Does everybody but me love the Profile RDA?

Hands way way down, my favorite battery I have or have tried. I just love them. I only wish more of my mods would take them. Specifically lots of my squonks, and almost all of my single cell regulated
Fantastic for singe cell regulated. I have a few of em for that purpose. For mechs though, the Sanyo 2070C edges it out in my opinion.

I am going to get my Profile/Cut up and running here soon. only dripped on it so far, and I had to have it soaked to work well.

Been squonking all day . The tricky part after using the Unity is to remember to squeeze the bottle every now and then....

I have to give it a full squeeze, for every hit. when I let off the bottle, it sucks the juice back into the bottle. seems that is not normal, but idk what I am doing wrong. other than that, it tastes and hits just like the Profile, for me.

It should suck the excess back in. Use more cotton in the well.

I gotta say, I have 2 Profiles and 1 Unity... these are my favorite attys hands down. Best flavor of all my gear. I have a Reload X, Reload S, Drop, Lotus, and Glaz. The Profiles beat them all.

Opposite of the Unity, trim the lower part and bring the top down to the wells.

I rewicked it, about as you say, but me thinks a little on the light side, idk. anyway, right now I am dripping on it, to try a new DIY, and it is worked well. that may change when I go back to sqonking it, I hope not.

Try btfc with a single 4mm or 4.5mm id coil. I liked mine. Bbeing said that, you won’t get flavor like profile.
While writing reply to you I got an idea - I’m going to try notch coil in my btfc next

I can't remember if you tried a notch coil in the profile yet or not.

Man! I read this whole thread and now I’m even too scared to even try this Profile/mesh/squonk thing.
So far I’ve only used premade mesh coils in sub ohm tanks. I thought MAYBE I could try my hand at this whole RDA thing because this nexmesh thing doesn’t look THAT hard.
So I bought a Topside Dual and this Profile RDA and it’s just been sitting on my shelf.
I watched a buncha YouTube videos and I saw a reviewer (a reviewer ! ) having issues with shorting out.
This person like you guys is well versed in all things vape - words like “fused clapton” make my eyes glaze over.
I’m an old lady in my 60’s. I don’t think this old dog can learn new tricks. And I can’t get help from a vape shop either - that would have really helped. Having an actual human in front of me showing me.
Ugh.

Thanks for the vote of confidence!

But, man, If the OP, who has been “building” successfully for god knows how long cannot conquer this what hope do I have?!

And then seeing a reviewer who also knows their shit talking about have several shorting out issues first... well... that’s enough to scare me away from trying.

I do wonder how many people my age pick this up? And truly learn this complicated stuff. Because From where I sit, so far, none.

I still like to read about it all though!

I am the original poster.

I have a feeling that you're a lower power vaper. I was shooting for a higher range than you likely will be and I've only been fiddling with rebuildables for like 14 or 15 months. You should do fine with this RDA, though it may take a couple few tries to get the wicking. Don't get discouraged.

This wouldn't be my recommendation for a first RDA, but you have it there now and may as well give it a whirl. Plenty of help here. :)

@gyrlgeorge Welcome to VU. We're just a bunch of chuckle heads in here but we can do it. Well, I am anyway. As gizmo said, plenty of help around. You can do it.

Don't put much stock in any reviewer. Always with a grain of salt, some of them, the whole shaker...

1) Old dogs can learn new tricks...I am proof of it.
2) It is far easier to build and wick than some make it seem. I don't know who you were watching short out the Profile. but stop watching whoever it is.
3) Keep it simple ,install mesh as instructed, Install cotton. it should just compress the the block. trim the lower portion of the wick, use the photo above as a guide. tuck the upper portion into the well. Prime and enjoy....

Don’t be discouraged. Find a YouTube video of someone successfully building the profile (obviously not the “short” guy) and use that as your guide. The Profile is really pretty easy to build, actually most rda’s are easy especially compared to rta’s. It may take a few tries to get a feel for how much wicking to use but you’ll get it. It can’t hurt you in the process, nothing is gonna explode, worst thing that can’t happen is a dry hit, which is hard on the taste buds but they’ll recover. You just need to get in there and try, it will be rewarding I promise, because when running right the Profile puts out some delicious vapor. Also your choice of mod, the Topside, was an excellent decision, they are a match made in Heaven. So good luck to you, get in there and don’t be intimidated. I await your upcoming post on how great this setup is and you can’t believe you hesitated because we were all there at some point of our vaping journey.

I'm in my 60s as well and the profile was my first mesh RDA.
All it took was one good YouTube video and I was up and running in no time.
Don't give up without trying.
If you try it and find it's not for you there are several of us that will take it off your hands.

Like it's been said there are a lot of us here that will jump in and give you help as needed.

30 hits. that's a lot. but that's dripping. dripping, you can flood it. what about squonking it.

Don’t go for 30 hits yeah
But I was referencing to the pancake wicking method.

If someone is having a hard time with the Profile, I suggest getting the Wotofo Unity RTA. Wick that one a few times and see how it goes. Then go back to the Profile and see just how easy it truly is. My only suggestion is I use Rayon exclusively in the Profile and I've found that the tails need to be at least half the thickness of the body. It requires more pumping, but that's not a problem, it becomes a reflex after time.

The Unity works great, once you figure it out, but it's still a pita compared to the Profile.

now that s funny i can wick my profile way better than my unity in fact i have yet to get the unity to be perfect and need as a rewick after a day at 35 watts usually vs my profile at 50 watts for days if not weeks now the tc i started using makes it last longer in the profile. the unity always burns dry hits or leaks like a bitch
