I have no plans to give up vaping. Figure I would go back to smoking if I did.

Likewise. I know now, thanks to my recent flu, that if I really need to not vape for a while, I can handle it just fine. But at some point, that damned imbecile in my brain whispers "a cigarette sure would be good right now," and for that, I'll stick to vaping. I haven't really noticed it happening, but my husband assured me, after about a year, that i wasn't vaping ANYWHERE near as often as I did at first; it just happened naturally. I've had zero problems bringing my nic level down; my last two bottles, I mixed at 2.9mg -- I';d crept back to 3.2mg during the holidays, but i was starting to wonder if maybe nicotine was contributing to my insomnia problem. I dunno if that was the case or not, but the melatonin sure is helping -- it's not a cure-all, some nights I still have a little difficulty falling asleep, but nothing like as bad as before I started the melatonin. I plan to keep using a low level of nicotine, for support of cognitive function -- one grandmother died of Alzheimers, one grandmother died after suffering about 15 yrs of geriatric dementia... I really wanna keep my marbles while I still have some use for them. :D

But I never ever want to smoke again... so I'll keep vaping. :) :cloud:

Good morning fugees

I had yesterday off from work. Yay, except Saturday night it was raining, turned to snow. Almost 3 inches on the ground and roads before I got off work at 11. I was determined to not take away from the 21 hours of OT that I amassed last week plus I didn't want a point for leaving early so I conquered my fear of driving my new to me, I don't know how in the hell it drives in snow car. Made it home with no problem by staying in the tracks that were made by people who drove on the road before me. But.. Saturday night I got so sleepy at work. I basically just came home, filled the heater, lit it, waited for it to fire completely up so I could turn it down, then went to bed. Yesterday, I spent the entire day sleeping. Like ALL DAY! Then went to bed last night at 11. I truly think I was coming down with something because I usually sleep a lot when I'm sick. I feel better today, just weak. I'm off to work later. Everyone here please send positive thoughts that we have Friday, Saturday and Sunday off for Easter. Please??? I really need the 3 days off!

Don't forget to GFY to start off the week the right way! :)

Good morning fuguees! Up early and moving. Grandson delivered to school and car in the shop. :( Hopefully they'll finally fix what is wrong with it.
Rumor at work has us having Friday off, working Saturday and possibly having Sunday off. Personally I think it's BS that this company is so inundated with orders that they can't give their employees 3 days off considering they've been working some of us 7 days a week since the beginning of the year. I'm just counting the months until the end of the year.
Everyone have a great day!!

I don't celebrate Easter - except for Mr Juicy still expecting a chocolate bunny

But, I have a killer organic ham and I just might go ahead and make it this Sunday - it also being April Fools Day and all

It's also the anniversary of my grandmother's birthday, who, if she had lived, would be turning 114. Which isn't as far-fetched as it might sound, since her mother lived to be 105.

There's only one reason I'd want to live to be 105 -- I'd get to see the 1000 yr anniversary of the reigning British monarchy, which will be celebrated in 2066 -- the year I would turn 105.

Oh man. Well I hope you make it. There's no way I want to live that long. My neck gives me too much pain for that. In fact I'm home today.

Yeah, I actually don't have any desire to live past maybe about 85 or so -- since I quit smoking, and my overall health is otherwise pretty good, other than the asthma, I could conceivably manage that, but after that, everything just kinda goes to hell, physically, and I have NO desire to outlive my husband, who is 8.5 yrs older than I am. Obviously longevity is a family trait (that grandmother lived to be 95), though among those who allow themeselves to become obese, diabetes seems to cancel it out -- but my aunt turned 86 in October, and though she has *borderline* diabetes that she's able to manage with her diet, she's still doing pretty well, and still looks at least 20-30 yrs younger than her real age. A lot of that is because she's always taken good care of her skin and appearance, but also because like me, she's conscientious about her diet -- and has never smoked or drank beyond an occasional drink at a party or beer at a baseball game.

That's how my mother was. Always took care of herself never smoked or drink. We're only problem was that she didn't keep up on her thyroid medication so she developed congestive heart failure. She died when she was 84. No one lives past 43 on my father's side of the family except for his mother. All died of massive heart attacks.

Chop why are ya sending all that rain up this way?
Looks like it is coming from yu.

Thats @Atchafalaya fault. She sent it my way but I ducked and only getting a glancing blow from it but sadly because of the spin Atchaffy put on the storm it hooked your way. See, this has to be true. It is on the internet now after all :teehee:

Interesting to note that in 7 years the price of a basic 40 gallon WH has doubled here in KY.
But inflation is not an issue?

And I know the pricing history since 7 years ago I worked at Lowes...\
but inflation is not an issue in the USA.

Ohh crap!

Need to use my hand truck and wheel my old WH out to the roadside for pickup by those wonderful garbage guys tomorrow.

I was just now informed of this revolting development by Mr Juicy

Apparently there is no shut off valve going to the HWH and just turning off the water is not an option because it is 24 degrees

Sorry to hear your WH went tits up. Sucks any time of the year. The shut off valve wont be a big problem. Turn water off, install a shut off valve, turn water back on. Should only take 10 minutes.

Yep and depending on the type of plumbing used it can be a push fit valve.
They work well on Copper, Pex and CPVC.
The fittings are commonly called Shark bite but that is just one brand name.
If using on Pex tubing be sure to poke the supplied insert back into the pex tubing end before pushing the valve fitting on the pex.

And at times like these Shop Vacs are your friend.

That sucks Lucy :( I was glad when I had my hot water heater installed a few years ago that the guys who put in the old one installed a shut off valve going to it. The hwh that was replaced was over 30 years old.
