Spent yesterday with my daughter and grandson making tamales. I think we made around 20 dozen with red chili. We are going back over today to make some more, this time with green chili and some cinnamon sugar desert tamales. I have been officially deemed an expert at spreading the masa on the corn husks by my daughter's mother-in-law. :giggle: It's lots of work, but sooooo worth it!

I wish I could get the masa, the only time I did it I had it way too thick so I got the bright idea of puttin a little more oil in the mix:crazy: :huh::facepalm::blech: and now, when cooked, the dough doesn't firm up and is all mushy:giggle:.

Yep, still pretty bad here storm wise- at least I have power. I had to walk to my neighbors today thru snow drifts, high winds and minus zero wind chill to deliver my Christmas cookies to them. Everyone has been so kind. I make these cookies for all of them every year and this year is no different. Yay my family will be all here at my house for Christmas and I am looking forward to that.
Oh no- I was hoping you were feeling better Jimi- yeah that congestion hangs on for a while, along with the cough. Took me a few weeks to get over that flu.

More cooking for me- I am making salt roasted Potatoes that will be smothered in cheddar cheese and bacon, homemade baked macaroni and cheese, green bean casserole- my son is smoking 2 turkey breasts I gave him. Plus all my cookies for dessert. I have a cheese platter,pepperoni and crackers, chips and dip. the whole deal. I want this to still be a special Christmas. We eat tomorrow starting at 12:30- then open the gifts, hope the kids can wait till then, lol!
