anyone try the new FA E-motion flavors yet. starting with "Glory" tonight. its real nutty on the inhale and when you exhale it turns into what I remember cigarettes to be be like and maybe a little caramel y ish ? Not RY4 though. Its like a sweet nutty cigarette. Not to shaby at all standalone 2% shake and vape. I can tell it will take some time to mature to its full potential. just cant get over how much it reminds me of smoking though for some reason especially since uts got other things going on besides just tobacco. If it wasnt for that I could see myself using it a lot.

I get that with their desert ship. Sounds like I've got something else to try out lol.

P.S. Hey @wllmc, Where'd you pick up those flavors?

Mission candy cream. And my personal experimentation with oba oba was zero so....

In the past 2 days I've mixed one drop of oba oba with a drop of many other FA's in about 1/2oz of whole milk. Most were delicious, a few were surprisingly so, and a few made me cautious. Guava, cherry, and mangosteen did not like this at all - insta-flinstone vitamins or something not for ingestion. Rum, cinnamon, clove, black licorice and the vanillas are amazing with oba (in whole milk :p). Cardamom gave me the distinct impression of a dream bar minus the citrus, lychee went to fruit-loop-land... so many ideas. Most tastes were predictable but with exciting potential. Only covered about half my FA, mostly fruit and spice.

Some very rough ratios involved and the taste of real milk doesn't translate exactly to vape, but I got to taste-peek at a few dozen oba combos I've been curious about with a cream base. Good thing I love milk. The spices though... each one had me saying - omg rootbeer float, eggnog, omg horchata. Yeah it's real milk and that helps, but that oba is really sumthin. Want to make like hundreds of actual test batches. Tomorrow for sure this time.

Careful as those age a few days, @Laughmore - the good can turn weird, and vice-versa. Oba-oba changes.

@mink http://flavourart.net.au/ may be of some interest to you :)
Thank you so much cardassian. Just got up to the page I posted on and found your post. Sorry I didn't reply sooner.
I'm aware of that supplier and also the Sydney one but they don't carry a good range of the flavours and no sample bottles. I wanted to get a lot of different flavours so I could try them out and have them on hand for all the great recipes that keep appearing on this thread. Where do you buy your supplies?

What changes to watch for?
Also, do you have any notes on FA Guava?

Oba oba starts out like Marshmallow, but it changes as it steeps. It's useful aged for malty effects, to enhance tobacco blends, and to modify nut flavors. If you use it in a shake-and-vape recipe, you can be surprised a day or two later to taste malt, smoke, other unexpected notes that you might not have wanted. Watch out around citrus and delicate fruit flavors especially.

guava... If you know Hawaiian Punch (the old red kind), imagine the sweet, fragrant, fruity flavor at the end of a swallow as you draw a breath - that's FA Guava. It's pretty darned strong, too. If you're doing tropical blends, you really need it and 0.5% will probably do ya. By the time I reach 1% I taste the Hawaiian lei along with the fruit. I'm (overly?) sensitive to aromatic/floral flavors, so others might enjoy using more than I can.

I just realized MFS is having a 50% off sale (no coupon) until the 25th on all flavor concentrates. Not much of a selection, and they start out over-priced, but still could be a deal.

Thank you! I'll include this in your notes I have saved on the computer.
Now if we can only figure out why they call it "oba oba...." ;)

Come to think of it, 'Ive never heard anyone talk about buying flavor concentrates at MFS. Does anyone have experience to know if they are a reliable (not watered down) reseller of FA and TFA?

I haven't bought flavors from them. But, I was looking at them yesterday and got upset with them. The logo for TFA a gray square with "Fa" in white in it. No wonder there are people getting confused! I went to "live chat" and very politely explained to them that FA is Flavor Arts, and TFA is The Flavor Apprentice. Maybe they could intercede with TFA? Or at least use large letters to make sure buyers know? All I got was a rude answer that it's TFA's logo and that was that. Nothing polite, nothing friendly, no I'm sorry but.... So, they have lost whatever business I might have given them. Customer service is very important to me. Sorry for the rant.

I started out with the MFS tobaccos. Most were 3-6% if I remember correctly. Biggest issue I had was steep times, and that was my fault not the flavors. I didn't know (at the time) that most tobaccos need a really long steep time to mature.

I've had okay interactions with them, but I know what you mean. I'm always surprised (again) at how some little rudeness from a complete stranger can mess with my mood. I think, "why do I care about this?" or "I shouldn't care so much"--but I just do. And conversely, when I'm treated well, it makes me happy in a way that is hard to account for.

Maybe they're banking on people confusing them with FlavourArt...odd. One would think they'd be more in tune with our lingo. It's not like they've never seen ECF or VU.

I like their "pa" logo though. :)

I'm going to preemptively half-assly apologize for the awesome time-warp post that's about to happen... (I'm sorry, still trying to catch up).

I was at a fancy dancy resturant about a month ago and they brought out some Tiramisu desert. Everyone but me know what it was. I thought to myself "oh, Ive heard the gang in the FA forums mention this flavor" so I grabbed a big ole fork full of that fancy stuff and boy...... Did I make all kind of funny frownny faces . Just dont like coffee stuff.

Note: I am the only former Marine that does not drink coffee

Now @Thunderball... I love you... buuuut I didn't think there was any such thing as a former Marine...

So maybe I'm not crazy?

