We're getting rain tomorrow which sucks because the plan was to take Noah to an Easter egg hunt. They suck when it rains.

Speaking of rain and replacing dead appliances...my microwave went belly up 2 days ago. I was looking forward to the windfall of all the hours I worked last week to buy some "me" stuff. Shyeah right....I bought a microwave instead. :blech:

In most places having a shut off valve is required by codes.
That may have been the case here. From the information that I was told, the original HWH was one of those cabinet types that was in the kitchen. It started to leak so the homeowners replaced it with a bigger one that's under the house. The guy who told me about it was the plumber that installed it. When I replaced the HWH I went from a 40 gal to a 50 gal.

I would have dropped from a 40gal to a 30 gal if they did not cost around $100 more.
A 30 gal is plenty big enough for me and the Wife unit.

Same thing happened to me a few weeks ago. I was hungry one day and picked up these breakfast sandwhiches at a store. Threw them in the microwave and the house started to smell like burnt wires. I was a bit upset at this because to my way of thinking a microwave should last more than the twenty some years this one gave me :giggle: Ended up running to wallyworld and getting a nice one and then having my breakfast :D

I got a 1.4 cu 1100W GE I think. The one it replaced was around 23 years old so it was time.

Yep some of the same symptoms but left hand for me and left leg.
And not a stroke because have had the symptoms for 20 years.
My doctor said the accident is helping to speed up the inevitable. I always thought that I only had degenerative discs in my lower back. The X-rays after the accident showed that they are cervical and thoracic plus lumbar. I guess I'll just have to deal with it like everyone else does. Ho hum...

My right hand hurts and tingles all the time. I don't have stenosis ...just degenerative discs.
I have degenerative discs and stenosis. The worst part is when both arms drop to my side and go completely numb. It usually only last for 2-5 minutes but it's a weird feeling NOT feeling your arms and not being able to move them. Scares me to hold my grandbaby due in 6 weeks. I think I'll just sit and hold her on my lap.

That sucks Lynn. I think only the top T is bad on mine. C2-T1.
Sucks getting old and having things just fall apart. Found out this morning my cousin Steve died of a massive heart attack yesterday. 60 years old. :( I didn't know him well since we moved to Texas years ago, but I sure feel awful for my Aunt Olga in Houma. :(

Ohh big CRAP!
Why all WH's should have shutoff. Eventually all will leak.

When we lived in apartments, I was always infuriated that they had to turn off water TO THE WHOLE DAMN BLDG just to work on someone's water heater. Fucking cheapskate builders!!! Imagine my delight 2 yrs ago when we got our new water heater, and the old man assured me he didn't have to turn off anything except the shutoff valve to the water heater. :) :) :) This house was built in 87, which is already well into the "quantity not quality" era we now live in, but apparently the builders for this neighborhood knew what the hell they were doing!!!! Or, maybe whoever did the updates and upgrades on the house after it was bought at auction after foreclosure knew what HE was doing.
