I just like to mention and share knowledge - but don't ever want to the jerk that won't let it go LMAO

I like talking to you about stuff, but I don’t want to be an alternative healing leech. (As helpful as leeches are... lol)

Your neighbor’s yurt sounds cool, I’m sorry she’s moving.

Checking in!

Another day of cleaning out the restaurant. Getting close to done. One big push for all the large equipment, then a day or two of cleaning....then.....all the paperwork, phone calls and meetings. Ugh.

I also have a meeting of sorts tomorrow. Another restaurant person reached out to talk about “future plans”. We’ll see what that means. They’re the second person to reach out about “future plans”. I have no future plans. Hahaha!

We’re all healthy and good here. Hope y’all are the same. Thinking about ya!:blowkiss:
I read about a face book survey thing where around 25%? of small businesses were not going to reopen.

Places open in New Orleans but no one showing up, restaurant reservations down 90%.
It is very bad but I do not think the economy is in any way take off roaring as some seem to think.

Again I am so sorry about your dream...
Many dreams shattered over this pandemic.

Should be another SSDD day like yesterday.

The new computer is working well and is significantly faster than my old laptop. It was the SSD drive that was DOA and causing the problems. It has a USB C 3.1 port so I ordered a 128G USB C flash stick to play around with Linux distros. This critter only has a 256G SSD drive so there isn't a lot of room for playing with virtual.

Me, my wife, my kids, and the critters are all doing fine.

Morning!

All is well here, going to hit 100* today. Seems early for these temps. I would much rather be in the 70 - 80* range.

Hubby is getting better all the time with his lures, keeps him happy. Jessie is always interested when he brings in his latest, lol.
She had a moth last night, so funny to watch her. And she doesn't care what is in her way when she chasing something! She cleared my end table of my coffee mug, 4 vapes, and my phone, was a mess. Did not slow her down an iota. She finally caught it about 2am.

Stay safe and healthy

My sister and her cat, Bitsy, lived with us in Savannah some years ago. People who've ever lived in the (deep) Southeast are familiar with a critter called a Palmetto Bug. It is like the cockroach from hell, the Incredible Hulk of cockroaches, can and will fly right into your face when you turn the bathroom light on in the middle of the night. Thrives on insecticide, laps it up like it's honey or something.

Bitsy loved playing with Palmetto Bugs. Matter of fact, she loved EATING Palmetto Bugs. Mornings, we'd find a stray leg or part of a piece of "shell," whatever you call its exoskeleton, little gnawed bits and pieces of Palmetto Bug here and there in the kitchen floor. I think she'd spend the better part of the night batting them around and founcing on them, having herself a big time, then before it was time for people to be up and about, she'd have herself a little snack.

Cats are just so shamelessly cat, you know? They do what they do and that's just all there is to it. Bits was a good bug-catcher.

Good afternoon VU!

One digit closer to 50 today

Our cousin Reng, went to his house earlier (his wife shares the same bday as me) and we dropped off some bday treats etc.

He gave us 3 dozen eggs as usual (chickens galore ) and one of the best gifts for current times

933fe244d883b51be6c4e86ca85c8626.jpg

He bought boxes of these for a home project before the pandemic so he gave us some, which I think is rad.

Ear is still plugged, but no pain or discomfort besides being deaf... go back and have them clear it out once the 10 days regimen is finished.

Be rad everyone!

Errands day here, dodging the thunderstorms the last day or so...so getting supplies from Petco, Dollar Tree, the Mexi store, and etc. done today.

Too tired now from carrying stuff around to cook much, so this is brunch: Cheese Fries

IMG_0594-2.jpg

Used 'Salt of the Gods' on the fries it is a tasty locally-made seasoning salt I love

Ingredients: Domestic Garlic, Sea Salt, Spices, Black Pepper, Hickory Smoked Salt and Onion.

Then baked 'em up in my convection oven, with some red hab powder and more fresh ground pepper.
Lots of pepper-jack and cheddar, bacon bits for the hell of it, and a side of organic ranch. Not health food or fancy, but it is nommz. =)

Well, tonight at 7pm, I took part in the pots and pans banging for First Responders. I just had time to run to my open kitchen window and make noise. I don’t think they heard me outside, but my upstairs neighbors did, so maybe they’ll figure out what it was and join in next time.

Other than noise making, SSDD here. I feel pretty good, but I was waiting on Quercetin since I’d run out, and my allergies were bad this week. I hope I’m not going to have to take it for life!

Stay healthy, everyone. :hug::hug:

I read not too long ago that Felus Domesticus is a predator par excellence. Apparently they’ll hunt and eat anything. So if huge flying roaches are their prey, good on the kitties. They can have ‘em.

