From my recipe list but not posted anywhere... I liked 1.5% FA Papaya, 1% FA Coconut, 1% FA Custard very much and made a note that it's pretty strongly flavored (for me!) with those percents. Papaya has become one of my favorites, but I might not have any recipes posted with it.

I'm far behind reading this thread - will catch up in a day or two.
Thank you!

Yeah, thanks! I just got some Papaya and was wanting to mix it with something creamy.

I think it was HIC who pointed me to: 1.5% papaya, 1.5% pineapple, 1% custard - delicious (although I did increase the percentages by about 50% - dead tastebuds here clearly!)

i use a drop or 2 of white vinegar and it seems to hold the taste/flavor a while for me..
fruits like that :)
I use lemon or lime juice which also brings out the flavours of my fruits and keeps them bright for longer.

Is that like the way I do it or something new? ...cause if it saves time, I want to know about it! (not that I'm an impatient person...heh)
I knew I read it somewhere within the last several months, but due to being slack was too lazy to source it and provide a link.

Yup it's weird because he posted he was going to be posting on VU because he didn't want to be spending time on reddit and then about 5 days later he posts all of the recipes on reddit. WTF !

I'm a sucker for a new tobacco recipe, specially one with Maxx Blend, but of the four ingredients I only have the Maxx.:(

More flavors to add to the list... does it ever end:eek:

Botboy posted here on vapingunderground that he will be or is selling his own stuff. He also wrote that the recipes he posts here will NOT be the final version that he sells. He'll post here, find out what people like, try out suggestions WE make, then sell the best results without updating his original posted idea (intentionally contributing his inferior version for DIYers). All is within his rights, but be aware of his motivation.

Here is my suggestion to those of us who generally swap DIY recipes and techniques: do NOT help BotBoy improve his recipes!! He has implied he will use your suggestions for his own profit -- NOT to share with DIYers.

Here is where Botboy first mentioned his plan: http://vapingunderground.com/threads/citmint-by-botboy141.19526/#post-119095
"
I should also note, that some of my recipes will soon be available for purchase as mixed juices, but I'll let you in on a little secret...sorry to all but I won't be posting my finished recipes up here, just somewhere along their progress line. For the juices I'll be selling before the end of the year, it usually takes me somewhere between 10 and 30 variations to get the ideal profile that gets the best reviews and that I feel will sell best. The ones I'll post up here will be VERY good, but not the finished product for obvious reasons."

Here it is abundantly clear he plans to sell: http://vapingunderground.com/threads/so-who-sells-their-juice.19083/#post-118905

Followed by posted recipes asking for comments and suggestions, like this one: http://vapingunderground.com/threads/peanut-butter-cookie-by-botboy141-7-needs-improvement.19762/

Just be aware when your efforts are being requested for someone else's profit.

...and so if you follow that logic then could we assume some of the recipes he posted on reddit from this website could also end up as one of his products?

Yeah, that kinda shitty of him to go posting everybody's recipes there. If we'd wanted them posted there, we would have posted them there. I realize we made it public, but it was completely inconsiderate for him to do so without asking. I won't be buying any of his liquid, not that I buy premixed anyway. That's my protest.

EDIT: I buy one premix - Boba's Bounty. As long as it's available, I'll buy it.

the recipes he has shared on here and on reddit.. try at least a year or 2 old.. if not older..
and come from other sources, not original, not made by him..

still.. I say.. what may taste good to me, might not to you.. and there is a reason behind this..

i may be too high or too low in my percentages..
you may or may not have the "exact" flavoring..
I might dilute my flavors, or not..
one never knows..

I wish him good luck in selling any juice.. happy he shares other people recipes..

HIC lol.. now you might understand I i swear by that :p

Realizing someone is hoping to profit from work you've posted as free information for DIYers does not encourage an atmosphere of creative sharing.
I'm sure it will give some of us reason to pause before we post our best recipes and tips, perhaps even hesitate to help others who request help.

You can be sure botboy is neither the first nor the last to do this, but he is one of the few to actually state his plan.

Before anyone follows through on an impulse to delete/quit posting their own recipes (I have felt that urge myself), remember that possible guy your work really benefits: the broke DIYer who can't afford to buy juice, the wanna-be-nonsmoker looking for something tasty to keep them off cigs ... the wanna-be DIYer about to vape 10% Bread Crust... Not just wanna-be-vendors benefit from the info and recipes we share.

this is very true.. it's why most of my recipes will not see the net..
it is a shame, however, this is a public platform.. and vendors love to get ideas all the time..
think there was something said too about this on reddit.. its a double sided thing..
i shut down a diy group on fb because of it too..

too many want the work done for them, and will not try to find good juice flavors out on their own..
honestly.. just tinker with the flavors.. get familiar with them, and it is not hard to make something tasty..
the biggest hurdle is trying.

I think it is a very shitty thing to do. Copying all recipes from one place and posting them elsewhere is just not right. As was said above if the person that posted that recipe wanted it posted elsewhere they would do it themselves.

That said, I for one very much appreciate all of you that do post your recipes. Maybe someday I will have something good to post as well. With the crazy hours I have been working I am lucky just to get my own juice mixed much less have time to play... I want to though! I do hope nobody removes their recipes from here even though I have most written down there are so many people that do benefit from them.

