I'm trying to decide on a mango flavor to buy. I just realized that although I'm not too fond of the real fruit (too spicy and fibrous), I like it a lot in a vape. Unfortunately, the juice in question was vendor made, so I have no idea which brand was used. The mango I am seeking is *probably* not FA (even though I've yet to try that one) because it had a definite candied aspect. What I loved about it was the way it POPPED out at me--with both sweet and tart dimensions. I am missing it so much since the bottle is gone, but am committed to DIY now, so can't bring myself to buy another bottle. Anyone tried other mango flavors and care to hazard a guess as to which I might be describing?

No snow here in Sevierville, Tennessee, just ICE ICE BABY!! I'd rather have the snow, supposed to get down to 20 degrees tonite and the power lines are already sagging.

Who is the vendor? If it is a well known vendor someone might know what flavorings are used.

If it is a local vendor, see if you can sneak a peak into the back room or just ask during conversation. I know exactly what flavorings my local B&M uses.

Likely not FA, I have that one and it's more on the tart side to me. Maybe a sweetener added?

It's a small online vendor who is protective of his process & flavors. I feel like it *could* hurt to ask, because he has declined to answer similar questions in past and I don't want to pester or create awkwardness. Worst case scenario is I buy a few mangoes and test them out. Life could be harder than that, I guess. BUT if anyone feels like discussing the qualities of various mangoes... now you know you will have a riveted audience.

I was actually thinking it would be cool to have a thread or four-hundred, each devoted to a particular flavor of all brands. One for strawberries, one for coconuts, and so on--discussing and comparing the perceptions of pro and con, percentage starting points, etc., for different formulations. Since threads don't close here, it could become quite a resource over time for the new DIYer.

Solid ice on roads here too now and oh so much snow! I can't even move my:(

We got a couple of inches over the ice, but it's mainly ice. Before I went to bed, the governor had declared a state of emergency because over 55,000 Tennessee residents were without power. Grateful we're not one of them.

Off Topic question - what would you all add to an RY4 to smother Caramel and or AP if it has any??o_O

In my experience it's impossible to smother ap. I would start with a different tobacco flavor. Are you talking about FA's? It isn't so sweet-caramel-goopy-candy as TFA's. Hangsen has a RY1 that's also not very sweet. Their RY5 is supposedly less sweet yet, but available only premixed, last I checked.

Agreed.... I made the Swiss Bliss a couple of weeks ago and the aroma is still holding my office hostage. Lol! It's sealed tightly and wrapped in a ziplock bag in the desk drawer and won't die. It's stout stuff, had never worked with it before that recipe.
I have a recipe for a dreamy RY4 that uses caramel, the perfect shake and vape, but once it sits for a few days, it's so strong and sweet it could stand as a flavor on its own. Something about those two flavors mixed builds momentum in a big way.

I did manage to get out of my icy drive this morning and get to the office. But I couldn't get the door open. Completely frozen shut.

Well maybe it isn't the Caramel - it could be the AP if there is any at all in the RY4s I have. I have the FA,TFAs double,HS RY1 and RY4:confused:

I've washed the exterior of the bottle, it's in 3 baggies, and in a container. It doesn't win that battle, until I open the container. I open it, grab the bottle, close the container. Then I try very hard to get it back in there ASAP. It's a feisty one.

I've made several mixes since then, there are always sundrous aromas coming from that room! I sprayed Lysol and I burn a candle on one desk while I'm mixing at the other. Came home from work yesterday and was greeted by the smell of AP soon as I opened the front door. I think it's telling me "Make more Swiss Bliss!".....HA!

Yes, once AP is in a mix, you have to live with it. But you know what? AP and I have come to terms. I let it out of it's double wrapped container occasionally and it does wondrous things to my recipes. And we're both happy.

About that sweet-caramel-goopy-candy. It was Aug 31 2014 when I first ordered TFA RY4 Double and shortly thereafter I mixed up a bit at ten percent. Up until that time I wasn't doing very well with my DIY efforts and while not losing interest in it, I wasn't succeeding either. Then I tasted the RY4D. POW! I loved it. It restored my faith that there great things to be done in DIYing. So far I have gone through 86ml of RY4D flavoring. Most of which has been mixed 10% RY4D, 1 drop AP per 5ml of 50/50 juice. I vape it every day. Everyone is different and I love my sweet-caramel-goopy-candy. :)

My bacon adventure -
Capellas Crispy Bacon Bits tastes like imitation bacon bits, strong at 5% imo. A primarily bacon flavored vape is out of the question for me, but it could be useful. Not particularly salty, but has a "twang" that's unmistakably bacon. The crispy factor takes a few days to bring some authenticity, before which there is an unpleasant bite.

I dunno about straight bacon, but mixed with apple and sweetness it's gotta be good!

