Hmmm....
Spent 500 bucks on a new water heater for the house last night. Mine took a dump after 21 years. Spent a couple hours today changing out the old for new.

Then today I bought a Kali V2 rda kit from the hardware section as well as a SOI Subzero X with matching Armageddon rda, also from the hardware section.

I know the feeling. Purchases are great when they're wants rather than necessities lol. Upgraded my water heater a couple years ago, wasn't particularly fun. Especially since this place wasn't wired for 220 and guess what the water heater was. At least it was a short run.

My purchases have been spread out but this friggin truck's gonna end up $500 nickel and diming me to death I'm sure of it. lol. No weird parasitic draws on the system which was good (thanks to the new meter). Need to test some other stuff like the park neutral switch. So that's my latest buy, a new switch to have on hand just in case. Apparently the plugs are all but glued in and often break. Having a replacement on hand it'll probably go fine, had I not had one can almost guarantee it would break on me getting the plugs out.

What started off looking like potential major electrical issues seems it may be more a bunch of stupid unrelated stuff. Hood light working intermittently, flashing of interior lights and lic plate lights, reverse lights out. Turns out the voltage was rock steady at the plugs I've tested so far. Instead a corroded/dirty gravity switch in the hood light, cheapy led courtesy lights failing (found similar to these on Amazon in packs of 20-30 for $10). Hoping the reverse lights are an equally easy/cheap fix. Just dumb luck that everything is acting up at the same time.

Ha ha I'm trying right now. Lol.
Oh and I bought a profile rdta today as well to match a voopoo x217 I bought yesterday

Sent from a pile of wood chips

I hope you like the X217. I just got one the other day as well. It's an interesting mix of textures on the outside.

I put a Zeus X Mesh on mine. Liking mesh more all the time!

I'll just go ahead and tell you now that your significant other will be miffed in the biggest way if you have more shoes than she does, k?

When she looks around the bedroom or in the closet and sees 270 pairs of sneaks that are every color of the rainbow, you might be eating water sandwiches and sleeping on the damn couch. That's what happens when the "bitch" gene gets activated, just so you know.

Meanwhile, enjoy your X. I truly am enjoying the hell out of mine. I thought for months that I'd like the mod, but I actually like it way more even than I thought I would.

Oh! And I finally got a Profile RDA. I bought one of Vinny's in the HW thread. Thing is awesome. Quiet, too, I can't believe how quiet it is!

Yea the profiles are really smooth. I can't wait to try the rdta. And yes I'd sleep on the couch for the shoes. Lol

I bought a diamond inspired choker bumble bee necklace from bee necklace. I bought this one because I was looking at the one that I can wear it regularly and the best thing about it can match with every outfit that I've. I'm so happy.

Most of my purchases lately haven't been necessarily fun ones. Bought a new trap for the sink to replace the janky one under the kitchen sink that wouldn't seal up. Hadn't really planned on it but more stuff for the truck. Way things typically go, one thing leads to another.

So I notice the coolant's a bit low. Which really it shouldn't be so hopefully no major issue, but it's not disappearing rapidly. Looked a bit grungy, the dexcrap in it is looking funky so figured well no telling the last time if at all it was ever serviced. Since I'm not at the shop and don't have access to a positive flow flush machine trying to do a redneck flush at home. And while I'm at it may as well change the thermostat. Noticed the headlights are looking a bit oxidized also.

So far the latest purchases have been a couple gallons of antifreeze to refill it, several 5gal buckets so I have ones that aren't leaking and tops with pour spouts so I can haul the old crap someplace to recycle it. A couple thermostats since I don't know which style the truck takes. A small fountain pump and some vinyl tubing so I can rig up a steady flow system to flush/rinse the block out. Also allows me to use distilled water vs the typical home job hose kits because my house water is hard as hell and I really don't want it clogging up the radiator or heater core. A couple different types of adhesive in hopes one of them will keep the rear view mirror held on. Some sandpaper, mag polish, buffing pads for the drill and uv sealer so I can sand down and buff out the headlights, clear them up. Some led bulbs for the interior and lic plate lights to fix the flickering ones. All the various odds and ends have me up just over $200. And I wonder why I never have lost vape mod money lmao.

Hubbs showed up the other day with a K-cup style coffeemaker for me. It has a basket to use ground coffee as well. I had just ordered 2 lbs of Eight O' Clock Dark Italian Espresso grind coffee, so I am putzing around with trying to get a decent cup of coffee out of it.

I just ordered decaf k-cups this morning! It's so much cheaper ordering direct from Keurig. And they sell several dark roasts grounds in the bag. 12oz. for $6.74.