I've really got no dog in this fight but I'll chime in with my own .02 because I'm brave like that ;). I can understand what you're saying about him posting all those recipes on a different site. But, didn't you post them here for public consumption? All he really did was expose more people to your work and he gave you credit for it. I don't really see why what he did was wrong. Perhaps it would have been a nice gesture to notify you, but I'm not sure that it was necessary considering the circumstances and platform.

I don't like it either but I can imagine other vendors trolling here for ideas and new recipes to try, and maybe sell them too.
But they will never say a word about it.
Most of us here just want to help others get off the "stinkies".
Always gonna be those just looking at the dollar signs.

Thanks to all that "contribute" here, as I've got so many recipes now it will take me years to try them all.

I find new recipes and enter them into ejuicemeup.
Make a list of flavors I need to buy, then order.
Get a batch of new flavors in and forgot what I wanted them for, lol.
Then repeat...
Got another 24 flavors on my new list, (flavor collector).
Might just have to start at the top of my recipe list and work my way down.

Smoky's Smoke Stack :D

I have a friend who wants to try and get her brother off the smokes, so for Christmas she's going to give him a spinner type setup, and I'm going to make him some (strong) juice. We think he'll like tobacco recipes (which I do not), so I'm going to mix up a bunch of zero nic recipes for his nonsmoking sister to try out and see what she thinks. This is one for the tobacco list - thanks, Smoky!

But, didn't you post them here for public consumption?

I did! But it causes a problem when they're reposted like that. I explained in this post I'm making over on reddit:

" I am HIC (HeadInClouds) from vapingunderground.com. Because my recipes were copied over here without my knowledge, I have a disclaimer for anyone who sees them here. Recipes named "HIC's ..." are my creations, along with a few others I see in other BotBoy141's posts with that part of my recipe name removed - like the Orange Tic Tacs recipes.
Vapingunderground.com is my home base and recipe "repository". I post and maintain my completed recipes in the DIY recipe forum there -- including detailed descriptions, substitute ingredients, variations, and sometimes CHANGES or additions. If you have comments or questions on my recipes, I will not see them if they are posted here, but I will on vapingunderground. If there are any notes, additions, or changes made after someone posts them here - you will not know unless you go to MY posts on the recipes forum at vapingunderground.

Amanda..
if you are trying to help out, you might want to look at my captain recipes..
those are pretty good for dumping the cigs.. :)

and @neverbeentovegas dude.. he should have asked and not just HIC.. that is rude of him.
for you to post all that, you are looking for a rise out of us as well..

sad, dude.. completely.

it's done, it's over.. and all i can say.. is that to check all recipes..they may or may not be right..
I know on purpose, because I have been thru this before.. my recipes have been posted from here to Russia and back..
I found some of mine in Canada, France, Spain and yeps even Italy..

to think this is a single incident.. dude.. lmao..

but it is sad people have to be like this.. and sadder yet, think they can make profit..
for again.. what might taste right to me, might not to you. :)

Everyone here is friendly.. thing is, when one or 2 come to stir us all up.. might not have the desired effect as one thinks.

My thoughts on posting recipes on reddit...
We have made them available for the public. And reposting doesn't bother me. But, in doing so there is 2 things I'd like to see. First, asking author would be a great start. Secondly, posting credit to the author should be done for every repost.

even the master list of flavorings, pinned to the side post of reddit is not his original postings..
not of his thoughts etc.. he has compiled a post of other peoples work there too..

making me think that i am thankful i was never a part of the reddit community, if this is all they have coming..
someone taking credit for something they did not do, and someone else condoning it.

I'm not intentionally trying to get a rise out of anyone. Just stating my impression. Like I said, I've got not dog in the fight, so to speak. I just didn't read his post at all like that. But they weren't my recipes either so I can see how you'd feel that way.

Vegas, yes, they do have a link as the name of the recipes, but they also have the ingredients and % listed, which makes it seemingly unnecessary to click on the title. Yep, we've posted them in public. To see a recipe shared here or there is one thing. To take EVERY recipe posted at VU first, thrown into a Xerox and plopped onto another site is just...... I still don't have the word. And these are the things that happen on a public forum.

I guess it's simply frustrating, insensitive and confusing, like many things on the internet. I have very few posted, myself. It's people like HIC and wllmc that have posted SO MANY recipes..... all their hard work. It's just really odd to see him do that.

imagine you create something.. special, and want to share with friends.. public or private..
like viewing a art piece.. there are clones there too.. still.. now you get the gist of it..
condoning it is bs.. sorry.. it is the way i see it..

Sadder to see someone try to give the impression they're an expert on another forum when they've been mixing such a short amount of time.....would have been best to just point people over here, but oh well.

the scary is that he is soon to start selling..
dunno.. but this is why i do not vape many vendor juices..
i may take to it like @SMOKIE has.. and demand b&m's and mixers to show proof of testing before i vape anything.

Know what else is copied? HIC's flavor reviews. I know I saw a couple of them listed. HIC created those. No mention of HIC in those, either.

that is why i pointed to that "master list" stickied on the side bar

and yes i saw the ones in that fa post too..

just happy for a change, i dont think any of mine made it there... yet.
i caught a few on lars site, and i know they are on a few other calculator sites too..
still.. ask.. it's only the nice thing to do and it will let us know you can take the time to thank the person..
manners still get one very far in the world.

no.. i take that back..
my space jam clone pluto is there..
and a couple others.. without credit too.
i had first posted them to ecf.. grr.. still..
just goes to show, asshats are everywhere.
