battery caps are soft. Put a slight nick/indentation in the edges of the slots when unscrewing them so now of course im worried about the copper 510 threading holding up over time.

That's all i can really say for the time being.
(Edit) temp protected mode is working well. Similarly to the evolve DNA 40, you set the temp and wattage and you see the temp gradually rising and the wattage adjusting in real time as you vape. Slash screen on initial boot up says hello then KD-40D BTW and does fire directly out of sleep.

On another note. This is the first time I ever received an ohms to high warning. 2.1ohm o_O? lol. Aside from that, its working great. May pick up a few of these boards in the future if it continues to hold up.

I'm still pretty sure those are genuine Vapor Flasks in those pictures. No way they go from the rough prototypes Nikkita got pictures of a week or so ago, to a product that looks like the pictures they just sent you. Especially not at this time of year.

The good thing about a flask mod is that you can use flask accessories like holsters.
The bad thing is the cops may pull you over if they see you driving with one in your hand:)

And the local Ace hardware sells these micro metric screws in phillips and hex for the R/C enthusiasts. If you don't have an Ace that does, any hobby shop does.

I just got offered $300 for my flask lol I made it clear it was a clone body but real internals down to the charge board. Makes me rethink my pricing ;)

Start flippin' on flebay dre! You'll clean house. Well maybe not as much after you pay your seller and PP fees lol.

That my dear has been scheduled for March 5th .. I originally had it scheduled during CNY but felt like there was no point publishing a review that could possibly generate interest in something that could not actually be purchased due to the Holiday shutdown ... so March 5th it is. :)

I just got my Kangxin V3 Vaporflask today, 40watt with temp control. The temp control works, it works REALLY well and is accurate, the watts and volts displayed when it fires are on the mark. on a .38 ohm standard Kanthal coil, Ohms law calculated 40 watts at 3.89 volts. The V3 displayed 3.9 volts.

In temp control mode at 22 watts, 470 Degrees with a .17 Ni200 coil, the mod just varies the watts down as the coil hits 470 degrees, there's no "Temp Control" messages flashing at you, the mod just does it's thing and lowers the watts while you vape. Overall, I'm really impressed with the construction and accuracy of the mod. The bottom battery caps screw in flush, the charger works, and the left/right/stealth/wattage lock functions work. There's no wake up time from sleep before the mod fires.

The positive 510 pin is adjustable with a slot screwdriver, it's not spring loaded, my only functional negative about the mod at this point. For the price point of $70, this mod is an incredible value. I'll deal with manually adjusting the 510 positive contact at that price. If it holds up to daily use, it will be a real challenger to the $300 authentic. I've used an authentic and the fit and finish on the clone are actually better. No missing screws, no DNA40 screen pixelating problems.

The bottom of the mod has made in USA on it with the Vaporflask logo, that's a negative in my book. Kangxin made a good clone, why not just put their name on the bottom? The mod is finished nicer and works better than the authentic, why not capitalize on that?