Tried blackcurrant for the first time today. 2-3% with 1% of vanilla Tahiti and 1% fresh cream. Have to try it without additions tm. As wine champagne...here's a good creamy sparkling mandarin wine..ha, they don't even sound good together, but they are...2% Fa wine champagne, 2% FA mandarin, 1% FA Vienna cream!

Haven't tried it yet, along with the 100+ other flavors I've not used:D.

I have never tried eating blackcurrant. I'll try to do a review...I like pomegranate better, but I do like blackcurrant...like a tart/sweet type fruit. I'll mix it up in a bit standalone in a little bit with a fresh coil after I empty and clean this tank to say more:)

When spring comes (I promise it will eventually), look for fresh blackcurrants at the store. If you find some, get 'em! While you eat them, compare to FA Blackcurrant flavor. That is one incredibly accurate artificial flavoring! I like it with raspberry best for all that sweetangy effect.

I'm not sure HIC. When researching blackcurrant and what it taste like one description said bitter...needs lots of sugar. Say it commonly used in juices, jams, cordial. Some say it tastes like a dried plum or raisin. I'll say vaping at 3% low wattage 50/50 vg/pg it is not bitter at all. It doesn't remind me of a raisin. It has a natural sweetness...a little creamy? I am not sure it's tart...it's not floral tasting...thank the Lord! Would you say it's a little like a purple red grape...a little like a plum. Man it'd be great in bakery! Just a little tiny bit on tart side. There's a flavor I can't describe.

Ok a little bitter, but oh so creamy and naturally sweet. I think I like it better than pomegranate and definitely better than bilberry imo...

Time for some fruit combos, D. In my opinion blackcurrant is both sweet and tart. I get no bitterness from the flavoring or real ones. Then again, I eat aronia berries fresh, too (most people think they're not best fresh). Hey - another flavor FA hasn't made yet.

It is all 4 of the RY4s I have 3 different flavoring brands. And TY Teresa I will get some and try that;)
Most ry4 flavor concentrates shouldn't have ap. If you're trying to mask the caramel, it's one of the main components of an ry4. You may want to try a different flavor. With more specifics, like brands, I could help with the problem.

Ok I have TFAs RY4 double, Hangsens RY1 and RY4, and of course FAs RY4 and yes I do think it is the Caramel lol as I mixed 1 drop of FA Caramel into a 6ml bottle of my favorite tobacco flavoring and OMG it ruined it:eek::confused: So yet another flavoring that is not for me ugho_O Or should I say 2 more lol

I was assuming it was an eliquid to have AP.....if it's a concentrate, it's gonna be muted when mixed anyway.

Well maybe it isn't the Caramel - it could be the AP if there is any at all in the RY4s I have. I have the FA,TFAs double,HS RY1 and RY4:confused:

HS RY1 doesn't have any Caramel or AP but it does take a long steep time to get proper, like 3-4 weeks.
But even then I find it kinda "Meh", as it needs something else to complete the package.
If you don't want those flavor profiles then the RY4 types are not your, "cup of tea", so to speak.
Lots of ppl making Tobacco recipes use some AP to get the "Nutty Effect", but I'd use some Nut Mix, Walnut, or Pecan, or something else.
Edit: And yes, as RP said, Caramel is also the main add-on to RY4 types.
You should start with a more neutral Tobacco flavor and add your own goodies if desired.
Most of the FA & INW Tobaccos I've tried all had some "other things" added.
That's why I prefer most of the FE Tobaccos, (like Parler), because the're "neutral".

Something for your "Useless Facts File".
70% + of the worlds Anise production is sold to Tobacco Companies for use in Cigs, Snuss, Chew, etc.
Used for sweetening and moistening.

Even diluted I can not take AP and I thought someone said in this thread that it is in FA Apple Pie and FA Cookie and maybe TFA Cheesecake Graham Crusto_O Maybe I should just stick to FA Cuban Supreme FA Vanillas and a few other tobaccos:D now that I have 112 flavorings LOL

There likely IS some acetyl pyrazine in FA Cuban Supreme. Best evidence is the effect it has on the other flavors in this recipe: http://vapingunderground.com/threads/coffee-break.15445/ You don't get FA Caramel and Espresso to taste that smooth and sweet without some ap. From the tobaccos (FA and otherwise) I've tried, it's a common additive.

It's definitely in TFA's Cheesecake Graham: http://shop.perfumersapprentice.com/componentlist.aspx?sku_search=344909

And I agree with FA Cookie (probably more so than any other FA flavor) and likely Apple Pie.

Most any tobacco flavoring with nutty in the description right? Ok weird question is it safe to ingest as in swallow pg flavorings? Could I try them in coffee and other hot drinks? If you have already said I am sorry to ask but I do not bake so I need to use the ones I can stand other than to vape somehow:rolleyes:
