10 minutes of entering and re-entering my jury duty badge number and birth date on my county's phone system I finally got through and I don't need to report tomorrow... It kept telling me that I didn't enter the correct date. Ummmmmmm, I've had the same birthday for 68 years, I'm pretty sure I know it. My wife came down to pour me a glass of wine so I asked her to watch me enter the info, miracles of miracles, it finally accepted it. GRRRRRR.

But it's a good thing since I don't need to drive the 35 miles to courthouse tomorrow.

I sure hope it's not lather, rinse, repeat tomorrow @5PM...

And the warning has been lifted, just a severe thunderstorm warning for the next hour. Even the sever storm warning has been dropped. Very little rain so far, but sounds like we will still have rain for a couple hours, but it ended up being much ado about nothing.

Guess that is my good thing for the day. Didn't have to spend all night in the basement wondering if Freddy was creeping around down there.
You did much better than we we did then

Good mornin Family:wave:
I got to witness a real miracle in a way. When I posted last I was gettin ready for a nasty storm and that's what we got, of coarse accompanied by a tornado that went right over our house, we were on the edge' It topped trees off blew some over and pulled some up by the roots, oh and it splintered 2 telephone/utility poles ( first time I seen one splinter up close, folded over street signs,, pulled siding off some, tore my soffit/facia/gutter off one side of the house,.

From my yard I can see 9 trees either pulled up by roots, leanin on other trees, snapped off about 25 up, some were 75 foot tall. There's trees layin on cars houses and one poor motorcycle that now looks like a sway back mule; We just an hour ago got power back, since Monday 7pm.

Honestly it was the coolest thing ( yes I'm weird and missed my calling as a tornado chaser but anyway when the tornado went over Jean went crazy on me cause I wanted to see it till the last safe (well what I would consider safe) minute, even when the soffit ripped off I stayed and got yo see it actually go over the house, the rotation was was strong glad it didn't touch down, did enough damage. It went on to the next town and rattled their doors too.

So my good thing for the last few days is that we are still alive and didn't suffer the damage we coulda and for today good thing is we finally got power back after 3 days:bliss:

Poetry is music, even if there is no melody, at least in my mind. So I found this poem and thought this would be the perfect place to share it.

You start dying slowly ;
if you do not travel,
if you do not read,
If you do not listen to the sounds of life,
If you do not appreciate yourself.
You start dying slowly :
When you kill your self-esteem,
When you do not let others help you.
You start dying slowly ;
If you become a slave of your habits,
Walking everyday on the same paths…
If you do not change your routine,
If you do not wear different colours
Or you do not speak to those you don’t know.
You start dying slowly :
If you avoid to feel passion
And their turbulent emotions;
Those which make your eyes glisten
And your heart beat fast.
You start dying slowly :
If you do not risk what is safe for the uncertain
If you do not go after a dream
If you do not allow yourself
At least once in your lifetime
To run away from sensible advice
Don't let yourself die slowly
Do not forget to be happy!
~ Pablo Neruda
(Chilean poet who was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1971)
