I was debating posting this at midnight, but I don't know if anyone, myself included, will be on at midnight, so even though it's traditionally a midnight song here you go.

Awesome- thanks for sharing your singing and uke playing(even with your hurt thumb! Happy New Year !

That's beautiful.

I don't like going out to be with the drunks on New Years Eve anymore, but I don't know if I'll make it to midnight in this desk chair. I do plan to play here some.

Since we're in various time zones, I'm serving yall some enchiladas and tacos now, but will have more when it gets later on the west coast (Goph).

I'm good with the enchiladas and tacos!

I made a couple of bottles of Ghost pepper hot sauce yesterday. I found a few peppers still growing chopped them up with some tomatoes, apple cider vinegar, garlic, and onions and cooked everything until soft. Ran it through the Ninja blender and bottled them up.

Japan's majority religions are Buddhism and Shinto, but there are Christians. In any case, they do Christmas there, restaurant Christmas, department store Christmas, etc, with some surprises in interpretation. I remember hearing on NPR many years ago about how one year there was a department store window display of Santa Claus nailed to a cross, with his elves frolicking below.

Anyway, I heard on a podcast that THE Christmas dinner in Japan is a bucket of KFC. It's apparently a very strong tradition. In fact, if you want to pick it up on Christmas day you have to order a month in advance. I just watched an unboxing of that meal. It included a commemorative ceramic plate with the year 2024, the rim of the plate decorated with Christmas images such as ornaments, reindeer, etc. The Christmas meal includes a white cake. This year an option for a side dish was lobster lasagna.
