Personally I think the debate is healthy and necessary. If we can't work things like this out within the community then we have proven the over regulators point for them. One thing I learned in art school was those students that got all butt hurt during critique probably weren't going to make it. Critique and diversity of opinion are requirements for success in a self regulated environment.

Well said.

One day I'll get to try the prickly. Keep meaning to put together a big list of Inawera stuff, to take full advantage of inawerashop's 'first order' discount, and never get round to it! So that offer is losing them business! (temporarily, no doubt).

Right now I'm dripping Kaimaki on the taint of Honey Moon, thinking maybe I should clean my wick, but it's a pretty funky duet :p

DO TELL! What's it like?

Can't tell you that 'til I put a clean wick in! Just from a sniff test, I could tell it was going to be one of the more subtle ones - unlike the Honey. About the only distinct note I'm getting from it at the moment is from the mastic in it, but there's more underneath that to be revealed I'm sure. (Haven't tried vaping the Mastic itself yet - it smells sappy, piney, and scary). Made testers at 2%, and maybe Kaimaki could do with being higher, dunno yet.

(Sorry for the off-topic Atmos Lab stuff folks, I'll create a thread for it soon I promise).

mmmm - I'd vape pine sap flavor! Seriously - I love that smell.

Oh yeah, it's a good smell alright. And the bit that's in this Kaimaki is just dandy to vape. But I might well dilute the Mastic to a lot less than 2% before I vape it standalone!

So, just want to introduce myself. We quit the stinkies 3 months ago, started DIY a few weeks ago. I am a forum lurker, started with the other place and in a random Google search for recipes, I found this great place. LOVE the recipes, btw!! ALL of you are a great bunch that I have learned so much from from!! Wllmc, you, especially get my praise, your tastes just work for us, we are especially grateful for your recipes!

But anyway, the purpose of my response here, I started with Ecig, mostly because I am located in Washington, but I just really feel like I have to add that leaky bottles are not a given, I have placed at least six orders and all have been perfect. Who knows, maybe I have been lucky, and don't get me wrong, I have my own issues with them ( mostly not telling me when I am ordering an oil base or not) but I guess I just felt the need to say that leaky bottles are not an absolute.

I will add, however, that I refuse to order from bullcity again because compared to all other places, their shipping was pretty much obnoxious.

Anyway, you all are a great group that I learn so much from and look forward to learning more from. Thank you for all that you do here!!!
I'm pretty much a Bull City junkie. Love everything about it.
I know Drew will do whatever to clear up your concerns. He's a great guy. Customer Service is above and beyond. Shoot him an email.
My packages have always been well done. Definitely give them another shot though.

Noticed I don't have strawberry in my flavor box. FA decent or should I grab some from another flavor line?

I like having FA strawberry around. I wont lie , it doesnt always get picked first but it does go well with other flavor art flavors. when I make juice for myself its FA. its very fresh off the vine tasting to me. very flavor art. it is a light flavor tho. most my friends prefer other brands of strawberry but they like that fake candy stuff

Sounds perfect. Appreciate you taking the time to describe it.

For a mixed fresh fruit recipe, the best.
For strawberry shortcake, ideal.
Strawberry daiquiri recipe, excellent.
Strawberry gum, cereal, soda pop, candy type recipes - nope, no way.
(May 2015 note: haha, I was wrong about that last one. See "my notes of flavourart Strawberry" for tips, because I've now gotten all those from FA)

well hey thats one way to start my birthday ! thank you ! glad my myself and the rest of us can help you on your quest to quit smoking ! ....... because I am feeling extra good this morning.( Mrs.C had my coffee and my vape waiting for me this morning and the kids made birthday cards and put them in my laptop) I'll brag a little on this group. this group of people from the original thread and all the friends we made here are one of the biggest parts I stayed off cigarettes. ( hope the word cigarette doesnt cause anyone to relapse, haha) mixing and coming up with new recipes ideas kept my mind off smoking. then talking to everyone and learning little tips here and there just kept it very fun and pretty soon I just totally forgot about cigarettes. there are lots of talented people here and people who really care about what we are vaping and each other. like a big family. ........ ok enough mushy. thats crazy huh about vendors lol. ecig has freakin everything just about. Ill order there when I want that out of the norm stuff. wish you had a better bull city experience. maybe give them one more shot ;) I actually just got an order yesterday and forgot to order PG. I had just enough to make enough for trip this week and thats it. I got ahold of drew and got a lightning fast response and within 30 mins he had me an ordered all fixed up and shipped to my hotel for me next week. I have always gotten my orders exactly 2 days later. but the important things is your off cigs and in the world of DIY ejuice now !!!!!!!! welcome to the family :)
Happy birthday dude! Sounds like you had a perfect morning and I hope the rest of the day went the same!

