Went and did a huge shop today by myself. The misses chronic regional pain issue has been real bad the last few weeks. She was booked in for a procedure that was a last ditched effort that may help but has been put on indefinite hold due to covid as its only performed in Melbourne and not available anywhere else in the state.
Was happy to see though everyone in our country town where I went doing everything right.
Was there for 3 hours and all I can say is thumbs up to everyone I saw and passed.
All wearing masks, all distancing and all that I interacted with talking to doing everything right. Had reservations about today, but were all allayed in the end. ? :)

Possibly good news. Got a call, need to report to the School Board office Friday at 1 pm. Need to take the practical part of their testing. I passed the written part. Still having a wait and see attitude though. My ride has to be in Charleston at 9:30 am, will try getting back by noon to 1. Besides that I might totally flop the practical test, not sure how I could but anything is possible.

All ok here. Everyone seems to be doing the right thing in our town.
Heard a big bang in the front room the other day. Went and looked, couldn't see anything that would have caused it. Next morning out the front porch was wattle bird feathers below the window. Looked at the window and it had hit the window and was a crack right across it. Id say it hit it chasing an insect at full flight, there was even a bit knocked out from where I reckon its beak hit the glass.
$255 to replace it. ?

Morning!

Yuck, think I caught a cold! Or lousy allergies, whatever. Staying away from Hubby, anyway. Jessie is over in her catnip, tripping out. She'll crash pretty soon and go sleep it off. Hubby can't see the rheumatologist until the end of November! Wow. Doc says some kind of autoimmune disease. Guess we wait, huh? I need to go do some mixing, I get nervous when bottles get half empty.

Stay safe and healthy

I woke up like that yesterday, myself. Couldn't breathe through my nose, my right eye felt like it had hot sand in it. Eye feels a bit better today, nose still a bit stuffy. In this area, it's definitely allergies. I hope you both feel better soon. November!! That's just ridiculous.

Once Jessie get out of the stupor, give her love for me.

Fitz just jumped up next to me on the couch, Penny is MIA, per her usual. Doggy dog is chillin in the bedroom. I go to work in a few hours.

More good news. Will quote a portion of the email.

August 20, 2020
WEST VIRGINIA DIVISION OF PERSONNEL - NOTICE OF ELIGIBILITY

Title: Mail Processing Operator 2 - OT - Kanawha Co.

Application Review Results: Qualified

It goes on to state that I do not to do anything further. I may or may not be called for an interview. At least though it states I'm qualified for the position. My name will be in the "pool" for up to one year. So yep good news. :)

ETA: If this does come to be open to me, I will not take on the custodian position. Discussed this with my wife. We both agreed one position is full time "steady" work with benefits. The other is only as needed and likely no great benefits as a result.

The mail processing operator is the full time position. Anyone would be foolish to pass it up for an as needed custodian position. I especially would be as I would prefer the mail operator job. It kind of feels good having to decide which spot to take, two spots are actually open.

Good morning!

All is well here. Hubby is cutting lattice, Jessie napping somewhere. Sometimes I wish I could sleep as much as she does, lol. Yesterday was taco day, today is left-over pork chops! I do need to make a start on reorganizing my diy recipe boxes. Big job as I have 4 of them......

Stay safe and healthy

It's "actual" Friday. I'm lazy with my feet propped up, playing catch up with my friends. This is a good day.

Fitty is laying next to me on the couch, totally chill, all flattened out, lol, Penny MIA, but upstairs hanging in the window. That's what she likes til it's treat time, down here, Fitz just chases her all day. She's an older girl and doesn't want to deal with that. Stasha is outside with her "dad", supervising while he cuts grass before the rain.

Nothing much going on here. Temps are normalized in the mid-80s now. Air still smells like smoke, but that is pretty normal too.

Just watching the Gander Trucks race and gonna make a batch of Milly food later on.

Back home from Idaho. Super smoky here from all the fires in Cali. It's like most of the west is on fire. Smoky in Idaho yesterday and this morning. I flew through Denver and it's still smoky there, I couldn't see the mountains from the airport.

Other than that all is well. Me, my wife, and the critters are all doing well and disease free.

Actually 2 tropical storms are to hit on next wed. One around AL and the other around Houston according to projections. Both project to have around 75 mph winds.

So 2 almost hurricanes on the same day within hundreds of miles of each other.
And I'm between both of them. Sheesh. We can't even evacuate because no one will let us cross their borders.

Hopefully this forecast will not come true. perhaps they will collide and kill each other in the gulf?
per what I have read it is very highly unlikely that they will combine into a super storm as some fear mongers are saying.

Checking in

Covid is now community spreading on the Big Island and we are going into self-imposed stay-at-home-mode

Sadly, this includes selling at farmers markets, which is something I have grown to love doing :(

Checking in still ok with covid.
got oil changed, fluids checked, etc on the blazer today between the many rain showers.

think the Governorator reported close to 600 new covid cases yesterday.
Community spreading is spreading out pretty much everywhere in the US.

They're not huge, maybe half the size of a crow or a little bigger. But when they are at full flight are really fast, especially when chasing something. They often have a go at the magpies that hang around our place even though the maggies are bigger. I reckon it hit beak tip first flat out. Was just bad luck it broke the window. My bad luck :giggle:

Buy a window decal or something to put on the window(s) . That way the birds will see the window(s) ;) . And, they're inexpensive... Save the birds and windows :)

Birds and windows...
When I lived in FL I put solar film on the inside of some windows to cut down solar heat coming in.
BOY was that a mistake. Stupid cardinals would beat their brains out attacking that cardinal in the window. Bird blood had to be cleaned from windows...
Never broke one though.

Not a bad day...watching NASCAR and the Daytona 500. :D
I decided screw cooking and got a DiGiorno's pizza for like $6.
Along with snacks (those sausages are made right here in WA) and stuff for tasty/spicy Micheladas.
