My Crazy Wire order was a bust. The SS430 didn't behave as 430 should, not even close. TCR should be 138, but even raising as high as 155 didn't cure the cold, weak vape. Same on VT133 and VTC Mini. Went back to SS304 coils and all is good again.
Do you have any of the SS430 28ga from Unkamen Supply to compare your results too? I do and know what I'm getting with theirs so I will know if it's different. I'm still waiting on my order but didn't order mine until July 12.

Cheers,
Steve

What gauge 430ss? How many wraps?

Damn it. I just placed an order lol. Hope it works out for this wire to work well. It'll probably work on the HohmTech devices. Maybe.

First of all you really need to know what the hell you are doing before you post bullshit info. Learn how to use 430SS and the dna mod and software before posting BS!! This is 2 new coils from the order i received last night!

That graph looks like the same results I get from my Unkamen SS430, very solid! I'm thinking either his coils were off or maybe he is use to TC wire that isn't as accurate as SS430. If your use to wire that jumps all over the place in TC then something that flat lines might seem off.

To me SS430 is always the same where as when I use 316L or 317L it seems a little off to me. Sometime hot, sometime cool, sometime just right (sounds like Goldilocks and the Three Bears again lmao).

Here's an example of what I'm saying. The straighter the Red Line, the more accurate the temperature is:

No, I don't have the Unkamen 430 wire, though I have used some of their other wire in the past. I wanted a larger wire so ordered the 25ga SS430 from Crazywire. Looking forward to your report!

They have had their share of issues a few months back, reported over on ecf.

It's alright to charge in the mod. The DNA200 has a very good balanced charging board. I charge all my 3s Lipos on board in my DNA200's with no issues whatsoever. I wouldn't do it all the time because of a couple of reasons
1. It's only a 1 amp charging board so charging up two LG HG2's would take about 6 hours.
2. I figure the less stress I put on the micro USB connector the better.
3. I usually just swap out the discharged set and put a freshly charged pair in. Then I throw the discharged set in the charger.

But to answer your question, I wouldn't worry if I was in a situation where I had to use the on-board charger. I wouldn't say this about any other board besides the DNA200.

Cheers,
Steve

Dual 25ga (.44mm) 8/9 wraps, 3mm, .22 ohms in an Aromamizer Supreme.

That's the exact same build i just did to show you the graph! 425f is spot on! If you want it hotter turn up the temp...It's the best SS wire i have ever used. Turn on EScripe and shows us your graph and settings. I am sure we can get you straight. But damn please don't say the wire is crap. it's on you not the wire.FullSizeRender.jpg

Lighten up mate. I'm just reporting my experience. Yours is obviously different. I don't claim to be an expert at this. But I'm willing to learn.

I had similar results using both 138 tcr and the SS430 curve in Steve's VT133 profile set. Varying the wattage between 50 and 80 didn't change the result, nor did upping the temp to 500F.

@diyguy You have to understand BoostAddict is a straight up guy and wouldn't recommend the wire unless he had been using it for awhile. I consider him a friend and very knowledgeable to boot.

He is like me in the fact that he wouldn't recommend the wire unless he really believed in it both by taste and the graphs to back up his opinions. If I was in the same situation, I would be put off by the post that the wire is crap, with no graphs or anything. It's sort like saying he doesn't know WTF he is talking about and nothing could be further from the truth.

Cheers,
Steve

Edit I wrote that before you posted the graph

Look at my graph. The green line is your voltage, mine drops down from 65 watts to 58 watts. Your graph shows your wattage down to 15 watts, so you have nothing left to fire up your coils.

Thanks. I noticed that, but it didn't happen as severely when I switched back SS304 wire, and I got a good warm vape at 460F (it dips to about 30w). Any idea what could cause the voltage drop? My resistance looked fine, reading 0.22 ohms on the meter and the mod.

Not sure what's going on? You can hold your Vt133 in your hand while watching your screen, hit your fire button and look at your screen. I bet your wattage is dropping down to nothing(5-15 watts). Something is off, that's for sure! Maybe Steve will chime in, that's your problem though....

