If my husband's boss asks that, he says YES YES YES OF COURSE I CAN WORK OVERTIME and we do a little happy dance when we see all that OT on the check. :D Ok, a very enthusiastic happy dance. :D

Andria
Oh I don't mind the overtime, its just that we never work it during the winter and then they want to work 6 days all summer long. I don't mind it, but it interferes with a lot of shit I like to do.

See what I mean about the great PEOPLE at ECF? I loved probably 90% of 'em. It was the idiot moderators that made that place intolerable. So I'm positively thrilled that a nice crew of those people has come over here, where there are SANE moderators. :)

Andria
We love you too Andria!

ehh, it does and it doesn't, but i see what youre saying.

ive been using single tube mechs since shortly after i started. i normally run 0.2ohms with a good sony battery either 5 wraps of 24g or 7 wraps of 22g. depending on the rda and the mod. I'm thinking the voltage drop on the reo is going to make a build like that a bad idea
My exact same setup. 24g, 5 wraps, 3mm ID is my go to build.

Good morning Hank, Vesuv, Kadster, Dadda, Jax, Huck, Whiskey,Morley, Andria, Lucy, Bird.. Did I miss anyone important?

Nobody "important." :( Nah, I's jes' joshin' ya! This thread moves quicker than I can keep up with it, so by the time I get to the end, I don't usually have time to join in the chatting... Or I'll see something I want to respond to, but it's like 5 or 6 pages back, so I don't! LOL! I love having a farm, though, in spite of the fact it takes up 99% of my day. :p It's OK if you forget I'm here, considering I hardly ever get to post!

We never really "do" anything. For him, the only problem with OT is holidays -- he gets 7.5 hrs OT every week, so any additional is that much more gravy, but only if he gets 40 *regular* hrs actually on the clock... when there's a holiday, he doesn't get those regular hrs on the clock, so all that OT becomes "straight time"... so he has to get even more of it.

We have pretty boring lives, but after surviving the last recession by the skin of our teeth, we're quite fond of "boring," since it also usually means that when we need or want something from the store, we just march right out and buy it. :) That beats the hell out of a) rolling coins, b) trying to figure out who we can skip paying, or c) borrowing from a co-worker so the next short check becomes even shorter. All of which is just another reason I love vaping so much -- compared to smoking, it's dirt cheap!

That sucks. One of the nice things about heavy industry. Shutdown work, we HAVE to be done in X hours. When my crews go in, the best guys, I can't afford to lose off the job. So they will get 8 hours straight, then it's OT. Often, some will work 18 hrs. Then they will come back in next day at 7am, and since they haven't been off the clock 8 hours, they are STILL on OT. Work another 18. With drive time, setup, cleanup.. It's fairly common for a guy to get 16 straight, and 35 OT in 3 shifts plus drive time, which can be.. 28 more hours. Leave Sunday, home by late Thursday night. TOUGH work though, tough OT. But many are happy to do it once or twice a month, and make side money the rest of the time.

We get OT after 8 also. Saturday is time an a half no matter you're number of hours during the week and if you work Sunday its double time. I am in a Union though so...

We aren't Union any more, but we do have to compete with the union shops for the workforce. The experienced guys are union, the new guys are lucky because you can't have two classes of pay and benefits..

Everybody quotes the jobs to scale though, so I'm happy to pay em well. Customer foots that bill.

Awwwwww... :inlove:

Welp, chickens are fed, horses and cows are fed, wimped out and let the calves do the milking for me, and now it's time to get some breakfast and then go to "town." "Town" is 100 miles away, so it's an all-day trip there and back. We're going to get a new stove because the old one seems to have sprung a leak somewhere. When I was making bread yesterday the entire house stank of raw propane, and the stove didn't get up to the proper temp. I'm sick of soggy, saggy bread and a stinky house, so we have to bite the bullet and get a new stove. The only problem is, I hate going shopping, and more than that, I hate going to town! It's so quiet out here, it's good for my jangly nerves, and all those people in town make me start to twitch. But, it has to be done, and I have to go whether I like it or not. I'm not trusting Rich to pick out the stove I would have picked for myself. Sorry, but it's a "gurl thing." :p

Nah got 3 brand new at home that I haven't touched in a year!

I use mine to flame kanthal. :) And I always like to keep a couple around, in case of power outage, to light candles -- can't stand the smell of matches, never could. But it's nice how a 2-pk of lighters now lasts a year or more, instead of about 2 months. :D
