Yeah, mine came with 2 CL's as well. But, I wanted to make sure I could use the CLR so I could just rebuild them. They work the same, you just don't use that seemingly "important" o ring on the top of the CL. I think it's built in to the CLR. I like the way the RBA vapes, but I always have some type of leaking. Sometimes a lot and sometimes a very little, but just not comfortable putting it in my pocket. No leaking with the CLR.

I don't have to PM. Sometimes I forget we speak freely on here :) I got them from World Of Vape for 9.75 plus shipping. Best price I could find at the time. The shipping was super fast, just 2 or 3 days.

I am not rebuilding and won't be using the RBA part of it, just using the replaceable coils

You don't need the cap o-ring for the CL coils?

So I take off the rubber top and the old ones will work on the CL base? they don't seem to be threaded for the new base

I only have the old ones, and I use them with the (slightly leaky, depending) RBA bases.
No, the old "CS" base will not work with the CL or CLR coils. If you look at the pic Whiskey posted above you can see that ring, just above the positive pin (not removable) and it won't fit. But with the CLR coils the "insulator" that is pointed out on the top of the CL coils is built in to the coil. So, with the CLR coils you just screw them in the CL base as is.

@Whiskey as far as 1.0 or .5, guess it's preference. I have only used the 1.0 and am happy with it. My thought would be you would really reduce battery life with the .5 since you would be running them at a higher v/w. I am running the 1.0 at 16.5 or so and getting about the same battery life as I did with the original Egrip.

The RBA base, ok, I have the older original bases and the new CL bases, so there is a separate RBA base?
Edit- never mind LOL

I know they don't fit LOL That's why I haven't bought any :) (And why I keep eyeing the new ones on FT!)

Yes! The RBA base works in all three models. The original, the original OLED and the new OLED.

Here is a picture I took of the 2 coils, confirm for me that the one on the left is a old style coil and the one on the right is the new CL coil
download_zpswbuue9av.png
You are correct. That is the CS (L) the CL (R). And, there is also an RBA base. Now, just to make it interesting, you can also use the CLR coils which are basically the same as the CL except you can rebuild them if you want. :)

I got mine for about $6 each with free shipping from the other place, took about 10 days and they threw in a free bottle of juice in mine, so I went with them:)

I also got 3 of them from the same site you used, I didn't get free shipping but I did get a free bottle of juice. Shipping was crazy since it was coming from Greece. Nice Joyetech is selling them in the US now. You are using the CL and not the CLR right? How do you like the CL? I'm using the CLR and loving them. I don't build, but I do change the cotton and I love the taste and love there are no leaks. Thanks @Whiskey

Handy hint....when it seems like your coil (replaceable coils) is running out of steam, check to make sure it's screwed into the base all the way, for some reason mine loosened up in there twice now, screwed it back in and full vape after that.

Is anyone having a problem with the white cap for the CLR, breaking? Or has anyone had any leaks using the CL base?

I saw one thread or post where one leaked at a meeting, I assume that was what the problem was with that? I haven't had any issues yet with mine.

No leaks at all? I have had a few, using the CLR! Has your upper white silicone cap broke on you at all. I have been through 3 of them already. Are you using the CL or CLR coils?

None have cracked leaked or broken I use both, one on each Egrip, I have 2 of those mods going right now with the 2 different coil and base types

You just need to screw it in firmly, but not hard, I think that is what is tearing the white seal that some are talking about

I have one set up with the CL using the white silicone on top of the coil. No leaking. I didn't use the silicone ring with the CLR (couldn't make it fit) and no leaking there either. I think I like the flavor and vapor just a "bit" more with the CLR.

That's interesting! I'll have to try the CLR without the cap. I haven't tried the CL coil yet. I would think the CLR would be better. Thanks for the info. I just get an occasional drip, it looks like it is coming from around the base on both.

I had that happen a lot with the original using the Aspire heads. It has to have something to do with the airflow. If one of them totally gives out I may try to take it apart and see what's going on. :)

@Whiskey, can you post a pic using the silicone ring with the CLR heads? I'd like to see how you did it. I can't get the ring to fit. I read somewhere that you don't use it with the CLR, but I'm hearing others say you should!

It takes some fiddling to get the ring on the CLR and it fits, but after a few times taking it off an on the ring breaks around the cap of the coil. It's very weird. What ohm coils are you using @rolltidevaper ?

I'm using the 1.0 CLR. Haven't rebuilt one yet, But, my egrip CL has read it down to .9 and working great.

Edit: I run it at about 17-19 watts, seems to be my sweet spot

Dimplegirl

Member For 4 Years
I'm using the 1.0 CLR too about 13 watts, 1 of mine is reading .9 also. I need to re wick tomorrow I'll take a picture of the cap on a CLR and the broken one to show you where they are splitting. I might try and use it without the cap on one of mine. I run 2 eGrips all day.

I love mine! I'm traveling right now and I brought 2 with me and my Sigelei 150wtc. I keep grabbing the eGrip. I did try to charge it with the usb port in the car. Didn't work. Said it was charging, but I think it was so slow I couldn't do pass through. No biggie, but would have been nice!