The only thing i can think of, is you're not getting proper wicking so the board is pulling wattage/voltage and going into Temp Protect. That's all i have got for now:D

Sorry for the late reply but it's been absolutely crazy over here. Usually when you voltage sags real bad like that it's your batteries. It could be that they were at the end of the run. Could be that they are getting old, or maybe not a high enough CDR (20 amps minimum).

I mainly use Samsung 25R's if I'm going to be pushing a mod or LG HG2's. Both are very good batteries imo. There was a problem with some LG HG2's that were either seconds or fakes.
https://batterybro.com/blogs/18650-...an-you-identify-the-fake-lg-hg2-18650-battery

Mine are genuine and run great. I just read the posts and that's what I can come up with quickly off the top of my head.

Here's a pretty good article on 18650's if you are interested:

PS I'll look at the graph tomorrow when things aren't so hectic.

I haven't really looked at the graphs. I just casually read the posts quickly. Yes if the mod is going into Temp Protect the mod will back off the power to keep you from going over your set temp. Dry wicks would definitely cause that. Having your airflow closed down would do that to a certain extent as well. If it's just batteries sagging, then look at my previous post. I'm playing catch up atm.

Cheers,
Steve

I don't think they have a separate Red and Orange. The Red is sort of a Reddish Orange. I posted the 6 colors available on this thread awhile back. I got the picture from Hcigar's site. Here it is, these are the 6 different colors of battery covers they make:

You guys win. Lots of love here so I have some VT133's showing up on Saturday. With the Pa tax about to kick in I bought 4 new mods just in case.
Nice (not about the tax, that is BS). I think you will really like the mod. Not sure if you are familiar with the DNA200 boards? If your not, I posted my Ecig file back on page 17 iirc (Edit It's on page 7) and if you download it and then upload it to your mod, it will be set up. Profiles, custom screen, case thermals, nod resistance - pretty much everything to get you started.

Cheers,
Steve

Edit it was on page 7 - it was awhile ago.

Welcome to the club! I think you will like it. I started out with one and now have 5. Needless to say I like it a lot. By the way the Ecig file is on page 7 if you are interested.

I noticed you have serious love for the mod. If I have half the love as you do I'll probably end up with another one, 80 bucks for a DNA200, yea I'll probably end up with another one.

It's the configuration file that sets up the mod for just about everything. You may have to tweak some settings but it just about sets up the mod..Good job Steve.

Nice. I'll download and throw it in when i get the mod. Does it have the latest firmware with it, or does firmware upgrade separate?

I'm not the guy to answer this as I don't have one until Sat but I noticed the software has a button labeled update firmware.

The ecig file is the configuration file. I just added an updated file to the post that contains SS317 TC for profile 8. I also added back in the preheats for the other SS TC profiles. The post and one under it have the instructions on how to load it along with what it contains. Here's the link to the post:
http://vapingunderground.com/threads/hcigar-vt133-dual-18650-dna200.171476/page-7#post-1181938

Here's the link to the latest version of Escribe and it also has the newest firmware. I think most of the VT133's come with the latest firmware, but just in case it will be in Escribe. I recommend you use this version of Escribe and firmware. (It's the one I use for all my DNA200 mods):

*** 2016-02-29 EScribe 1.0.42 ***
https://www.dimensionengineering.com/software/SetupES_2016-02-29.exe (52MB standalone installer)

The actual Firmware version will be 2016-02-23. You can find out what Firmware you are running by hooking up your mod to Escribe and clicking on the Device Monitor. It will be in the bottom right hand corner.

I believe the firmware update is separate. Escribe will automatically tell you if you need a firmware update when you plug the mod in.

Quick Question @Wingsfan0310 I noticed you have Temp Dominate box checked not lock ohms. What does temp dominate do as opposed to lock ohms??

Temp Dominate puts the Temperature in the big display so you would change it with the + and - buttons. I use that in TC. I don't have that checked in the power profile so wattage is in the big display and is changed with + and - buttons.

I don't lock the ohms on my DNA200 mods in TC. Evolv recommends you don't unless your resistance is unstable. The DNA200 has refinement. That is where the board monitors the coils after they have cooled and if the cold resistance changes (it often does by a little as the coils break in), it refines or changes it to what they are at present (not as they rise when heated, it only does it once they are cooled). Locking the resistance turns off refinement. I hope that's not confusing because I did it off the top of my head, not copied and pasted.

Cheers,
Steve
