By the time Johnny Winter and company took the stage as the 27th act at Woodstock, the concert had been going on literally for days. Sunday night had given way to Monday morning and it would still be another 9 hours until Jimi Hendrix would deliver the most jaw dropping performance of his life. Of all of our lives. Starting off the final day of Woodstock was the brothers Winter both Johnny on guitar
🎸
and Edgar on keyboards.
🎹
The Winter brothers Woodstock performance was electrifying, combining what they had learned from the blues masters with the raw energy of rock. Johnny performed extended instrumental jams punctuated by his high-pitched, mournful voice singing blues lyrics as though he had lived every word of them.
Just after midnight on Sunday night/Monday morning, the Woodstock audience got a taste of high-energy blues-rock from one of the best in the business, Johnny Winter.
Day Three, Performer 5: Johnny Winter
Performed Monday morning, August 18, midnight–1:10 am
Johnny Winter Band Members:
Johnny Winter: guitar, vocals
Edgar Winter: keyboards
Tommy Shannon: bass
"Uncle" John Turner: drums
Johnny Winter Woodstock Setlist:
Mama, Talk to Your Daughter
Leland Mississippi Blues
Mean Town Blues
You Done Lost Your Good Thing Now/Mean Mistreater
I Can't Stand It (featuring Edgar Winter)
Tobacco Road (featuring Edgar Winter)
Tell the Truth (featuring Edgar Winter)
Johnny B. Goode (featuring Edgar Winter)

I still do not feel 100% but feel better everyday compared to over a week ago. Since I cook the traditional Thanksgiving turkey and all the trimmings, I am glad that I got this cold/flu out of the way for the most part.
How are you and Jean doing?

They rushed me right on through today cause they caught me tellin their other customers (they call them patients but I call em like I see em) how I was treatin my cancer, I had a big audience but couldn't help myself, they all look so drained from the chemo:facepalm:
Now the wait to get the results.

Yeah they didn't waste any time pushin me through today, sure did impress the other customers there. One told me about his brother who had late stage 3 and only lived 4 and a half years but he did their poison. Yes this could very well catch up with me on down the road but sure a lot better than the 2 to3 years they said I would only live and I feel good about that.

From what I saw with my dad (step-dad) I know I'll never go that route ! I'll die from the disease !

I've never told anyone this, but on his last days here, when mom was giving him morphine to help with the pain. He told her she was killing him. I'm pretty sure she doesn't remember this and I'm certainly not going to remind her of what he said, but it tore her up and also me. He died shortly after he said this.

Naw I ain't gonna let that happen to anyone here if I can help it.

That truly is sad and that is what the doctors tell the spouse or family member to do basically, they have already made their money off of them and that is all they care about, sure isn't the customer.
You're right, best not to open that wound, your Mom is goin through enough right now.

That's the way they did my brother, got what money they could outta him, told him he was rid of it and when it came back 6 months later they said to call hospice care so they could overdose him and they did :facepalm:I sure miss him too, wish he'd of tried what I am doin.
