Yep, the 500mA rating on the wallplug adapter is the maximum it's rated to supply. The charger is built into the MVP, and regulates the voltage and current supplied to the battery - you can think of it 'pulling' current from the wallplug adapter.

With the charger trying to draw more current than the wallplug's rating, the most likely effect is to make it output less than the 5V it's supposed to (alternatives include: working fine above the rating, shutting down, or getting hotter). So it's no surprise that charging takes longer. It shouldn't affect how well-charged the battery gets though, as long as it can still supply the 4.2 or 4.3V required to get the battery to full charge.
Thanks for the info, you are a great at explaining, really appreciated.

Without following your link it sounds like VapeNW, I sure hope not but they do really fast refunds, don't want to look, no I don't much care for that company after waiting two months on a pre-order of the Segeli 100 watt before I finally cancelled, did get my money back though to that companies credit very fast, maybe I will look, ugh

I've found one that fits perfect the Aspire Nova near perfect, really nice to have this small device so now when I'm out and about vaping I don't look like the flute player in a one man band..

Ordered from the same place - didn't you get tracking info from them? I think they sold out their first batch, and are now waiting for their next shipment... probably didn't think that they would sell this well.

I got my istick 2 days ago and it has been my go to device since then. When I first opened the box the first thing I said was, wow I can't believe how small this thing is!! I was expecting it to be small, but the istick really is TINY!!

This is the perfect device for me. It IS the device I have been waiting for. When I am out and about or at work I usually take itaste VV's with evods, which work great, but the 800mah battery only lasts a couple hours. So far this little istick has been lasting about 2 days for me. The only thing I wish was different on the istick is the 510 pin. I really wish the 510 was spring loaded. Just about every new device comes with either spring loaded or adjustable 510.

I originally preordered the istick from Vaportek, but when I saw them in stock for only $32 bucks shipped on Ebay, I couldn't resist. After using this device for the last couple days, I am glad I have a second one coming. I love this thing!!!

You can use any 510 adapter, its threaded standard but I found that the one that came with it meets flusher to the tanks than a regular one. I get alot of air with the David on the regualr adapter, and none with this one that came with the kit

How's that mini Davide on the iStick? I have a mega aero on mine right now and I swear the tank weighs a lot more than the device does! Need to find something better to go with this! Wish I could find something shorter. The protank wasn't bad on it, but having issues getting that one working the way I want.

The Mini David is thinner than your mega aero, and makes it look sleek, I bet you'd like those, and whats cool about it is that it now fits both Aspire & Kanger heads

I was using a evod 2 on the iStick. Just threw the mega on it because it had the juice I wanted in it. Definitely time to go back to the evod or look thru the stash for the mini davide I know is there somewhere. What coils do you like better? I have been sticking with the new Kanger enclosed duals and love them. Haven't tried the new BVC though.

The new Kangers kick ass to the aspires IMO I bought a shit load of those in a co-op

It isn't the overhang it the darn weight!! Must triple the weight of the device! Got to admit though, would love to find something that didn't hang over. The protank 3 wasn't bad.

BVC tastes great but has a tighter maximum draw. If you prefer it loose like your Aerotank Mega, why not a Mini? Want more juice? The V2 is as heavy as the Mega and longer so forget it. However, the Aerotank MOW would get you more juice than the Mini, is shorter and almost as light. Thinking of getting one myself for similar reasons.

I honestly don't mind the overhang that much:) Now if I could just get over this damn cold so I can taste my juice again, I would be a happy camper! I found that the mini just doesn't have the airflow the mega has. Less space to work with?

Yup, a tiny bit tighter because of the smaller airflow valve. Drill it out. Maximum airflow on the Aerotanks is limited only by the coil ID (2mm) which they all share. No point getting the V2 for reasons I said above. But the Aerotank MOW might be right up your alley: more juice, shorter than the Mini and almost as light. I want one myself. http://www.fasttech.com/products/0/...entic-kangertech-aerotank-mow-bdc-clearomizer

I am trying a mini aero base on the evod right now. Seems to be leaking, so trying to figure out why. I normally just drill out my bases and that has them working great. So far, liking the evod 2 on this the best, as long as the base is drilled out. Nice and compact. Thanks and will be looking into that MOW.

After the first one, I knew I had to get a couple more. This is the device I have been waiting for since the Darwin came out. Thought I would give one to my kid, but that is looking less likely by the minute:)

I am working off a Rattlesnake PWM 33hz chip right now. To someone who has better regulated wattage chip and devices.........can you tell me what you think of its clean the power is coming off it. I was getting ready to go to a Innokin SVDII Evolv Mod, but if this is as clean or near, I will settle for a pair of these.

Also some of the points of charging. I like to charge at the weakest adapter as possible. I have a bluetooth head set wall charger, that is very weak, but its much nicer on the battery. Its well known that iPad chargers on iPhone kill battery life over time. Some say the iPhone will only draw 5 W. but it does with PWM, so it Zaps and off, Zaps and off at 12W with the larger iPad charger.

You are dead right about that adapter and I've tried to contact Eleaf where I bought my 1st one and they don't reply, hell I'd buy 5-10 out the gate those are the best adapters yet. I'm using them on my mechs with whatever and there fantastic, sure beat the hell out of the regular adapter.
Company would probably make a fortune just off the adapter sales.

