I'll be flying back home for the weekend later today. It will be pushing 110°F over the weekend and most of next week back home. That makes flying back to Idaho Monday easier to take. Nothing else to report, my wife and I are fine.

Tested yesterday for a substitute custodian position with county schools. There was about thirty to forty come in for taking a multiple choice written test. The superintendent told us if we passed the written test we could get called to do some on the job testing. If you passed that, you could then move into the position. So, it is still a wait and see opportunity.

Meanwhile, I also have an application in for a state position working in the mail processing room / building in Charleston. And the wife yesterday told me that her and her sister may have jobs in Parkersburg, the completely opposite direction. They got spoken of to a fellow in Parkersburg looking for employment case working interviewers. All of their current temp job bosses spoke highly of them for the positions open, and it seems him giving them an interview is simply a formality.

If I get on in Charleston, reckon her dad will need to run me down daily. As it is now they leave here at around six in the morning to get to Charleston by eight. They would likely do the same to get to Parkersburg. Either direction is about forty-five minutes to an hour's drive. Three hours driving after five would get us all home around eight in the evening. Though, I figure her dad will collect me if he takes me. Will need to pay Taxi Chief. *grins*

Well both are still wait and see. So, yep, still holding.

My back is out. I felt pressure on my spine Wednesday, hurt more Thursday and I finally felt the snap yesterday. I couldn't breathe. I suffer from back pain constantly. Was in bed all day except to go to the hospital for a urine drug screen so I can get a script for a pain medication. Chuck drove me of course.

He updated my laptop so I can use it today. I don't see relief any time soon. Looks like I'll be getting my epidural shots sooner than later.

Oh honey, I so feel your pain and I am so sorry. Get the shots, they help. Sometimes a lot. I have had to go without shots since Covid started and I have been miserable, so I know all too well what you are having to deal with right now. As long as we don't get another spike I am due to get injections end of Sept. Get them as soon as you're able. I hope the pain meds will help.

Brakes & laundry done today. No suicide deer in the road. Same mechanic that did her inspection saw her put brakes on, same shop. Not too bad at about $90 for brakes, tire rotation.

Morning!

Our temp is supposed to be lower today, high 90*s. I'll take it! My brother in Seattle said they are trying to break heat records up there. Only one trip outside the house today, have to drive hubby to Sam's Club for water. I just drive, I don't get out of the van. At least I can see something besides my walls, right? Jessie decided to clear off my table this morning, such a thoughtful kitty. Nothing broke.

Stay safe and healthy

Thanks for your concerns. I've had a medial branch block and regular epidurals and radio-frequency ablations for years. Last time was June 16th. This is a bit soon compared to my regular schedule. My newer doc is quite conservative. He didn't give me enough twilight sedation during the epidurals which was insanely painful. I finally called my old pain doc's office for the cocktail he would give me and they gave it to me. Good thing, too. I needed the radio-frequency ablation done again and I was nice and pain free during the procedure.

The urine test I did Friday has to be sent out for testing. Thank goodness I have some tramadol left. I hope it gets me through mid week when the results come back and I can get more pain meds.

Still in bed with my laptop and hospital table. I was feeling a bit better last night and was able to pet Rosie and stand just long enough to make a tomato salad before I felt I was going to into convulsions. I'm paying for it today.

I'm fine otherwise however my wallet isn't. I dun gone shoppin'! I can justify that by telling myself Happy Early Birthday to ME! ♍

Too hot....I fell asleep watching the Cup race, woke up practically soaked. Milly is smarter and was hiding out in a dark and cool closet. Got her some fresh water and nice cool meat/juices, so she's happy. I'm not...lol

She's comfy on the kitchen's cool vinyl flooring, i'm tempted to see if she'll share..lol..
For now, just petting her.

Accuweather says it's 104, but using a more local PWS report it's more like 101F. Fuckit either way.

I bet it's 104 for real by 5pm though...

Won't be a decent temp until after midnight most likely.

Thanks and YW!! I lost my birth parents a long time ago. Only found out a few years ago via a classified ad in the obits as I hadn't seen them in decades, but I still understand the loss.

Much hugs....

I was in occasional touch with my biological dad and his family beginning when I was about 41 (first time I'd seen him since I was too young to even remember it), but had to find out that he had passed away by accidentally coming across his obituary on the f'n Internet.

My stepdad died clear on the other side of the country, and he'd already been cremated and his ashes scattered on top of a mountain outside Tucson, AZ before I even knew he was gone.

If you're lucky enough to grow up in a "normal," loving family, just thank your lucky stars. Hurts like hell to lose a parent, though, normal or not.

Home from work. Work was fine, but damn, it was a Murphy's Law kind of day, if I ever had one.