We once lived in Queensland here on the coast in a small town called Yeppoon. Loved it there. You didnt need fly spray or anything as there were always Geckos in the house. They hunted and ate everything. They were the best natural bug eradication thing ever. Climb walls, windows, ceilings. You just had to accept seeing little lizards doing their thing around the place. We have them here but these ones down south dont come inside and only feed on the outside windows.

Rain all night last night which we need for our reservoirs and rivers so that was good, more coming they say.
Misses had her covid test yesterday and is a few day wait for the result. Strangely they didn't feel they needed to test me and left me waiting in the car as she was taken inside. Maybe because she has some symptoms and I dont and we are a married couple, who knows! I was expecting one though. She is not feeling very good though whatever it is she has. Hoping it isn't covid.
Stay safe everyone.

I read that some states are trying to ban the public use of that type of mask. The ones with the little one way flap on them. Sure they protect you. But they do nothing for the people or surfaces around you. I'll tell you from experience, after wearing one of those for a while, they build up condensation from your breath on that flap and when you breathe, it's literally a spit sprinkler coming out of there.

Food for thought.

I hope the result is negative. Although if she does have it, hopefully she’ll have antibodies and be immune.

I’m not looking forward to a vaccine being trotted out at “warp speed”. They need to do proper testing, and I’m not sure Fauci and his gang will bother.

Geckos are cute. It’s nice that they’re bug hunters, too. <3

Regards to you and Mrs. S. Hope the news is good!!

We have all kinds of Geckos here too - they're great to watch; they mainly evade cat predation

Strangely they didn't feel they needed to test me and left me waiting in the car as she was taken inside.

I was surprised about that also when Mr JL had to get tested; the doc explained that if he came back positive it would be almost a certainty I had it too, so no reason to test spouses

Hope she just has a crud - don't envy you guys in either case

Hope everyone is doing well. Hope your wife is feeling better and that you stay well, smigo.

Tomorrow could be my last day as teacher and principal or the fireb1rd school of lower education. Hope I keep the hatchlings motivated to work through the bs tomorrow so that we can close up shop for the summer.

Yeah the check valve can cause issue if overly used and abused, similar to my P100 respirator... if not cleaned the valve can collect moisture and become an issue. But we would use these in conjunction with the 3 and or 5 layer surgical masks we have a ton of...

We don't go out a ton to where these would build up that amount of condensation or heavy enough of a mouth'er to where they would be an issue, but I do understand your point.

Thanks, yeah guess it makes sense that only one needs testing in a couple. That must be the standard approach then.
Id like it if someone made some robo geckos that killed spiders. They are a pain where we are.

Thanks for that.

Unfortunately mine leaves wildlife on the porch. This is just a recent thing too. I bet he's giving me gifts cuz we got the new kitten. He hates her. Goes in and out but every time he's inside eating, she jumps on his back playing. So he goes back out. I feel bad for him.

My first cat (before I met my hubs) used to put mice on my pillow. I was renting a place in the East Village in a crappy building, and my kitty thought leaving them for me was a nice thing to do. I’d come home from the local bar and have a heart attack some nights.

Checking in... all is well here... family and friends are well.... one of my BF's Mom has Covid but she is doing very well despite her underlying conditions.

Retail is open now... restaurants are open to outside dining and carryout/delivery. They haven't opened the bars yet. I've had no issues with out of stock items on my last few grocery orders.

I stopped watching my Gov's daily speeches, it just got to be like he was on repeat.

Mom is still going to town making masks... The family did a "drive by" parade for my nieces 20th birthday, it turned out pretty cool.

Hope everyone else is doing well and staying safe! :)

I am totally in line to be the epitome of a cat lady. Just can't convince the hubby! He loves cats, too, but seems to think that don't need a houseful of them. Bitsy sounds like a cool cat! I bet you had a lot of fun with her.

Surely the allergy things will calm down a bit further on into the summer. This is the worst time of the year here for people who suffer from allergies to pollen.

I'd love to tell you you'll suffer less with it as you are, but I'm afraid that hasn't been my experience.

Checking in. Been awhile. All is good. Little overcast and rainy. Garden can use the rain. Big change coming to my family's life.

