I'm glad you used something with the word "on" because it allows me to post this one, "Eyes on the Prize". I don't know of any full length release by the Emmaus Singers, nor anybody else who has recorded this song, but it is so beautiful. It starts out too low, I think because it was behind dialogue in the movie Green Card, but it comes up to full volume.

Hard to believe Bessie Smith ever released commercial records. Her music was outrageously subversive, sexy and wild. Here's how you had fun in Harlem on a Saturday night in 1933, while keeping the police off your tail. Check your razors and your guns at the door, be clean when the wagon comes. Then halfway through she swaps out the pigfoot & beer for gin, the big ol' bottle with the handle, and other goodies. Crazy.
