The bottom line is to stay tobacco free, and to me that's priceless...
And that says it all right there! Sorry if I'm coming across as confrontational, Break, it's not my intention. Everyone should have the right to vape how they choose, and I'll fight for that, as I'm sure we all will.
Honestly I'd rather believe that it's just a happy coincidence for juice outfits that many vapers adopt the DL style of vaping. Although I have to chuckle when anyone asserts that DL is the "proper" or "best" way to vape, and is the inevitable destination for new vapers once they've cut their teeth on an eGo kit or similar. Especially considering that most of this brand of talk I've overheard inside my own local vape shops, many of which also happen to sell their own max-VG house blends. Hey, it's smart business. Sell them the 200W boxes, the Claptons, and the max VG and they'll be back sooner rather than later. I get it. It's not my place to judge, and so I don't.
The only thing that concerns me is that in the trending market there's not much consideration being given to either smokers or budget-conscious vapers, people who want to quit smoking not only because it's killing them, but also because it's a brutally expensive habit. I don't hear any of the guys behind the counter saying things like, "You could try this little 20W box and a Nautilus Mini, bump your nic level up, and get by just fine on 3-5 ml of 50/50 per day!" Most of them probably don't even
have a fucking Nautilus to sell, because someone decided the Nautilus was outdated tech since the mouthpiece isn't compatible with the exhaust pipe from a '72 Ford pickup. I'm speaking in very general terms here. Maybe all of my shops are just shit lol...
I have little doubt that new vapers are being groomed at many shops to accept that sub-ohming and DL is
the way to vape, and whether or not there is any element of self-interest involved on the part of the shop is irrelevant to my concern. Of the four vape shops that are local to me, only one maintains what I would consider to be a fair selection of devices catering specifically to low-power MTL users. Mostly I see five glass cases full of 75+ watt devices, 650 mechs, wide-bore RDA's, and sub-ohm tanks. Maybe half a case with a handful of overpriced shitty eGo knock-offs and Evods/CE4's likely left over from an overly optimistic order placed back in 2012, and just
maybe a poor orphaned iStick or two (available in either hot pink or sparkly blue). There is a distinct lack of moderately powerful
and reliable equipment on offer at most of the shops I've been to.
Perhaps we're seeing this because vaping has become popular to such an extent that smokers can be safely marginalized in favor of the "repeat business" crowd of enthusiasts and seasoned vapers who know exactly what they want before they even walk through the door. "Just press the button and drag on it like it's a cigarette" was how I got off the smokes, and I maintain that just pressing the button and dragging on it like it's a cigarette is
still the best way to get the majority of smokers to cross over. Restrictive airflow is not a bad thing. It's simply another thing, and it's an
important thing for many people who are addicted to cigarettes.
And THAT, friends, is what we need to be focused on. Not how big or small our stupid clouds are. Not how more nic and less vapor is better, and not how less nic and more vapor is best. I move that we stop caring about this shit, effective immediately. We need a wide range of options to satisfy a wide range of preferences, and the industry isn't doing a good job of providing us with that right now. From our vantage point, China is doing a fine job of making exactly what vapers are asking for. Problem is, there's an entire segment of the market, a segment which is inarguably
the most important, that doesn't even
know what to ask for. We need more options, and they need more representation and support in the community. Fuck you and your massive clouds, and fuck me and my self-righteous indignation. We all suck vapor.
We need more soldiers in this army, and any half-assed field commander will preach the importance of combined arms on the battlefield.
