Evic VTC goes mini

Saw that the Evic VTC is coming out in a mini version. Replaceable battery, no more jog wheel and upgradable firmware seem to be the major differences compared with the current version.

The only place with a price so far that I've seen is Vape Royalty as a pre-order: http://www.vaperoyalty.com/joyetech-evic-vtc-mini-mod/

Short video showing it, but not giving any details:

I would pay no more than $45 for this mod.
I would have to say it was kinda of shocking to see this pricing. They've taken out their battery cost so I don't see this as a good deal. I'm bet online vendors will start a lowest price war and it will come way down. It looks like a good little seller at the $50 price point.

I really like my evic-vt, and be tempted by this one, but as already said, price is to high especially as they are saving without a battery now, when they come down to $50, then I will buy one, and with how quickly things move, probably won't have to wait to long.

$40 and I will jump on it. Throw in a coupon code to bring it down to $32 or so and I will certainly buy to try it out.

For $24 I got the iStick 40TWC shipped from an American vendor...so I'm not sure if triple the price is worth the the 20 extra watts and the ability to run Ti coils. But I will certainly keep an eye on this!

Yeah I think in 3-4 weeks after release it should drop down in price. But such high initial price would just stop people from pre-ordering.

Where did you get the iStick for that cheap?

I think it comes with a battery. I saw it listed as an 8v 5000mah battery on heavens gifts and efan, which is replaceable. Leads me to believe it's a lipo.

i am very interested in this piece. i love my evic and drool at the thought of a smaller one, w/ replaceable cell, and firmware upgradability. im all over this for $60 or less.

I think some sites used the description of the old VT which makes it sound as if it has a built-in battery. I read an updated description somewhere that said it took a replaceable 18650 (which would make sense for the size - no way that box has a 5000 mah battery in it!)

Not sure that it would be any better than the D2, so I'll hold off for now.

VapeNW has a $5 coupon code on their notes section of their review video on youtube. Takes it down to $43.99. I would love one, I wanted the Evic VT original, but I have seen the original popping up on sale for $50-55 all week. So really hard to consider it a good deal considering it's another $11 for 2 batteries for their mini version, and the original already includes the batteries. Price point it too high to me. However, it is a deal when compared to other VV/TC devices requiring a separate battery like the IPV D2 or Sig 75w. However, they are also higher watt devices, and that variable adds to their value. It will be interesting to see what happens with this mini, I am going to watch for a few weeks before making up my mind. Unless an AMAZING deal comes along ;)

Which is why I'm waiting for a bigger price drop. I'll probably be in for $40 shipped.....but if I can get it around $32 or so shipped I'm certainly in. But at the current price there are better options out there.

I bought mine at the same place @2c5000 did, and I expected it to already be here, but tracking info says it's due to arrive Thursday... I'm a little frustrated by the delay!

stalking the usps tracking page on my VTC and its stuck on "arrived at" status. so as of 5:30 am it was just down the street from my place at my local PO. that page however has not updated since. i expect to see it when i get home, but i suppose the tracking may be accurate and its being held up for some reason.

@DevAuto... any updates on your order?

Mine still says "Arrived at Memphis TN". :( Still a couple states away ... getting pretty bummed by this, I expected to have it before leaving on a trip tomorrow ...

I got mine yesterday from the ecig.com sale. I now have a single white mod standing out from all the black ones.

Still getting used to it, but I can say for sure I like it a lot better than the eVic VT. Maybe it's just that they got rid of the goofy toggle but with the mini I can get it dialed in pretty close. However to make a Nautilus nickel work I had to bump the temperature to 120 degrees higher than the same tank on an SX Mini. At first I didn't like the included tank since I am a MTL vaper and it seemed much too airy. After some experiments, it is now performing pretty well.

But the kicker is that I never got it even close using the TI setting - but running the TI coil in the NI profile works OK. Again, I had to offset the temp setting by 100 degrees or so, but regardless of what the display reads it is giving me a good, mostly consistent vape.

What do you have the SX Mini set at? I'm not sure why there is a 120 degree difference, that is quite a bit. Ti didn't work with the Ti setting, but using the Ni work-around is fine? What's the point of having the setting if it doesn't work?

I guess the bottom line is that it doesn't matter what the settings are set at if you can find a way to dial in your vape preferences. Thanks for all the info!

