Speaking of cookis....
LMAO....:teehee: Made over 10 dozen chocolate chip cookies....:gaah: :teehee: All of them turned out hard.
I had already mixed up most of the ingredients and come to find out I didn't have enough shortening. I couldn't just run to the store 'cause my vehicle is broken down right now. And, just can't run to neighbors....everyone was at work. Even if they weren't, I just don't do that sorta thing.
The cookies were for a school, a classroom and staff, heck, don't even know if they would accept cookies from an outsider. Also, for my bro n law, my bro and nephew. Threw them away....the story doesn't end here, lol....
The next day, made another batch of the cookies, lol....already had some on the cookie sheets ready for the stove. I did this :facepalm: :facepalm: :facepalm: I forgot to put in all the flour :gaah: :teehee: . Really don't know if I could've added the rest seems how I had the chocolate chips in the batter. But hey, they didn't turn out hard ;) :teehee: and only six dozen cookies. They are not going to anyone. ....UGH.... They will slowly go hard by themselves and end up in the trash like all the other ones. :giggle:
Good thing I don't have anymore chocolate chips :teehee: who knows how many more batches I could screw up :teehee:

I'm not laughing at you. I'm laughing with you. That's why I don't bake. You get one chance to get it right, and it all moves too fast and turns me into a ball of nerves.

If you end up with hard cookies, I suggest you can grind them up and put them in the freezer, to spoon over ice cream in summer. From what you've described, you didn't burn them.

I've always heard chocolate chip cookies have to come out of the oven when they're not done yet, and then their residual heat gets them done outside of the oven.

Oh, I know, Dear Bliss Doubt :) I was hoping y'all would get a kick out of it. I've never screwed up sooooo many cookies, lol.
Got a new oven and having a hard time figuring out the heating. Though, made My Guys favorite peanut butter cookies and for some unknown reason they turned out just fine.
That's a good idea, thanks! Unfortunately, I/we don't eat ice cream very often and it usually sits inside the freezer and goes bad.
Yeah, I never bake chocolate chip cookies as long as the recipe calls for...always take them out early. I even turned down the heat by 25°. Just don't know what the heck happened, lol. Going to put myself through more torture....will be getting more chips and making some more chocolate chip cookies. They have not WON the War :teehee: never give in never surrender, lol , I'll keep on making them until I get a batch right.

We've all been there and done that in some way or another. Like me the last time I smoked ribs, I forgot to check the pellet hopper and it was close to empty and not feeding the fire well. Eventually got them done, but not quite how I like them...

Been havin a tough time with this one, went to lungs yesterday and I haven't been able to vape since:cry: it's a real bummer but feelin better today, still can't vape but fever is almost gone and some other symtoms have eased up a little
Last night on the news I seen it was -11 but it's warmed up to -1 w/30 mph winds:(
Looks like it's headed straight to Snaps house:oops: Just what they need there to top off all the snow they have had:(

We are in the middle of a horrible blizzard here- high winds and blowing snow- now 11F, it was 47F here early this morning. I lost power, my biggest fear of being in this house without Clif(he always worked the generator), but the power came back on and my neighbors insist if it happens again they are making me go to their house, they have an automatic whole house generator.

All my cookies and fudge turned out great even the Christmas Sugar Cookie Cutouts and yes @Bliss Doubt I use the hard frosting on mine, @2WhiteWolves sorry to hear of your chocolate chip cookie fiasco, maybe it's the recipe? Took me a while to find the best one that I have now used for 10 years of baking. Cookies are all my Dad asks for for Christmas, well that and his KFC dinner, plus my family loves cookies as well and didn't want to let them down.

They said it was headed you way on the weather last night, we're just about outta the snow now gettin below zero temps and 40 to 50 mph winds, they are sayin lots of power outs and blowin snow, I am stayin inside no matter what it does. Wind chills -40 to -45:facepalm:
