Howdy folks! Been lurking on this thread, like I was over @ ECF for a while now. I am sorry I have not said much but I didn't/don't really have much to add to the conversation besides mentioning that you guys are all awesome.

I received my first order of 24x FA 5ml flavors from eliquidmart a few days ago and am slowly working on trying them all standalone in 100% VG (HIC your notes are an awesome help here). One thing I have noticed is that I have a hard time tasting more than a hint of flavoring on most mixes, it seems overpowered by the sweetness and possible flavor of the VG... Seems weird, I'm using essential depot VG that I have had for a couple of months now. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how one can decrease sweetness?

I do find myself licking drops of the mixes off my finger more than I am vaping them. I think l have licked up well over 5mls already... They taste great this way but the flavor is almost nowhere to be found when vaping it.

On a side note, I have a craving for something creamy, with hazelnut, a hint of cinnamon and possibly a hint of strawberry, any suggestions for a starting point here?

Thanks to all of you and for all the effort that has gone in to making this DIY thing that much easier.

Do you want the cinnamon to stand out or be a background note?

Hi Bob. My first thought was Coconut, but then I wonder how that'd be with strawberry... not real sure. Maybe Vanilla Classic or Vienna Cream? My brain is stuck, I know I'm forgetting something really creamy and great with those. I'm just stuck at strawberry.

How about:
.25-.5% cinnamon Ceylon
.5% fresh cream
.5% Vienna cream
.5% meringue
.5% vanilla bourbon
.75% hazelnut
1-2% strawberry

What are the flavors that you want to be in the forefront?

3% TFA Cheesecake Graham Crust
1% Strawberry
-----------------
.5 Cinnamon Ceylon
.5 Catalan Cream
.5 Hazelnut
1-2% Vienna Cream or Vanilla Classic
(because I love Cookie, you could throw in 1% of that, too)

Lol. I keep changing the flavors.

Holy cow! You guys rock. I think I want creaminess and hazelnut front and center with just a hint of cinnamon and possibly a teeny weeny hint of strawberry.

All flavors will be FA.

Thanks!

I've never had those combined, so proceed with caution, lol. Personally, I haven't had luck with Catalan Cream. Everyone seems to love it, but it doesn't sit well with me for some strange reason.

With the new info, I'll amend.

.25% cinnamon Ceylon
.5% fresh cream
.5% Vienna cream
.5% Catalan cream
.5% vanilla bourbon
.5% strawberry (Not sure if you'll even get a hint. If not, increase in .25% increments)
1% hazelnut
If it needs a bit of sweetness, add 5% meringue
Granted, I'm never mixed this, so it could be terrible.

for your too sweet recipes.. can you post up a sample recipe?
perhaps I might be able to help if I had a bit of info on what you are doing..

The sweetness I get from just pure essential depot VG with nothing mixed in. It's cloyingly sweet. The same sweetness is present in my single flavor mixes with a hint of the actual flavor I used. I have mixed from 1%-5% on strawberry, bilberry (2% only) as a couple of examples. There is a hint of the flavor with a sickly sweet overwhelming it.

vg is naturally sweet..
try this for me..

plain vg say a 5ml bottle..
use 1 drop of white vinegar..
(use a 10ml needless syringe)

see if that won't help a bit.. ;)

Thanks Smoky, I'll give that a try once I find some vinegar.

if you are doing fruits and "light" flavors.. use the white vinegar..
for dark flavors, like chocolates, tobaccos and some "dark" teas, use the apple cider vinegar..
it's tasteless, and it will help with the too sweet and also blend your flavoring in a bit better than a stand alone..

I know you've had both how's VT nic compare to to Bull City nic? I think I read BC gets theirs from Heartland.

Honestly, I never noticed any difference in nic I got from Wizard Labs (direct and through High Desert Vapes), RTSVapes or Heartland. I just bought what was cheap or had a coupon, figured some people tasted stuff in their nic that I just couldn't. I was perfectly happy with it and didn't believe VT would really be different. But I could tell the difference with Vapers Tek immediately - the only one I could tell apart from the others. I went nuts for a while just trying all my flavors again. It was like a whole new step up - everything tastes better. After using VT a while, trying to vape my old nic tastes really harsh, tough on the throat, burns my nose, and it smells. It never bothered me at ALL before, but going back to it after using VT? - no way.

In my opinion, VT nic is to WL nic as.... FA Espresso is to TFA Coffee Clear. Yeah, I used to vape that stuff and think it was okay, too.

