I think all religions are stupid, not just xtianity. Any religion that prevents you from responsibly taking care of yourself, such as with medicine, birth control, abortion if necessary, or eating some animal to keep from starving to death... it's just a power play, a mind game, a way to control the maaaaaaaa-sses. I think all religions are stupid, not just xtianity. I'm still waiting to read what YOUR "level of atheism" is? My guess it is militant atheist (new atheist), and you're embarrassed to admit the scientific failings in that position.

The Catholics say "mystery of faith" for a reason. Could the strong/militant/new atheists do to same? Claim a "mystery of the faith of atheism"?

I have had a grudge since one Christmas morning, many, many years ago. It was my baby daughter's first Christmas and we had just gotten to the magical point where she understood that the colorful boxes were for her and had toys inside! And the boxes were even more fun to play with!

And then came a knocking at my chamber door. A pack of Jehovah's Witnesses.

They came wanting to spread the word and left after leaning a few new words I shared with them.

I also have a very old and dear friend that is an avowed atheist and is a far better man than many supposed Christians that I know.

Exactly. To debate something doesn't require being rude or outright attacking anyone. If you feel different about something than I do doesn't make your point any less valid, and doesn't give me any right to call you names or belittle your beliefs/thoughts/emotions

Many/most do not have the capability to truly be their own individual. they must be a part of something else and be led by it.
I think of it as a pack mentality.

I wasn't raised in any religon I was free to go or not go ....my parents didn't attend any church I grew up close to lot of American Indians and no white or hispanic person I grew up with disrespected their religous beliefs....one of the things I've noticed about some people who are aethists.is they are not merely indiffrent to other peoples religons they are actively hostile, and that hostility comes from not some intellectual ephiany but it is the baggage of childhood resentments committed against them as kids....mean priest or punishing nun or stupid sunday school teacher...they just can't get past those experinces and aren't able to hear or see past those experinces, they are not open they are trapped in a time and place long ago.....of course this doesn't include all aethists,but it is something I've come across often in life.

There are MANY who define "atheism" as the belief there is no deity, and agnotsic spectrum where varying levels of "maybe" live. I don't like the term "weak atheist", since it's kinda like sayin "almost pregnant"
