So little discussion of Yihi SxMini M class and other boards like SX350???

I just received my Ti wire from Unkamen. They were out of 26 gauge, so I ended up with 24 gauge. But this stuff is really rough and funky looking - hard to believe it won't rip up my fingers just working with it...
24g is better IMO so much easier to work with and less springy. Dual coil builds remind me of kanthal in size and strength. Also can take more joules and doesn't bounce off temp like thinner wire.

Anyone using the extension tube? I just ordered an SX Mini M, should arrive next week. I considered getting the extension tube, but saw some photos with it on - looks like the SX Mini took a silver dump that wouldn't pinch off.;)

I probably don't need it, but like the idea of extended battery life.
I use the battleaxe at times.. I dig having that as an option for more power when I want it. Like having two mods in one I reckon.
With 75w in singe battery mode I may not use it often but HAVING it available is nice

Not talking about titanium. I'm talking about the super sub ohm resistance of Ni200 and the additional amperage it will take to push a Ni200 build at 75j. Most likely the reason Ni200 option is supposed to be limited to 50j.

75J is available in Titanium mode, and on the IPV3LI 100J is available but only in titanium mode on both. Does that sound right? I am not sure why Yihi is limiting the upgrades to Joule mode to just Ti and not Nickel. Either way I have been vaping on my SXMini all night at 75J at the battery is still at 3/4. TC seems to use less battery.

the ipv3 li is in series so that explains the 100j in ti. I imagine the sx mini could do the same in battleaxe mode granted the software allows it.
They could update the sw to allow higher joules in nickel ,but I think they are waiting for a certain chip maker to release a certain chip so they can have a who's junk is bigger contest lol.

The limitation is actually being applied to Ni200 mode. I think the update is supposed to allow Ti up to 75j and Ni200 to 50j. I believe the reason behind this is due to the resistance of the different alloy wires and the amp draw each would require to operate at 75j.

For example a typical Ni200 coil, 28g, 3mm coil, 5 wraps would come out to about .075Ω
At 75j with a .075Ω coil would pull 31.6 amps

Same coil using Titanium 1, 28g, 3mm coil, 5 wraps would come out to about .36Ω
At 75j with a .36Ω coil would pull 14.4 amps

I'm only referencing single battery mode here as I don't have a extension tube to see what the difference with the update is with dual batteries in series so I cant really compare to the IPV3 Li which is a dual series configuration.

Or maybe they'll do what they did with the original Sx350. Released the board as a 30w then over a few months gradually released firmware updates until the end they released a 60w firmware update. It did require updating the power wires to 16 gauge. Wouldn't it just make other manufactures cry if Yihi just released a 200w firmware update for the Sxmini and only required a update to the wiring?:D I know that's very unlikely, but still would be funny as hell.

I understand what you mean BUT I can build a Ti coil to whatever resistance I want all the way down to the .050 that the SXMini allows. I am running a twisted ti dual coil right now at .075. It is a beast at 75 Joules. Deep flavor yet so much cloud that after 2 second draw you start coughing. Crazy amazing and it flat out wont dry hit. Twisted Ti is amazing. Works equally well on my IPV3li only it goes to 100 Joules.

I don't know, I'm speculating as I've been unable to find any updated documentation on the added feature or specs but I assumed there were new low resistance checks for Ti. Perhaps once we have that we'll know what's intended and what's not.

I guess the other companies just need to evolv a bit faster :)

I tried already-back when evolv were the only game in town. I still have a spool of 28g titanium and I tried it again a while back just to make sure I still felt the same.

I never have and never will speak about something I haven't tried; and, I'm usually 'that guy' to jump on something first.
I preordered a dna40 the day it became available, I picked up a spool of TI when it was first mentioned, and have a dna200 on order with vaporshark and its not even publicly available yet.

Trust me dude, my feelings on TI are from experience bro, not what someone said. to me it tastes like I licked a dogs ass, maybe that's because I already have a plate in my head . That's just me. But anything you see me post is always based on personal experience, I won't speak for anyone else.
Well send me that wire lol.

Anyone got a good suggestion for a place to buy TI wire so I can decide if I like it, or to make sure it does not taste like a licked dogs ass lol.

Really damn I was hoping it would be 75 j for ni200.

It can be on latest firmware. Switch to ti mode, set memory to 75 on slot 1-5 and then switch to ni200. It keeps the setting and works fine.

I Just did a dual coil twisted ti build ant it runs at .06

I was also. Not a fan of the titanium.

As of right now...me either.

Initially was digging it until i was noticing a sore throat effect a day or so in. Wasn't sure if it was yet another issue i was having to vaping non-Kanthal stuff, or simply a general byproduct of overdoing the "weird taste" i was getting from the Ti (i chain vape pretty heavy).