Figured everyone looking on ECF needed a way to find the best vape forum. :)
Oh, they will. You sure helped em! My jaw just about dropped when I saw that earlier today. Balls man, balls! So funny.

Y'all remember when "Ben" from PV dropped in the old thread? I had a slight error in my order yesterday, Nikhil got back to me about an hour ago saying he'd dropped off the missing bottle. Popped over there and Ben was there this time. Lately, I'm seeing them both when I go in. If they had any idea of the impact they've had... I have new friends, FA has a ton of new customers, as does PV. When I mention how busy I know they are, they just stare, lol. Sorry guys, you offer quality stuff at the right price. We win!

So this next part had me unsettled yesterday. This is in no way a reflection on PV whatsoever. The place they drop orders has nothing to do with PV, other than selling their liquid. Well, the store owner was there. She and I talk from time to time. She was asking about the samples I was picking up. I asked her if she uses FA, she said "some". Then she started talking about some of the ones she does use. Some that are known to have the bad stuff in 'em. She sells some of the stuff that she makes in her shop. Well, it hadn't been too long ago before that that I heard one of her employees assuring a customer that they don't sell anything with those chemicals. I can remember at that time, it made me feel good about the little shop I've always loved. But yesterday, I left there feeling totally out of sorts. It made me really glad that I've started making my own. Even more so that I've come to know this fine group of DIYers. Y'all are fun people.

It really was a great thread, Ace. It still is, actually, when frozen in time. There was a really bad spell toward the end. I'm happy we picked back up where we left off and gained new friends along the way that share the excitement of DIY, good flavors, good people and fun.

The whole thread is worth the time it takes beginning to end. I know I've read it more than once. I learned a LOT there. Learning even more, still.

So Bull City was out of a few FA flavors I was looking for so I tried ecigexpress, how are their processing times? BC normally was a few hours, always amazed me. Also just to try it I got some "Pandoro", figured for $2-15% why not, other than the health concerns.
I always seem to get a mixing block when I'm waiting for new flavors....

I've had great service from ecigexpress. Usually my order is shipped out promptly next day and on my doorstep within 2 days.

Curly, I've always gotten my orders from ECX in under 4 days from time of order. I have had a couple issues with leaky FA bottles, but they've ALWAYS made it right.

I hate ECX's packaging, with shrink-wrap around loose caps. A few always leak, and it's a headache to unwrap and wash everything. On the other hand, I order from them anyway when they have what I want. I am a cheapskate, and I like getting allll the flavorings I want at one place (oh yes I do use stuff other than FA ;)

Thanks. Actual delivery of course dependant on method of shipping and location. But glad to hear they go out quickly. Speaking of FA bottles, are they original or rebottled?

Hmm. Hopefully someone else can tell you for sure. I've always thought re-bottled. They have an ECX sticker on the side and then shrink wrapped. I agree with HIC. The shrink wrap and loose caps can suck! It doesn't happen every time.

I figure even if it gets locked, we can still read it. Now if they delete it, they're worse than I give 'em credit for.

Thanks wllmc, I knew bull city was original packaging for inw and fa. It's the customer service there that got me hooked! I have back and forth emails with Drew like he's an old friend. I like to stick with vendors like that and show some loyalty and appreciation for how they treat me as a customer. No matter if I can spend $100 or $25.

Fully agree there, Curly. I was a PV customer when I first started vaping at all. He makes really good pre-mades. I haven't had the need to buy any of those in quite a while, but I'm glad I can still support them through DIY.

Yeah, if Bull City carried everything that ECX has, I'd probably go there first, too. I was fully impressed with their service. TFA has really good service, too, even though Bull City does carry those... Pretty great when you have a hard time deciding between vendors that all have great service. Kinda rare these days.

agreed bull city is top notch. the first time I talked to drew he actually emailed me first I believe to ask me if I liked a certain flavor I ordered. it was the new V2 custard by capellas. I was shocked that he would reach out to customers to see how they felt about the flavors and services provided. I have never had a vendor for anything do that. I was hooked since then. started getting all my pg and vg there also. super great place.

Haha, you came up in conversation actually! He didn't say who but said about someone being banned for the Mary Jane flavor, this was after I mentioned he should come to the underground and set up shop (he hasn't been open long enough to become a registered supplier though :(). The next day I get an email saying he checked out the underground and couldn't believe I started the fuss about ECF censoring VaporJoes and VapingUnderground. Surprised I didn't yet get the ban hammer for that! I truly feel like he's doing good in the community, being active and up to date, and cares for customers/vapors rather than making a quick buck while vaping is "in"