My 85 year old parents are coming to live with me....permanently. We are renovating and making modifications to our house right now, making preparations for them to have a safe environment. Time frame is 35 to 45 days. Family is supreme here on this earth. We don't have family here, so my wife is very happy to have my parents come. Sue and my parents have a wonderful relationship, and really love each other. I am for the past 15 to 20 years, on the phone with them every single day, with few exceptions. We tried to get them to move here 2 years ago, when they sold their house, and moved into an Assisted Living Center. My brother will fly down from upstate NY, and then we will drive down to get mom and dad. My wife has wanted her father to move here from China for the last 26 years. He came twice. Second time, he got his green card, and a driver's license. He stayed for half a year, and went back to China. We've been to China a handful of times(long darn trip). Really neat place to visit. Wouldn't want to live there. Jet lag coming back, after being there almost 4 weeks, is unpleasant....to say the least. Her father passed away in Shanghai a couple years ago. :(

Speaking of the garden, I had a great sandwich for lunch today. The spinach in our garden is soooo good. Tomato, spinach, 12 grain bread.

Is it raining at your house like it is at ours? Has been raining for DAYS now, and cold too! Unseasonably cold. Once again my front yard is a mud hole. (We live 'way out in the country, so there's real, actual dirt all around!)

Tes. Been raining for a couple of days. Strange Spring this year. 3 weeks ago, it was so beautiful, then the next week, it was hot, this week is rainy and unseasonably cold. Hard for a body to acclimatize. o_O

Good morning VU! for a few more minutes that is ;)

All is good here today... I have my hearing back! Still have a 6 more days of drops, but I can hear now... which is RAD!

In other news, my older sis in Michigan got flooded... feel bad for her and the kids... fuck my Brother in Law though... bitch ass... Still remember the last time I saw him... he's holding the house phone in his hand, "I'm going to call the police on you!" in a daring look LOL.... I replied, "Still take them at least 7 minutes to get here, only take me 1 minute to fuck your day up"

Wife is screening with the new temp reading cameras that look like a giant radar gun hooked up to an even larger looking Iphone lol... I'll have to edit in a pic its funny looking.

Be safe everyone!

Been raining here for a few days, some isolated thunderstorms. Not terrible though like Michigan is getting..holy cow.....
Still got a steady cold rain here, but needed to get out and grab a few things. So got gussied all up and trekked to Dollar Tree.

Drug several bags back much to Milly's delight. She loves new thing smells and plastic bags.
FS1Klgyl.jpg

I got her a new toy, the same weird animal thing as before. It'll be destroyed in a few days, but she loves 'em.
eVHqsW4l.jpg

Yes, the Dollar store has a bargain bin...lol. I got this plate and mug for 50 cents ea.
Mug is a neat color and a nice shape for me, and the dinged plate will be good for her meat-meals.
UW62VShl.jpg

Everyone's happy. Except NASCAR...bet they gonna get rained out again today. Not a good way to restart the season: https://twitter.com/RaceWeather

What ever day it is check in. Still well and safe here, we still aren't going out unless we have to, well unless it's just for a ride or something. They still haven't opened up the lake I fish:gaah:, missing the crappie spawn. it's been raining here too for days. I am anxious for it to dry up a little so I can get the rest of my garden planted;). Everyone be careful, stay safe and healthy, it's still out there looking for you:eek:

Jus chekin in.
Had to go mow a yard for a friend of the wife. Nearly knee high and still a bit wet but more rain coming so...
Had to shut down the walk behind every 8 ft and clear the plugged chute... PITA but small gate to that yard so no rider....
Washed the mower out, unplugged a downspout at home before the next rains.
Over all doing fine.

Oh and wife volunteered me to mow her grass for a few times for free until she got someone else lined up. that was over 3 years ago.... still free. about 1/2 hour drive away...

I've just had to turn the heat up. It's been freezing and so damp-feeling in the house all day.

Good news is I am cooking a spiral-sliced ham, green bean casserole, and mac & cheese tonight. Getting started shortly. That'll be a good cold-weather-and-damp feast.

Why don't you cook something robust? Chili maybe, or a pot roast? Molasses Chicken? holy moly!

Why don't you cook something robust? Chili maybe, or a pot roast? Molasses Chicken? holy moly!
I’ll be there soon. What, a few hours? When this is all over, imma gonna head on over there and we’ll cook up a storm!

I made chili and cornbread last night. Enough for dinner tonight!

And I missed the invasion of snide political crap. Sigh. They really need to keep it to the Pit.

Thank you, Crom. It’s been tough, but I feel like I made the right decision. We(Charlottesville) don’t even know if the University of Virginia is coming back next semester. If they don’t, many more dreams here will be destroyed.

25% sounds about right. Maybe more? We shall see.

He bought boxes of these for a home project before the pandemic so he gave us some, which I think is rad.

Ear is still plugged, but no pain or discomfort besides being deaf... go back and have them clear it out once the 10 days regimen is finished.

Be rad everyone!