Now that the firmware update is up i'll probably will give it one last go though, but only after thoroughly cleaning a piece of this Spider Silk wire myself and then coiling it up to see if i get a difference.

Failing that, probably end up selling the SX Mini if i end up sticking with Kanthal full time.

Will be curious to see if you notice any difference wit the spider silk. I tried it one last time myself after the update just to see and still got dog ass.
The cats at the shop are using the same stuff and a handful are getting similar experience.... except the one guy who said Its like licking his cats litter box.

Well, it's getting the soap and water treatment now, and a follow up trip to the ultrasonic cleaner.

If i still get the weird taste after that....yeah.

The 51-75 joules in ni200 work around that Wooglin has described does work. I wanted to see if the mini could do 100j for ti in battle axe mode ,but sadly it doesn't :(. I'm finding that these new Morpheus 0.10 ohm nickel coils in my Starre tank vape very well at 60 joules not a dry hit yet.

That's the black chrome, I think they only made a hand full of them and they have been a unicorn for a while.
Maybe they released more of them and that would be cool, would have picked that one up over my black squared.

Weird - I have some 24 gauge from Unkamen (they were out of 26), and the taste is disgusting. Yes, I cleaned it first with alcohol and then with soap and water. This doesn't make sense, because I have a Ti coil in an Ego Mega tank, and I get no taste from it. I'll try giving it a soak in the UC, but I can't figure out why this tastes so funky (spaced coil, never pulsed).

You might take a look at the other forum AmandaD, Sxmini M (Temp Contro) thread, I'm no Ti expert or for that matter even tried it yet but it seems it might be best if we pulse on low power with Ti coils to make sure there are no hot legs or hot spots. And I hear Ukamen has 26g back in stock.

I did see that, thanks! I'm extremely reticent to pulse this stuff, even reading what's been written. There really shouldn't be any hot spots with spaced coils (I believe someone in that thread is using contact coils). I'm not going to order any more from Unkamen until we know a bit more about Ti. And, yes, the 24 gauge I have is way too thick for the RBA on the STM!

Well you might take a good look at your coil anyway to see if you can find anything similar in appearance to that first link. The poster stated when that happens you get a "Tainted flavor" that's very noticeable.

I will, thanks! I guess I'll have to pulse it to see though, because it looks fine - but it sure tastes like something unmentionable LOL

Disgusting! But I guess I'll persevere with it for a while - most particularly because with my Ti OCC coils on the Ego Mega I don't get this taste at all.
Tempted to give it one last shot because of the 75w option. Would love them to male the ni200 run on 75w without the workaround

I finally decided to order some 26g Ti from Unkamen. Don't really have any problem with Ni200 but figured I'd give Ti a shot just to see for myself if I like it better or not. One thing I'm thinking but don't see much posted about it is the increased base resistance of Ti seems to me would be less likely to be as sensitive as the very low resistance of Ni200. And in the same regard the static resistance of the atty should play less of a role than with Ni200, could be totally wrong but that's my thinking. :)

IM ONLY considering trying one last time to get the extra surface area in an RDA and available power with 24g TI.
But after the flavor i got from the 28g im gonna see of a b&m here has any before wasting more money on wire.
Outside of that im happy with the 26g tempered ni200, its just as easy to work with titanium. In even gonna try single coil 24g Nicole and see how that works out.

I experienced the exact same thing. If I pull the coil out of a factory Joyetech CL replacement to install in something else, it gives good flavor. If I duplicate the coil using my wire and install it, it is terrible. Nothing makes a difference. I wonder if Joyetech is using a less pure Titanium wire. Would grade 2 or grade 3 titanium provide better flavor and still maintain a linear temperature coefficient? The Chinese are notorious for using the cheapest material that works for an application.

My 24 gauge is just pretty unworkable in an RTA. Do you want to swap your 28 for my 24? (I got mine from Unkamen and have made 2 coils with it!)

Appreciate the offer, but I promised the 28 to someone. Thank you though!
I'm really happy with the 26g or 28g ni200 on an RTA in single coil though.

idk, never been a fan of single coil rta's. my first ever rta was dual. 28g tempered Ni200 works just fine in a billow v2. twisting it on the other hand confuses sx.

Yeah, those do look nice. Last orchid I picked up (months ago) is the mini with the fat chimney and it's super short.

That's the reason I haven't picked up the billow or silverplay and so on is because they are so tall with the air flow control. I drill out the air holes in the orchid and I wouldn't want any less so the added height of air flow control counts a lot of the newer orchid dna toppers out.
...And the fasttech orchid mini was like $10 or something like that ;)
