So I feel old after going to the Supermarket. The Cashier who I have known for years asks me if I am 55 and I told her 58 soon to be 59~! She says Oh you look so young~! Then tells me I need to sign up for the Senior Discount for 5% off on Wednesdays. She has worked for the store for 25 years and known me as long. I told her I worked in this store when I was 18~!

Ran over to Walmart to pick up Propel Waters I had to order online. Strange how there are shortages. They call it Contact-less Pick Up but still had to touch the cart~!

Thank you, Steve. I appreciate it more than you know. I’ve been thinking about getting a weapon. For now, maybe a taser.

We should stick together. There may be bleak times ahead.:hug:

Making Shepherds Pie for dinner tonight. Bought some expensive ground lamb because they didn't have anything else. Free Range type of stuff with no Steroids or Antibiotics. Using fresh potatoes for the topping and this is going to be a goodie~!

Appreciate the sentiment. After seeing the ruckus in D.C. recently though, we'll stay in the hills. I know where we got guns & ammo comes to it. Also know a few good neighbors, know also of two *ahem* plantations up the way. Nobody's gonna bother us.

Lucky you we only get it make with beef hamburger. There's a local meat shop here but prices are just too high. Think our neighbor with the sheep farm owns the shop. Know he owns the feed store.

Yep, he's a millionaire, literally. He made his money honest selling high end electrical parts, transformers and such. He's a master electrician as well. His wife and the boys run the farm, businesses.

Bout half get an impression sometimes either of them might invite me to bed. He's that friendly out in public when we happen to bump into each other, she is yet with a little more reservation. She usually sends him over to say hey. He gets all goofy.

Me and wife's granddad rewired the hovel here. We had him come down and check our work before the inspector come. He told us we were ahead of code in how we did it. Me and her granddad just two dumb old country hicks but we obviously knew enough to know to wire a house safe.

The neighbor guy just chuckled. He said he'd hire us over the hop heads he sees apply every week for lineman jobs. He keeps busy and if he doesn't his wife cracks the whip. *smh* Sometimes pity him for it but then I figure he stays around, he has to love her.

You be welcome. We hide ya good in the hills, woods. Hell we had a bad ice storm and were a week without electric hm, think it was 2005. Any given we had guys from Jeresy come down working electric contracts. They followed deer paths to get to some of the lines. A group of 'em went and got lost. Far as I know, they ain't never come out, even despite someone trying to guide them out.

To be totally honest, i see things getting better. The vast majority of americans are good honest people regardless of our views. It is just a small group of idiots that do all the damage. Sanity will return and we return to normal arguments and then have a beer together.

I hope so. But Biden is half senile. You’re a Democrat? My family is too.

The Left is Vodka from the Russians or maybe Mexican Corona Virus? I will never drink a Corona and I have been saying it for Decades. Why do you put lime in it? To kill the taste of Mexican Piss in the water.............

yeah people are dying like flies in florida, so there is a surplus of real estate now...

They died like that in NY after Cuomo put thousands of elderly folks in nursing homes, though. Sorry, I didn’t mean to veer into politics *and* insult Cuomo!!

As my mom used to say, we shall see! :teehee: But at this point, I’m looking at houses outside of NY since FL and other states don’t have lockdown or mandated vaccines.

Lock downs & mandated vaccines will come to the rest of the U.S.. It will be a soft and temporary martial law. Consider 4,000 deaths daily as a good reason for it.

Doing that is really going to be the only way to get rid of this disease. And no it isn't anything political but rather a universal humanitarian crisis. We need to come together.

Once it is over then we might get back to how things were gradually. Sorry if it seems I'm "towing the system" line on that. When you can see the writing on the wall and it reads sensibly, you figure it's sensible.

Yep, private sector will do it. And if the private sector needs to it will get the government involved. That's how that silly thing called "policy" works. Then, you get scary looking thugs to police which is policy enforced (Policy + Enforcement = police). Local LEOs will do what they can but if need be National Guard is free to act on our soil without breaking pose comitatus act/law of no military engagement domestically.

And should we see repeat of what happened, there's still the 1st battalion of the Army patrolling domestically to quell insurrections. They been paroling since George Bush Jr. served his term. He signed it into law to assist Homeland Security in case of domestic terrorism. Yep, it went in under the second Patriot Act, the one most aren't aware exists.

If aware we try forgetting it does exist. Frankly the first Patriot Act made the second one secured documents bearing something like Q3 classification. That means having even top secret clearance level zulu doesn't let you get "read in" on whatever it is. You need to be some diplomat or something and even then get put on a very select access list.

Yes, the "memory hole" exists. *chuckles*

Don't think it will go that far

Probably not. I mean when private sector holds paychecks, refuses to service or sell goods, well that'll put a crimp in a lot of "trouble" getting started. On the other hand it might well spark trouble as well. Think I'll remain optimistic but still be aware. Keep hope. If you lose that you've lost all. Stand fast.

@SteveS45 , sorry if you find it shocking. Can assure you though 1st Battalion & Second Patriot Act are not "conspiracy theories" but factual. For obvious reasons I cannot cite sources. I'm sure if you do a deep search in news archives online you'll find a clear trail which does offer proof. Although your best bet likely will be the Wayback Machine. Stuff like that is very much "forgotten" online otherwise.