I've come to the conclusion for my out and about this will be my knew traveling kit in pics with olddd Eggo case, let go my ego? No way it still works and really when you look at it now with these new sticks, dang seriously you will make it through an entire weekend with some serious power and juice supplies, and the best of the tanks to use IMHO the Aspire line like the BDC's or especially the Peakomizer is real nice juice volume and can use any type coil if your out and had to bum one from your pal whose maybe using a BCC real versatile , The Kanger pro has a long 510 so it doesn't sit nice it's up high leaves a gap, I have a nautilus mini coming and curious how that will fit but expect the hang, the hang over is really not a big deal since it's only at the front but funny thing to me is, with all the thought that obviously went into this awesome little device didn't they measure a regular old 22mm 510 device and make this about 2mm longer so it would be flush in the front, then the thing would be perfect again IMHO.
Bye the way good vape heads, I case you haven't noticed yet, I did because I need glasses to read the display, well the small print anyhow and no I'm not blind just Fn old, there's a film cover over the screen and if you remove it the view is much better, brighter and it's above the firing switch also the little square piece.
Vape ON Friends... Oh ya, there was a fella somewhere back in these posts that explained some power info to me and wall chargers like the diff between a .5amp wall plug and the new one I just got with the full kit deal which is 1amp, this made a huge difference in charging speed on this device and with my old MVP, so if your reading pal thank you for the tune up I've been vaping awhile but you know I'm still loving to learn anything vape, and ya I've been using the wall plug that came with my first kit an ego 650 maH bat with a clearo, LOLLL wow seems like a hundred years ago and I've got the shit now, so as Al would say, "Say hello to my little friend"... Peace People

Hey pal you were really really right about that, got the new 1amp and wow what a difference, should have known that but I'm never to old to learn something new, I charge on my Efest at 1amp and well ya it's fast so why I didn't think to put the two thoughts together, well F me, dumb, so thanks again huge difference and I appreciate your info..!!! OK my Sensei Hermit , could you explain to me how this Istick gets 20 watts, Do I really have to read Ohm's Law to understand how the ohm's I'm running affects how high my wattage will go with this chip set, like I can't just pop on a 1.8 ohm coil and run this Istick up to 20 watts and melt my coil, is this chip that smart that it calculates for me the highest I can go with wattage with out melting my build? So if I have nothing on at 0 ohms then I can run this up to just look at 20 watts but I'd suspect unless I'm running maybe a 3 ohm build I'd never get this to fire at 20 watts? I know maybe stupid question and I should really know this answer but I don't, and I do have other box mods but honestly I've never run anything over 15 watts and that was for fun, my vaping is always good up to 8.5 watts max.
The other thing I've noticed is that this little bugger seems to fire real hot, what I'd normally run at 3.9v I'm having to turn this down to 3.0 or 3.1-2v, don't know if my old equipment is just that and this is just real fresh or what, but I've been vaping real comfortably with this new Istick with it all the way down 3.0v that's seems nuts but it gets pretty damn hot above that

By the way, maybe I've figured out which chip set is acting strangely, the one between my ears I think, first off don't sit down looking at and messing with your wattage to see how high it will go with a 1.6 ohm Aspire coil on it and then write something on VUG forget and take a drag at 18 watts, damn that's messed up, I was sitting her with that coil on the Istick and had the wattage up as high as it would allow and then back off the Aspire and watch the wattage drop down, screw it back on and I could turn wattage back up a bit but not to 20 watts, seems I have some studying to do, damn it...

Anything above 1.5 ohms will begin to restrict the upper wattage level you can reach due to the devices 5.5 volt limit.
Staying between 1 ohm and 1.5 will allow you to reach the full 20 watts. For example a 2 ohm resistance would result in just over 15 watts at 5.5 volts. I've seen a couple of vids where it actually capped at 5.4 volts so those numbers could be slightly lower. For the most part it will have plenty of power for those who would be interested in this type of device in the first place.

Thank you, thank you very much, that answer was so precise and easily understood and I thank you again, I get it, I was kind of on the right track but need that input to fully grasp the concept, A+ for sure and did remember that wattage settings like with the Segelei drop in module you set your watts and it self adjusts to a certain extent to the ohms your running, so I've always found my sweet spot like 3.9v then sweet spot times sweet spot divided by ohms/resistance equals watts to set at, so I see how this chip then does what you explained. I was sort of on to it but really need clarity like you provided thanks again pal.,.!!

I am running a protank 3 on mine at the moment and really liking it. I drilled out a v1 base and am using the new enclosed wick coils. Works very nicely and fits the device nicely. On the flat side, about a 1mm overhang, which I can live with.

Other tank is an evod 2 with drilled out base. Another great choice, but not quite as compact.

How is the draw on that mini david? Flavor decent? Would love to find the perfect atty/tank to go with the iStick! Evod 2 works very well on it, as long as the base is drilled out on the evod, but doesn't hold a lot. What is everyone using on theirs that they are happy with?
Draw was a bit airy, tooth pick fixed it, good flavor, my preference for a tank on it right now is theT3D's

I am starting to wonder about the voltage output on these, I have two and I'm getting some really hot vape.
If I run a Aspire BDC at 1.6 or 1.8 I'm having to run them at 3.0v to get a vape that doesn't taste burnt.
Even running a coil of 2.5ohm if still running at 3.0v and getting a good vape.
Has anyone done a voltage accuracy check on these? I don't have the equipment to do it myself but I'm thinking something isn't right, it's just to hot.
If I had only one device I'd think it was defective but I have two, and when I switch the same Aspire used for testing, to the MVP or SVD or anything even the mechs it's way way different vape, I'm either missing something or these devices are firing real hot, I don't get it.
I've resorted to using my MVP again, and with the same Aspire and a 1.6ohm coil if running the MVP at 3.9 up to 4.2v and it's vapes perfect, I try that on this Istick and it's burnt taste and fast, really damn hot.
Any insight..??

Sounds like your devices are automatically dumping a specific minimum voltage into your tank? Don't know what you can use to test this, but it seems like that's what you need to do next if you don't want to try to get a refund.