I've been using a Keurig brewer for 12 years. I love dark roast too but I have to drink decaf. I don't know what happened but after giving birth to my youngest son I couldn't drink caffeine any more! It makes me bounce off walls. I have a plastic K-cup with a screen around it for grounds also.

I've got a friend who swears by hers, that's how she uses it. With the basket. Not sure how they work, if they use pressure or something. You mentioned espresso grind coffee, is it finely ground? Wonder if that's why it's being a bit tricky. I had another setup, was just a cappuccino/espresso maker that had the glass insert for the water and pressurized then sprayed through the little cup that held really fine grounds. Wasn't for making regular coffee, I just use a cheapo 5 cup pot and mesh basket with regular grounds for normal coffee. She likes it for making a single cup whenever.

The coffee I got may be a little finer than regular grind, but it's not a real espresso grind. Once I opened the bag and took a look at it, I believe it's going to be fine. The basket that came with the coffeemaker has that mesh, too, instead of a wire-type filter. I am homing in on water and coffee measurements; the cup I'm drinking now is almost right. I think the next one I make will be it.

I told my husband, another factor is that ANY new coffeemaker has a plastic-y taste that takes a bit of time to completely go away.

There is definitely a pump in the coffeemaker - you can hear it running when the cup is almost finished brewing. The thing makes a cup of coffee in no time flat, too.

The situation with us is that we just don't agree on what coffee should taste like any more. For years we did, but somehow over about the past five years I have come to like bolder-tasting coffee, and my husband, bless his heart, just doesn't. He's more a Maxwell House kinda guy. We both drink our coffee black, so there is no making up for deficiencies with creamers and sugar. But single-cup setups are better for me because I rarely drink more than one or two cups a day. He'll drink a whole pot of his coffee, so he uses a Mr. Coffee that's programmable, and it starts his coffee at about 4:30 in the morning!

I just ended up going super cheap on a regular coffee maker. I never find myself using the timers and things, the one I'm currently using is some sort of black and decker I think, 5 cup (or whatever size you make) with an on off switch. That's it lol. The basket rides in a holder that has a lip for resting on a cup for pour through and there's a plastic pedestal you can remove along with the carafe to put a travel mug under. I'm along same lines as your husband, just plain old maxwell house or folgers with some sort of a medium to medium/dark blend. Not much into the really bold/dark stuff or breakfast blend. Even for basic bitch coffee still tastes better to me than the stuff at like gas stations.

One of the things I definitely don't miss about being on a tow truck, basically living off shit gas station food and coffee. Bleh. Those quickie marts are fine once in awhile on the road but several times a day, most days, all week. And there's not much else open in the wee hours of the morning. Don't dare get anything that can't be wadded up and stuffed in a pocket, the minute we did there'd be an emergency call. Murphy's Law strikes again. lol.

Some of the stuff I bought off Amazon came in, so far so good. Got everything apparently in one piece (including the 2gal antifreeze, no leaks and the right thing so that's a plus). Couple of the items were to fix up my stinger flashlight. The rubber button cover was about wore through and almost gummy. That swapped out fairly painlessly. Big diff, the button issues seem to be due to the funky switch cover providing no resistance anymore.

Replaced the torn up grip, that on the other hand was some sadistic shit's idea of a joke. I about needed an exorcism to cast out the demons that summoned. So I get this ribbed rubbery plastic whatever the hell material it is tube, shipped flat smashed the way they do battery wraps. Simple enough, peel off old grip. Clean body of light. Put the tail cap on and wet the inside of the new grip with soapy water.

First off, no way in hell that grip was going to slide over the tail cap. Like trying to shove an 18650 wrap on a 21700. Off came the tail cap. Idk what kind of plastic that torch body is made of but the soapy water dried in like 10 seconds. More soapy water. I used a battery to help hold the grip open in a semi round shape. Put the sucker in hot water... put it in boiling water. Lubed the body of the light, the inside of the grip, I had soap bubbles everywhere. Finally I got it part way on, wouldn't slide. So I propped the light against my chest, wrapped both hands around the grip and pulled like mad until it inched on. Finally got it after a couple hours. Ridiculousness. I get the reasoning behind smashing round things flat for packing, but honestly I'm tired of fighting the damn crease and I'd love to beat the clown who came up with the concept. Hopefully it lasts the rest of the light's lifespan cause I don't want to do that shit again.

Some people apparently have never been through those situations like you describe, where what should be a simple thing turns out to be the biggest pain in the ass you've ever experienced (or at least, it seems so at the time). A thing like you describe with that grip is something that would turn me into a raving lunatic, probably give me a panic attack, and send me throwing stuff across the room and/or swearing like a sailor.

