I am still waiting in line at the pharmacy for all of my many medications. All my vitals are good and my oxygen level is 97 which is excellent. They think I actually have asthma. And I go in for a lung function test on August 8th. It's been a rough two months for sure.
There's actually a chemical challenge test they can give you, to determine if you have actual bronchial asthma. They let you take a puff from an inhaler which contains a chemical that, if you're really an asthmatic, will bring on IMMEDIATE wheezing, but if you aren't, it doesn't do much of anything. And I don't know how they do it now, but they also need to do "blood gas" testing; they used to have to tap the artery in your wrist, the radial "pulse" artery, to detemine the level of oxygenated blood, but I think they can now determine that a lot less intrusively. Most wouldn't have a problem with that arterial tap, but it nearly laid me out on the floor, due to my low bp.
