So little discussion of Yihi SxMini M class and other boards like SX350???

Watch that video I posted with mike vapes, the geeko maker will sell them indivualy for the $55 bones.

Less actually, least for the 50w, but the shipping + paypal charge ($29 total) kinda sucks the "deal" out of a single unit purchase imo.

$40 or 50 tops range is one thing. At $70+, i'd be looking more into just coughing up the extra dough for an authentic if i really wanted the VS form factor that bad.

is that what it cost's with the fee's prer transaction? maybe a group buy is the way to go get like 5 peeps and we all split the fee's evenly. I'd want that zero 60 watt one.

Yeah, Geeko was the $74 total.

With all due respect btw, imo Mike Vapes is full of typical thanks-for-my-freebie-to-review shit at the end of that video. He never saw any factory and they certainly are not making that chip themselves. From the research i've seen done, seems pretty certain they are just buying them directly from a certain manufacturer and simply slapping their own logo on it.

So like i said, if you wanted to go the group buy route that seems the better option imo, with the bonus that you get the 60w chip instead of 50 (apparently with the bigger screen too).

Oh, just noticed you were referring to the Zero instead of the VS earlier lol. Yeah, those were an extra $10 from Geeko (i think, didn't ask tho), so assuming that total on one would be $84.

Manufacturer has them listed at $49 (v2) with a min buy of 5. But they want $10 extra shipping then what Geeko quoted on one. So not sure how that would end up working out between them.

Anyone know why Vapor Shark doesn't carry the Sx Mini anymore? Maybe that memorial day sale got them cut off? I'd be interested to know.
I'm purely speculating, but they have a flask going live in the next few days In the 200-225$ range and they probably don't want the competition or perhaps evolve got cranky bout them selling the competition .
Snit I would love to see and sx350j Vapor Shark

I would consider an SX350 Vapor Flask if they would have went that route...hell even a. SX330 flask!

Good theories on why they stopped selling SX mini though. Another one is that they sold them way below MAP pricing with the Memorial Day sale and they pissed off Yihi.

I thought about jumping on that, but they were only offering the redish-pink one when i checked. Plus i live in Florida and get hit with the sales tax, which cut quite a bit into the discount.

know of anyone having problems with there sxmini mod m? i had mine in joules mode and noticed that it wasn't working right and instead of limiting at my set temp. of 325F the temp. went to 36F I put it up until I could check my Atty. i made sure the Atty was fine i put it back on to set the resistance and my .06ohm coil was reading .010 and after checking several different attys the reading stays to low. find out I'm the only 1...

Spaced or contact coils?

they were all contact coils but when I saw your reply i tested a 2.4ohm vivi nova and the resistance raised to .017 i have also checked all the connections for continuity and the appearance of the board. short of a scope and the know how to use it everything was visually okay. i hate send it in for warranty its really rough looking because of the finish and real world use

Contact coils with Ni200 will do that as well, since ni200 does not build up the nasty aluminum oxide like Kanthal A1 will which acts as an insulator keeping the coils from shorting together. This is why spaced coils are recommended.

Seeing as how you have other attys doing this, sounds like there is something else going on, like the. Insulator in the 510 connector breaking down etc. at least it's under warranty. I'm sure they will get you up and running before you know it

insulator was what I thought... guess I'll send it in for warranty... I have a ipv4 as a backup and is a decent stand in vapor production is equal the only differences are astetic... every time I look at the ipv4 I think that mod looks huge in your small hand...

All black is pretty sexy imo. If i was doing it over that would be my pick.

On a side note, spent the last few days vaping strictly kanthal to test a theory whether some recent skin issues i've been having could be nickel related (since the timing of my switch to full time TC vaping matched up).

Doesn't seem to be the case....but i have to be honest. Kinda left with the reminder that the difference between quality in vape probably has a strong placebo factor working TC's favor imo, and leaving it a little overhyped lol. Forgot how rare it had gotten for me to actually dry hit the wick while dripping (i haven't) , and i gotta admit my cereal vapes pop better for me on kanthal then they ever did on nickel.

Maybe it's a sign i need to try some of these other TC options it seems have gained more popularity lately.

Give Nichrome a try, I've recently switched over from Kanthal and it's better in every respect, it has a slightly lower resistance than Kanthal allowing for a couple more wraps, the extra coil surface area produces a slightly better flavor and increased vapor production...the biggest benefit I've discovered is less gunk build up making a very long lasting build.

I have to laugh when some people would complain about the taste of the Ni200 builds over in the ECF, yet praise how good their ProTank etc tasted (ya know, with the NiCr coil/ni200 legs).

Of course others were ascared of ni200 out of nickel allergy fear, but had no problem with NiCr wound carto tanks, and other devices wit nickel plated brass parts and so on

It all comes full-circle. When some of us started, all we could get were pre-made cartos, clearos and other 510 style attys that were wound with--- yup, you guessed it, NiCr. Even the first rebuild able devices, folks were using NiCr. Then some builder decided to try Kanthal A1, and now the "next generation" of vapers/rebuilders all think that everything out there is/was Kanthal A1....sadly, if you look at what most people are using (outside of these forums which are a small micro community of all vapers), is pre-made coils in devices using, yup. NiCr. Simply, NiCr won't rust.
Strip the protective oil off of Kanthal A1 (I.e. Torching/dry burn) and let it take the boat ride from China, then distribution to store shelves to your home, and it will be either caked with aluminum oxide, brown with rust or both. NiCr coils would have an almost indefinite shelf life. Use an Atlantis? Yup NiCr.

Edit: the key thing that made Kanthal A1 so popular is the higher resistance, making it easier to build a coil that would perform decently and still be above the 1.2Ω min resistance that the high-tech regulated mods of 2013 could fire- definitely not the taste!

I've never been a big fan of box mods but today's vape mail just might be the one that converts me and puts a few mechanical tubes on the used market...the SX is outstanding top to bottom and I'm loving it.

Where did you find the stealth all black mini? Been trying to find a place that has them in stock.

Nichrome is resistance wire and will NOT work in temp control, you'll need nickel wire for tc, it's known as nonresistance wire despite having a vey slight amount of resistance.

Nichrome will not work with tc.

A lot of the prebuilt coil heads use nichrome.

Slightly off topic, I recently switched from Kanthal to Nichrome, the NiCr has slightly lower resistance than the Kanthal allowing you a couple more wraps while still hitting your desired resistance, the added coil surface area produces slightly better flavor and more vapor...but the best benefit is slower gunking of the coil, my builds have looked much cleaner and last substantially longer than with Kanthal.

There's a thread on the Boxer on ECF. Some are enthusiastic about it but I'm not sure they realize the actual size of the device. Or if they do they don't mind a mod 1.5" thick on it's narrowest side. All my devices are under 1" on their narrowest side so pocketing them isn't a problem for me. And although it's a dual battery device the dimensions are about equivalent to 4 - 18650 batteries in square which would be about 36mm x 36mm, not very pocket friendly IMO. Hopefully the designer will come out with a design that removes all the wasted space and is more slimline for pocketing.
  • Dimensions: 80.5mm x 41.5mm x 39.2mm (3.17″ x 1.63″ x 1.54″ appox.)

The other problem with it is that it's built to order. Delivery time is 4weeks from order date. Even the diy kit is 2-3 weeks delivery time. That leads me to believe that they are molding the boxes when ordered.

If you click on the link for the diy kit, there's a video clip on the bottom that shows the box and you can see how thick it is. Looks like it's the size of 2 sxmini put back to back. I have no interest in 150w so I don't need one, but I will say that if I did, I'd rather have that over the sx with that stupid tube on it
