Got ready for work, refilling jugg-mini on vt133.. Check battery - screams "low ohms" - oh? after weeks? Tore the deck out, pulled wick - still no joy. rinsed it all out and tried some more - lo! it's arcing from a pos-pin grub-screw passing to the frame... Got home tonight and ran a drill thru the frame-hole - threw it together - lo! I'm now an accurate .47ohm coil.

Ordered more stuff, a copper Pagoda 18650 tube mech from Silvervapes.com; a blue Elder Dragon, rainbow Wasp Nano RTA, and a silver iJust S Stick kit from VaporL, an X- Baby RBA from MyFreedomSmokes. The iJust stick is for my daughter, going to try to stock up on those 0.9 ohm cCell coils before they disappear.

Cleaned up some more tube mods and rdas to put away for the future. Feel like my collection is shrinking but it's just moving. Also messed around with the Doa smok mod I got the other day. And I got it working. Or you just have to shut the battery door with authority maybe. Lol. I figure it'll still fail but working for now.

Vaped :) And kibitzed here on VU. Read/watched some mod reviews. But, most importantly...

So a week ago I'd purchased this juice from a local DIY place called Verdea Tea. It's a more subtle flavour. Think sweetened green tea. Very tasty stuff. Problem was: I was getting a pretty raw throat and upper lung hit off it. Shop had no clue as to why. Well, I just figured it out: Too much wattage. Same tank and mod: One juice from the same place is best around 55-57W, this juice is best down around 50-51W. At the lower wattage I'm getting all the taste and more than enough vapor, but w/o the irritation.

Fascinating. And gratifying. I was beginning to fear I'd have to write the whole 120mm bottle off.

Yesterday I sent out my half on a few trades and updated the recipients.
Today I placed a lot of items in an online shopping cart for the upcoming possible vape ban. Mods and RDA's and whatnot.

Then I got mad about feeling like the vape community is being pushed to a panic and postponed the checkout. Went outside and mowed the grass, went shopping with my wife (gotta make sure we don't run out of dog food. I love my pups) dropped my middle one at work and helped my youngest start his science project.

Now that I'm calmed down I simply placed an order to restock some DIY flavors I'm almost out of and trimmed all the mods and extra RDA's from that other order. Got it down to one RDA I have been looking for and a bag of Cotton Bacon.

I'm still mad about the possible upcoming ban but I won't let myself feel like I have to make a lot of unnecessary purchases right now.

Woke up at 5 a.m. Couldn't get back to sleep. So I did a build on my venerable old VLS Vector RDA. After a couple false starts on the coils, almost forgetting to break them in, and a false start on the cotton, I got it... I think :)

Vapes ok, but tastes like crap :(

Tastes like I failed to get all the nasty old residue out when I cleaned the thing a couple weeks ago. *sigh*... I suppose I'll have to take it all apart again and give it a more thorough cleaning.

Update-
IVapeSupply guy got back to me. He said that Cheap Vaping Deals (site that promotes low prices and sales) blew up their sales numbers. They were used to 10-20 orders a day. They went from that to over 200 orders a day. At a point their site glitched up from traffic and over a hundred people got screwed (myself included). The manager or whatever he's called assured me that everyone will be refunded. I'm still going ahead with a chargeback just incase before It's too late.

Their prices on some of the stuff is just too damn enticing. I made an order this morning and it went smooth. The order actually appears on my account so there's atleast that. I hate to advertise for them but they have a 50% off section going. I ordered some green AL85's for five bucks a piece plus some other stuff. Shop at your own risk. Here's hoping my refund shows up soon and my order gets to me *drinks coffee*

I'm mostly posting this because @nadalama took notice to my previous posts about my situation. I know you've liked shopping there.

well ... after literally years, I scanned the vape scene and logged into this forum.
I haven't vaped in a few years now, and became curious about how things have changed.
I can't seem to find any 18650 tube mech mods on the market.
Rebuildables seem to have thinned out in the market as well.
Though at the community level I see building is alive and well, in stark contrast to what I see at madvapes.
I still track and advocate for vape though I no longer partake of it.
It's really taken a foot to the crotch with that JUUL THC pod issue.

My story is similar (three years), but I took up vaping again. As much in protest against Michigan's juice ban as anything else. (That and the fact I used to enjoy it.)

