Hey Jimi and Kad my dinner is ready, play with you later

Enjoy. I'm gonna try some sweet curry roast chicken and veggies tonight, but haven't gotten started yet. Not quite sure how to make everything work together, some of it will roast faster than the rest, but I'll figure it out I hope.

Cook it together in a crock pot or a roaster maybe
Chicken, taters, cauliflower, that part probably works OK together. But I have zucchini I was going to add and I'm afraid it will turn to mush if I roast that at the same time. Thinking I maybe wait to add it till about halfway through?

The forum was sucking today. My wife wanted a watermelon margarita and since we had some left over from yesterday I got some watermelon juice and made her what ended up being three. I prefer straight shots so that what I had. Wednesday was national tequila day so what the heck, close enough.

I'm still collapsed from Saturday. I helped my friend cook for her home wedding reception (they're already living together). We made finger sandwiches and petit fours. Mother-in-law-to-be helped with potato salad and veggie tray. That was the first time I ever made petit fours. It's an easy fancy. Just bake a vanilla cake, which was ready and cooled when I got there, split it top from bottom, spread the middle with jam, lift the top back on, cut it into squares, and frost all the pieces with melted fondant. Then add decorations. We just used mini royal icing flowers to decorate. Fortunately she'd ordered a bakery wedding cake, so I didn't have to worry about wrecking something like that.

Then I came home and changed clothes, attended the small church wedding, then the small home reception, kept watch over the CD player and music because people will do horrible things to your equipment and your discs. I threw confetti at the bride and groom as they left for the airport, then stayed to tend to the guests who remained, helped the mo-in-law clean up and shut down. I got home late late night after being up very early that morning. Napped a lot yesterday.

Whew. But it was fun. Doing things yourself is memorable, hands on, fun, shared time and friendship.
