The problem with that is that it's not just heat the rod pound, pound, pound.
Making a good sword requires tempering.
Heating the metal, bending it and heating and pounding it again and again and repeat and repeat...
Then ya gotta sharpen the sucker. Then you gotta pound it some more and sharpen it again.

Hardships? No shit!

i will take up for my friends when i need to. but i am a gentle soul behind all the bitchy bluster. i can't take all the bickering, backstabbing, name calling, and vitriol. i am done with all that unless something extraordinarily pisses me off. :)

Yep.. Got enough stress in my life.. Come on here to lighten up and get away from it..But now that this place is more stressful, I am heading off to do other things more and more.

Anyway, this forum is still very new as a far as forums go. The larger it gets, the more there will be the need for at least some moderation. Everyone is getting tired of all this shit bickering that's happening every other day. I see less and less about vaping and more and more about tit for tat grudges that keep going back and forth. There's going to come a point when something'll have to be done about it, that's inevitable.

I think I got caught up. Not going to go looking for any shitstorms. I don't even understand why people would say something on the internet to someone that they wouldn't say IRL. Maybe I'm too much of a hermit and people really are that shitty to each other. But not here, so I'll just stick to the AU and a couple other threads.

So good morning AUvians. I tried curing myself yesterday with couch, Sudafed and Netflix. Worked pretty good. Back to scraping glue off the floor today.

yeah, and the ones that amaze me the most are the ones who brag about being just as big of assholes in real life as they are online. something to be proud of for sure.

i tend to agree. i think the secret is getting moderators who aren't egocentric (and stay that way). otherwise, as we saw at ECF, the power goes to their heads and they think of themselves as little Gods.

God as much as the few Mods here are Overworked and Under-respected how can they help but become eventually Jaded and desensitized. You can't keep sending Barefoot people out to tamp down the random fires of dissent and expect then to remain unburned in the process. (not you specifically but "Us")