The character has changed significantly from what I recall from three years ago, though. ISTM there are far fewer discussions of new mods, tanks, RTAs, RDAs, building and the like than there used to be. E.g.: I posted a question about RTAs. Garnered seven respondents over one day and died. Another about mods. Four respondents in one day and died. Posted in a Vaporesso Gen Mod thread. One respondent followed-up. Not that I don't appreciate the responses I did get, because I do, but ISTM once-upon-a-time there would have been a lot more activity in such threads. Yesterday (?) somebody posted a review of the new Asmodus Barrage RTA. One response: A "like" by me. Then <crickets>.

It's more subdued around here right now than it has been since I've been here. People are bummed and disgusted with the things that are happening. This isn't typical.

I'd say a lot of the active members have been here a while and figured out what they like vape wise. New collectors and new vapers are the ones starting threads. A lot of the more established members already started their threads. Except the hardware section. Your sales post can be derailed at any second. Lol

I was always into the DIY segment of vape.
it's a wise place to be since nearly every component finds a primary use outside vape.
It's hard to knock it down if your geared up with a good rebuildable and a solid mech mod.
About the only thing you might want to horde is nic base. Every other part can be found elsewhere in other markets.
I'm surprised interest in building isn't growing ... it honestly should if you know what's good for you in the long run.

I think interest in building and DIY are steady, but slightly increasing because of what’s going on.
People here have gotten hit hard by this; first flavor bans and now who knows what else. It’s like we’re gearing up and digging in. And stocking up, of course.
How’re you finding life without vaping or nic, btw?

Honestly, sometimes I miss nic. It does help mental acuity so the lack thereof has me putting more effort into not spacing out.
That aside, it's great not being married to a pack of smokes, or a mod and juice check before heading to the door. It's more of a ball and chain than most might realize.
But now, I build and fly RC airplanes. I've gotten into long range FPV where I fly by camera and goggles, so it takes up the time and a portion of the money smoking and vaping used to.
I also took up homebrewing ...traditional Bock ... it's not just for breakfast anymore.

Surprised to read this as I thought you didn't care for them. Personally, I dig em, they work as they should and are incredibly priced with free shipping at the moment. I haven't seen a better deal on coils thus far.

I wanted the coils so that when I know what I’m doing, I’ll have them. The cleaning kit is a mystery. But eventually it will make sense, I hope.
If my vaping future is going to rely on coils and RDAs, then so be it. I’ll do it, but there’s nothing stopping me from kvetching about it! :giggle:

True. And a bunch of us are hoarding nic, mods, rda/rtas and all components. We have to. It’s really infuriating.

I am sad to say for the last week, all I’ve done is rewick a few rdas. I worked a ton last week and haven’t had time for mixing.....which is a tragedy. Been living off my massive stash of liquid. Hopefully, this week I can catch up on a few experiments I’ve been working on.

Oh. I ordered more nic and restocked a few flavors. And bought a few mechs and a Dwarv MTL from @~Don~ . Looking forward to building that!

I hear ya. If that's the case, it makes sense to get enough of them while they're on sale. RDA's really aren't an option for me while I'm out and about or working, RTA's fit the bill perfectly and are more similar to sub ohm tanks to me. But I still may pick up a few of them for home use to be fully prepped for whatever comes our way.

I use RDA in the general sense of something you rebuild! lol If the other ones are like sub ohm, great.
I’m still reeling from the juice ban spending, though. Hopefully, stuff will still be around when I’ve got funds.

So many of you have this guy. Well, I ordered this one. Not nearly as cool but it will do for now :) I need to find a black apocalypse RDA. Keep your eyes open for me folks as I couldn't find any ( clones that is ) The mod I ordered does not come with a RDA like this one in the picture.

So I want something like this to go with it. Or something similar.

Boiling it for 15 mins or so is a GREAT way to get rid of old residue, or machine oil in a new atomizer.

Well tonight when I was at the recovery center painting, I went outside to vape. There was this guy (introduced ourselves, his name is Brian) outside waiting for his ride. We were chit chatting and he said, you know what they’re saying about those vape things right? And I told him yeah and explained the differences between vaping and smoking cigarettes. He said he still smokes cigarettes cuz he doesn’t believe vaping is good for you. Even after I explained the THC carts and whatnot.

Oh well. That was my interesting/awkward vape story of the day!