Went to fix my lunch for work, lunch meat didn't smell right, didn't have the time to fix anything else, so knew that would lead to vending machine lunch. I keep a small fan in my locker, went to plug it in, it wouldn't work. Sigh... ok fine. Then I went to turn on this thingamabob I have that helps me listen to music through my implant. It wouldn't turn on, which made my heart sink, big time. Little while later, I broke a nail. And my vape pod quit working. It's been stupid for a little while, but it just won't work now. I have a new one on the way, hoping it shows up tomorrow.

All these things are fixable, at least, and I really hope my music thingamabob will be replaced under warranty.

Good Lord, makes ya wonder what happened to your boy Murphy that he had his own law. Poor guy.

Planning for an appointment with endocrinologist at 3:40 pm EST today. He will likely fuss that testosterone number is way too low. He may ask me to explain. He will not like my response true as it may be. He cut my dose.

I get very frustrated as a patient to feel as though I take two minutes away from a doctor's golf game. All of the doctors I have had thus far in life dealing with Kallmann Syndrome have treated me like that. They're too busy to see me for even two minutes it seems.

Will have to go to Parkersburg to see him. Such visits tend to throw off full days. So yeah that'll be my day such as it it'll be.

Early indicators of upcoming spring being lovely.
Hopefully I am permitted 6km by bus for a few hours at the beach at some point. Burbing is getting old.

Beautiful picture. Is that one of yours? I wish it was so pleasant here.

Right now around here it fluctuates from the edges of the Sahara desert to the mud flats and bogs of the Okeefenokee swamp, all of it hotter than hell, buggy, and too humid for human habitation.

Yes, that was a few doors down. There is a paddock with sheep behind me. But yesterday morning there was a little farm reality that little lambs don't always make adulthood. So no pics.

The trees are nice though

It's hot...

116fabb4c444e3337a49f8a1686f88f0.jpg

Temp:
4:19pm
current temp: 94 F
feels like: 97F
forecasted high: 100F
14% humidity

My SNAP-supplied lightswitch thermometers:
86F living room (where the AC is)
89F in the hallway
92 in the bedroom (why I built the new PC for the living room and why we don't do much in there in summer)

I managed to make a salad, used some frozen peppers...they thawed in front of my eyes as I cut them...ack.

Got a cold drink, but the ice in my glass melts about every 10 minutes.
That's WITH the good 'ol White-Westinghouse Modernaire AC on as high as I dare...it's a battle tank of an AC unit, but like 40yrs old.

Still, I feel fortunate. There are truly ghetto Apt. buildings on this block that don't even have A/C units, or much else.

And, after six years and two rent hikes, I'm still only paying $525 as a low-income tenant (not on housing)...for now anyways. The Office Manager who got me in here and championed for me for years has 'retired'.

This is a sub-ground level Apt. for rent here that is smaller than mine, but was updated since the 80s:

large.jpg

That little Apt. rents for more than I get in a month.
Welcome to 2-3% vacancy rate highway robbery in this city in an at-will state.

Day off today. Had a doc appt, just a check in type of thing so I can keep my refills going. D must be really low again, she phoned in one of those megadose things. After that, went to the grocery, Walmart, Harbor Freight and home for a nap. Naps are so fun! :bliss:

My new pod thing came in, a little messy filling it til I figure that part out a little better, or might just opt for a needle tip, but I like it a lot. No news about my music mic thing, but it'll be remedied.

Currently, watching The Office and reading the forum. Doggy dog is out, walking her daddy, kitties are snoozin'.

Eldest nephew had a bit of a scare this past week. He tried working at our local Wendy's. They had three, or four confirmed covid 19 cases there just as he started. He wound up ill, had the trots and vomited. He got tested. Monday afternoon he came back negative and told he had a stomach bug. He's now looking forward to starting at the Walgreen's.

good morning2.gif y'all. Been real busy renovating our house in preparation for my 85 year old parents to move in. It's been a long almost two months, but we are down to getting the chair lift installed, and that's it. Mom and dad will be here from Florida next week, and I can't wait. Been trying to get them up here for the past two years. They sold their house a couple years ago and moved into an assisted living center and decided it's not for them. I will be so happy to have them here with us. I just feel blessed we are ok and we can do this for my parents.

On top of the renovation, my real estate business has kept me extremely busy. Between our property management business, my wifes mortgage broker business, our own income properties, and helping people buy and sell houses, we are slammed. The real estate market here is phenomenal.

I love this community and participating here, but am glad we are busy considering the state of the world. A lot of people are just wondering how they are going to survive this mess, and I feel bad for the families that are getting hit hardest by the most negative effects of this.

I am praying for everyone and their family's health and safety, and looking forward to the day when we can all just look back at this with the world intact and a better place to live.Peace7.jpg

Morning!

Same old, again. Walmart run for hubby this morning, Jessie was chasing a bug (that only she saw) in my bathtub during the night. It sounded like a whole herd of cats were racing around in there! As soon as I turned on the light it was just quiet, and no bug that I could see. Oh well, guess I didn't need that sleep.

Stay safe and healthy