You're most definitely crazy. See above post. Hehe. Did I mention that I am 1000% appreciative for every minute of your service? Because I am.

Sorry it took so long to get back to ya man! It's a bit ashy but not real bad at all. Definitely a slight smoky character, I like it!

No worries at all friend. Any descriptives I can get about FA tobby flavors is MUCH appreciated! Thank you.
They appear to be sold out att the moment, but vaporsphere in Australia have 2 metres Rayon CelluCotton Wick for $3.50. Postage was $2.20. http://www.vapersphere.com.au/products/rayon-cellucotton-wick
Well Ms Mink, the way Jessica Rabbit is lookin' at me makes me want to send you approximately sebenteen armfulls of rayon just for cropping and posting that photo.

Seriously though, I recently procured a lifetime supply of Rayon... let me know if you want a dual arm-hug's worth of it. :) #meanit

@KeyserSoze : Here's my take on the flavors I have:

Desert Ship - Nutty and has a Turkish twang to it, that's the best I can describe it. Not ashy at all.
Dark Vapure - STRONG! Dark cocoa bitterness and flavor, it's good but keep the percentage low. A bit ashy and smoky.
Cam blend - Not tobacco at all, kind of like vaping sandalwood. I MIGHT find a use for it...
Maxx blend - this one was almost definitely a miss-label, because all I taste is honey.
Shade - Closest to tobacco besides Desert Ship. Caramel smokiness and very little ash.

Hope that helps!

P.S. I'm also a fellow rayonaut :D

Maxx is the "honey" of the FA tobacco lineup, tastes great in "CARAMEL-COCONUT COFFEE," and 0.75% added to this Cepheus recipe is pretty fun. @Smoky Blue suggested Cam and black cherry play well together, 3% Cam is too much. I've never tasted a real cavendish or had a cavendish vape I've enjoyed so can't help much.

Was having fun. ;)

You know it's bad when you're first waking thought is "I should have drank less tequila and more water last night". The worst part (for me) is the follow up thought... "wait... Didn't I click 'post reply' on VU right before I passed out? Shit... Hope I didn't post something really stupid (again)."

Awesome. Thank you. That post is going in the notes. I might have to try a couple FA tobaccos. DS and shade are in the lead so far.

I'm still working on rayon. Just started using it and mostly just for testing flavors. Still not sold on the fact that it has inherently better flavor than cotton. I'm going to keep testing that theory though!

Good morning, everyone! I've been lurking on this thread for weeks, and haven't even gone through half of it yet! I'm a new DIYer and today is my first mixing day. I've got about 30 FA flavors to play with and my head is spinning, but please wish me luck!

Hi Kay_Fun and welcome. Wishing you lots of luck.

Like you, I've been lurking/reading and am now up to page180 on this thread after finishing the thread on the old forum. Haven't started DIYing either but have bought lots of flavours and collected a heap of recipes. Also downloaded a calculator in readiness for when my vape gear arrives which should be in a few days I hope. Feeling rather excited but a little aprehensive so please do wish me luck too!

Success! Here's my story...

I wanted to start simple, so I mixed 3 30ml bottles to start. I realized the expresso and cocoa flavors I ordered have not arrived yet, so the mocha recipe will have to wait. Mixed by weight using e-Liquid Calculator, used a milk frother after adding the ingredients into a beaker, and warmed the result on a mug warmer until clear. Nic and VG from ecigexpress, and max VG for these recipes.

Blue raspberry was fantastic out of the gate:

FW Lemonade 4%
FA Raspberry 1%
FW Blueberry .5%

OMG! Perfect for the upcoming hot months here in Florida. Can't wait to see what time will do to this recipe. Now I have to make a big batch!

Next experiment, Strawberry Creme:

FA Vienna Cream 3%
FA Strawberry 2%

After a few vapes, I realized the Strawberry was not as strong as I wanted it, so I added 2 more drops to the bottle (should bring the percentage up to 3 or 4?) It was still yummy as it was, and I'll report results later.

Finally, I tried a Banana Custard:

FA Custard 3%
FA Banana 2%

It's good, but needs more depth. All in all, I'm very happy with the results today!

verry nice !! i was thinking milk frother from the start but have yet to pick one up.. but do have the cup warmer right here waiting for my first steep.. did you happen to catch this post regarding strawberry ? very 'hmmm' moment .. and on my ever growing list to try :)
I have some interesting news: mixing a little spearmint with FA Strawberry and V. Cream makes the strawberry taste stronger and I taste zero spearmint! I can't relay percentages as I discovered this in a sloppy way, but it wasn't, like, a homeopathic amount of spearmint--I was certain I was going to taste it. I will report back when I can be more specific. (or if anyone has come across this phenom, please share). This is something I never would've thunk. I love those kinds of DIY moments!

I bought a very cheap one on Amazon that uses 2 AA batteries- works great, but warm the VG first or it is too thick to mix at a fast rate of speed.

MatchaDNA Milk Frother - Handheld Electric Milk Frother - Creates Creamy Milk Foam in Seconds

Only $6.95! Since I'm only mixing for myself, family and friends, this works out perfect.

Now I gotta order Spearmint...

OK guys, I've read the game over custard thread, and FULLY intend on buying some for special occasions, but does anyone have a custard recipe that includes all FA flavors? I've had a few custards before and love em!

@Kingboomer. Check out @HIC mixes. He uses almost all exclusively FA flavors and they are great. He does awesome work.