As you said, so eloquently, "some sadistic shit's idea of a joke," what a way to describe it.

That kind of shit is why I quit sewing. I never liked sewing, but I'd do it when I had to, if it saved a lot of money or my impossible-to-fit daughters needed new pants when they were really little (every pair of pants that fit around the waist was about 4" too long for their little short legs). But I could get some thread knotted up, or a bobbin that wasn't wound at consistent tension, and the seam wouldn't look right, and I'd start fiddling with the machine trying to fix it all, and end up either wanting to cry or feeling like a mass murderer and just wanting to slaughter anybody within sight.

That's only one example, but there have been many. And I have friends in real life that I could describe that situation to, and they'd look at me like I had three heads and wonder what I got so upset about. Well, just never damn mind. lol

Exactly. Which is why I ordered both style thermostats and even that doesn't guarantee something won't go sideways. Invariably it's the simple shit. I mean how hard is it to order something? Seems an easy process, til you get it. And like so often happens with vapemail, something goes wrong. A bottle of something wet busted, with the antifreeze I was fully expecting maybe a jug of concentrate and jug of premix or jug of dexcool and jug of g05 which is in a similar looking bottle by the same company. I never count on shit til it's in hand. Don't get me wrong, some jobs just suck and I know it going in. Embrace the suck. But when the 'easy' things turn into a whole ordeal.. lol.

Dealt with similar issues at the shop getting wrong stuff or things that didn't fit that should've been bolt in place. Different story when it's someone else's car and wallet. I could source from various vendors knowing if not needed I could easily send back, if it was specialty and needed it overnighted, overnight it. My budget doesn't afford overnight expenses to fix booboos and with a single vehicle it's gotta be ready to go prior to taking it apart. Vastly increases the suck factor when something goes wrong or doesn't fit going back together.

Dog treats: Beef Tendons. Not the stinky bully stick.

They're not cheap but they're healthy and keep Rosie busy for 30-45min. A guy sells them on eBay. It's the only way I can get the big ones. They're 9 inches x 2 inches. I asked Chuck if he could cut them lengthwise since I was shocked at how big they were and his saw wouldn't work. He had to chisel them and came in all sweaty doing only 3 of them. lol She can handle the big ones. I use the cut ones just to satisfy her taste buds when I don't want to give her a whole one. They ain't cheap! $17.99 for 5. I got 15 for $49.65.

Purchased a copper heavy hitter mech with ss asgard mini from the hardware here the other day. Bought a gallon of vg from heartland a couple nights ago. And today I went and bought a new work truck. 2011 F150 with the 3.5l twin turbo v6 ecoboost. Nice used truck. Thing is huge too. Much larger than my last 3 trucks. My last truck shit the bed on me after only about 3 or 4 months. Blew a head gasket among many other things. This is a nice little upgrade.

In a time when so many things have gone and are going wrong for me and my family, it's nice to change the mood a little with a purchase that was needed, and some small things that were wanted. 20201121_080532.jpg20201121_152009.jpg

Dad's still sedated and medically paralyzed and on a ventilator. They paralyzed him temporarily with drugs to help restrict his movements to conserve oxygen. Mom is on a bypap to help regulate her unstable oxygen levels. They thought she would need a ventilator the other morning when they put dad on his, but she has been fairly stable with the bypap. Neither are getting worse as of last night and today, but not really getting better either. It's nerve wracking.
Thank you for asking. I hope all is well on your end!

Drove by a tobacco shop today that I'd been past a number times. This time, saw a new sign in the window advertising vape and so decided to check it out. Lots of cigarettes & cigars but also a display case with Eleaf, Smok, Vaporesso, and other hardware, and several shelves of e-liquid. Bought a bottle of Naked's Lava Flow 12mg. Didn't need it and paid more than I would have ordering online but wanted to support local small business, particularly in these difficult times.

At least vape seems to be expanding. Not that it was a 'vape' shop really, but an old head shop that sold some vape stuff a couple miles up the road closed. I think it was part of a joint property. There was an old gas station that had an issue with their in ground tanks a couple years ago so stopped selling gas. Just stayed open to sell food, lotto tickets, booze, stuff like that. Been around for decades. It sold, within a week or so they bulldozed it flat. Along with it the trailer the owners lived in behind the gas station is gone, the head/vape shop and like half a dozen small storage units off to the side all gone. I think they're putting in a dollar general (in bfe). 4-5mi up the highway is a town with a dollar store, guess it wasn't good enough.
