It allows you to use a higher wattage in VW mode for up to 2 seconds to get the coil vaping your juice faster then it will come back down to the set wattage. Great for heavy/thick/fancy coils with long ramp up times.Looks inerteresting..... What does the preheat function do?
Pico for the TC control... with the 20w or 30w Istick you are limited to Kanthal and nichrome ONLY. With the Pico you can use nearly any type of vaping wire. Yes, I know you use a nautilus.... I have one too that I rebuild with stainless wire.

I don't rebuild coils yet I'm still a noob I just use/buy the stock aspire coils, so what will temp control do for me over the istick mini 20w. A response is GREATLY APPRECIATED

Yes, it is for VW mode only. TC on mods like this already have a basic pre-heat function: you set your max watts and that is what is used until it reaches your set temp then the watts are lowered/controlled to try and maintain that temp. I haven't used it on my pico yet but it works great on my 0.2ohm coils I have on my rx200s, rx2/3 and istick 200tc mods. I set the preheat 20 - 25% higher than my max watts for 0.7 seconds. It's for VW mode?? I thought it was for TC. Guess I'll have to build a slower coil to see it work? Got a 28/30 twisted SS coil at .5ohms.
Nah. Just didn't feel like being redundant to fozzy71's post, and make his eureka announcement seem less special.Ok, then you forgot where the edit button is!![]()

Another advantage of the Pico is the replaceable battery
Just gives more options... I also find it a more consistant vape and you will never get a dry or burnt hit. BUT it won't work with Kanthal or nichrome coils, coils need to be SS, Ti or Nickle. So unless you build on the nauty, no real benefit.
On rebuilding.. It's easier than it sounds and looks.. I learned to build with a Naultilus and a protank, when I was a newbie. The first month. Because I got tired of dealing with crappy coil heads, and I wanted better flavor.
Today 2 1/2 years in I still vape at 30 watts or less. mostly in the 15-20watts range. I don't use the Protank or Nautilus anymore. Wife Uses the Nautlilus on her 10w istick, and I also don't build coils for her. She uses factory coils.
Another advantage of the Pico is the replaceable battery.
Pico, definitely.I'm about to order another mod, and love/must be small size. I'm torn between istick mini 20w and the Pico. Which one should I get? I use a Aspire Nautilus and don't blow huge clouds. Currently using istick mini 10w the original one

You not stuck with the limited coil and or builds of factory coilheads. So guys what is so special with the RBAs?

Most of the time you just change the wick.... only time you would have to change the coil is because you damaged it during the Rewicking process or get bored with the build. Coils themselves can last for months. Heck you can get months of use out of coil head if you learn to rebuild it or wick it.Thanks guys for explaining this. I will soon learn how to build coils. But let me get things right: I have the Kangertech subtank mini, so if I build a coil for it from the stuff that was inside the box, and when the coil needs changing, do I change the wires and the cotton only?

Fwiw I learn to build using protank and nautilus coilheads.

Just a quick question (I will search the net thoroughly about it): what determines the resistance of the coil? I mean if I want to build 0.3 ohms coils or 1.5 ohms coils, what is the factor of determining this?
-----EDIT-----
Ok got it, I found an app that does this
Thanks a lot.

Type of wire, gauge and length of wire determine resistance. Type of desired vape hit are the determining factor in what wire or build to use. The atomizer and device you use to fire it will also affect this. The difference between .3ohm and 1.5ohm to most is a wattage thing. And in a mech mod or unregulated mod, the ohms determine the power output. But with a regulated mod the difference between building to .3 vs 1.5ohm has more to do with how many volts and amps you have to play with and how big or small a coil you want or need.
I cannot answer you as I use Kangertech Subtank mini. Can someone tell me how fast does the liquid go and has anyone had any issues with leaking?
if the pico doesnt see your battery,, its likely time to clean the battery and the battery compartment. i use alcohol or hand sanitiser if its real bad or a pencil eraser .. found ejuice build up/or dust/lint mixed with humidity of a film was the problem.my pico died in two weeks I bought the pico kit on oct 22 and brought it back to my local store today for a exchange. it first stopped recognizing any battery i put in it but would fire up if i plugged it in to my lap top then just stopped altogether. I actually bought 2 one for me one for my wife. my wife's is still working but again only been since oct 22. with that said i do like it. its good on batteries and the melo iii tank it comes wih is pretty nice with both .3 an .5 coils. I bought a tobeco super tank mini also and works great with it also. I use it as my everyday vape. maybe i just got a fluke one. but they exchanged it for another pico so we will see. I usually run boths tanks around 50 watts
Where do you get the pico boards?4 picos,, 2 more on the way,, 2 pico boards with 2 more on the way, 1 squeeze with 1 more on the way. (dont buy the squeeze with the coral atty........the atty sucks)
Where do you get the pico boards?

I almost never take my tanks off of my pico's/any mods unless I am cleaning (on Sunday's) no leaking issues. (kanger topboxes too)I cannot answer you as I use Kangertech Subtank mini.
A friend of mine has the pico and told me that if he leaves the tank intact for couple of days it leaks. My tank is on its side for more than 5 days and it never leaked.

The reason am using Subtank is that it does not get hot like the Melo 3 mini although I like the Melo 3.I almost never take my tanks off of my pico's/any mods unless I am cleaning (on Sunday's) no leaking issues. (kanger topboxes too)
not possible unless you flash the firmware againAnyone know how to reset puff and vape counters from the latest update?

I sent an email to eleaf requesting if there is a possibility to add an option to reset the puff counter and an option to set the maximum puffs. Let's hope they can add them in the next firmware.Anyone know how to reset puff and vape counters from the latest update?