When did you order from ecig.com? I ordered the same time as @2c5000 ... and it still isn't here :(

I made the mistake ordering from cigabuy, and didn't realize it wouldn't ship for 15 business days, was a good price, but seeing close to the same price at US vendors who do have it in stock, so I sent a message to cigabuy to cancel and get a refund, so can order somewhere else and join in the party.

Congrats! Looking forward to hearing your initial thoughts on it!

ok... i gotta say... i REALLY like the VTC! first impressions are great. build quality is very good from what i can tell so far. the button is far nicer than that on the VT. the VT button was nice, but it was kind of loud, could get stuck, and felt hollow. this button is much more quiet and cannot get stuck. the size is exactly what i was looking for. the finish is a matte black and has an almost stick to it. feels really nice in the hand. obviously the -/+ buttons are an upgrade over the toggle switch. the battery cover is great also. it reminds me of the slide of a handgun sorta. the magnets are damn strong for their job.

unlike Dragger, i have been able to get the Ti setting to work much more accurately than on my VT. my VT had to be set much higher in Ti mode than it did in nickel mode. but this new mod, at least mine, is working accurately in both modes. overall i think this is a huge improvement over the VT. and if the firmware upgradeability is worth a shit then i think joyetech has a real winner on their hands here. easily my favorite mod to date. i cant put it down.

i was able to cancel my order pretty easily. i believe i simply replied to my order confirmation asking for it to be cancelled. and because they are still waiting on them, they were able to do it no problem. then again i havent checked to see if the funds have indeed been refunded, but i did get a confirmation.

It sounds fantastic, I can't wait until I get mine! Probably going to be delivered tomorrow, but I will be travelling for the next three days so I won't see it until I get home ... :(

Mine is scheduled to arrive Friday from VaporDNA along with a spool of SS wire. So jazzed to hear 2c5000's first impressions. Thanks so much for posting your initial thoughts. It looks like we all backed a winner. All we need is a firmware upgrade from Joyetech that will add SS TC and this thing will sell out as fast as they can make them. I'm glad I ordered the full kit, if only to have a small tank for pocket carry with better airflow than my Lemo Drop.

im just stoked to have been one of the first to share my thoughts on it here.

the only thing i can find as a negative is the ribbon for pulling the cell out. its far too long. needs to be trimmed and singed. or removed completely. i can remove the cell with my fingers so i dont really need the ribbon. it just gets in the way. this is such a minor complaint and extremely easy to fix.

other than that this mod is everything i wanted it to be. i think i may have a device that may curb my VAS just a bit!

EDIT*** one more negative... this mod does not come with a silicone sleeve like the VT did.

I've had mine for a few days now, totally love this mod and prefer it over my DNA devices.
The finish is super sturdy and the device itself performs brilliantly - one of the German reviewers has tested TC on the VTC and it's supposedly right on the money.

I can wholeheartedly recommend the VTC based on it's performance and battery life.

Got a email from cigabuy this morning, saying they would cancel my order, so went straight to ecig.com and ordered the black kit for $41.80 shipped, and already got shipping notice, so hopefully should have it by Monday or Tuesday next week, cheaper than cigabuy and will get it a lot quicker too :D

can you link to this? the more i use mine the more i love it. i think the TC on this version is more accurate than on my VT. i may sell my VT to get a white VTC.

nice! when i saw the ecig.com link... i had to call them to confirm they actually did have them in stock and were shipping. it wasnt until a bit later i realized that sweet vapes and another us vendor had them the same day. cigabuy was easy to work with regarding the order cancellation. no sweat.

Ordered mine can't wait!!! Got new everything on the way new batteries, new charger, new Spider Silk Ti wire, The New Cthulhu V2, and the VTC feel like a little kid it a toy store right now!

what color?

oh now im thinking about putting a custom finish on one... cerakote perhaps...? there are two little screws inside the battery sled that i believe are what hold the sled to cover the innards. i wonder if the screen (glass part of the mod) can be removed easily...?

oh and what about patina? oh boy...

I ordered the black because I am a basic color guy but I wouldn't mind 3D printing a new case for it maybe do a whole Lovecraft theme box I'll have to see how hard it is to take the VTC apart when it gets here.... after I use it for a week or two!

I hadn't heard anything about the Cthulhu v2 so I searched for it. Low and behold, it comes with a single coil deck! I may have to get the thing.

PS: I hope vaping on it isn't part of a summoning ritual.