Don't get me wrong, I have no real issues with them, just selfish superficial reasons. They shipped quickly and correctly and absolutely believe they have outstanding customer service. My issue was with how small my order was and how much they charged me for it. I live in Washington state and I doubled if not tripled the size on a wizard labs order and paid just as much. I can order from ecig, pay roughly 5 dollars for shipping and get it overnight. So, I guess to be fair, I have zero issues with Bull City, I just think there are better options for me for small orders. I think in the future I should just be smart and save my orders with them till I qualify for free shipping, unfortunately, I am a have to have it now kind of person and they were the only one that had what I "needed" at the time. I blame all of you for this, btw:p. I fall victim to "I am missing just that one flavor" for what seems like a perfect recipe all the time and my collection is already up to 116 flavors!!:(

Btw, Happy Birthday Wllmc, hope it was a great one!!

First, Happy Birthday Curly! Was hoping some of you experts had an idea on how to deal with flavor fade. I am noticing with the citrus flavors some pretty noticeable flavor fade. Any way to stop this?

Really happened pretty fast! Think it was about 5 days. I have had lime from a vendor that was just as strong 30 days later. Figure there must be a trick to stopping this flavor fade. Am finding it to be the worst in lime and lemon is better, but still has the issue. Would like to make some larger batches so I am not mixing all the time, but not if it is just going to be horrible after such a short time.

Five days seems pretty fast. I had a bottle of cuba libra that was at least a month old and lost the lime. But I often make up 30ml bottles for a week, and they last fine! Which lime was this one?

I've noticed the same with lime. I just don't make much at a time with that one.

Sent from my stupid iPhone because I don't have an Android.

It was INW Lime and FA Tahiti in a blend. The Tahiti brings a little bit of that zest to the mix.

I have INW lime, but I don't use it much. It's much stronger than the FA limes if I remember - did that one fade too?

I wonder if flavor fades only to a point and then stabilizes. Which would mean starting at a much higher percentage and vaping it once it got to that point. Anyone tried this?

What you could do is mix all your flavoring together for a recipe in a small bottle, then add to nic base as needed. I've started doing that with recipes I know I'll be using often, then only mix 15ml at a time.

If that makes sense.

I think the INW lime is stronger, but it also very different not having that zest flavor to it. Which is why I have been combining the two. I am finally getting some good juices after 5 years of trying DIY off and on (thanks to all of you wonderful people), but am totally lost as to how to mix just a flavor combo. Guess this would be done in parts?

Seemed the zest came out a little more with time, so maybe it is the INW that is fading? I am mixing with only 20% VG.

Yes, can be done in parts.

Here's an example with one of HIC's recipes:
FA peppermint - 1.5%
FA spearmint - 1.5%

Equal ratio so I mixed 2ml of each in a small bottle then shook the bejeebus outta it. Now I just use this flavor mixture at 3% in my premixed nic/VG base.

This was a simple example since it was only two ingredients, but can be very handy for recipes with a bunch of different flavors. In my experience, the flavors don't start to mute until mixed with my nic/VG base so I only make 15ml at a time.

thx man, I just hit my year vaping in august and october will be my one year mixing anniversary lol. still remember my first mix. did like 15 or 20 % TFA coffee. holy crap I almost gave up that day . hahahaha. I made some really good sub par juices lol. then I met HIC and flavor art and boom. good juice happened ha

LOL! I did the same on 8% M-Type based on TFA reviewer's comment. Cough, cough; it still stinks to me. One-year vapeversary coming up on Oct. 15. Postman just dropped 28g and 30g A1; time to try out the cotton rayon wicks! Happy B-day Will.

TFA Key Lime may be what you're looking for. Especially with VT nic you'll notice the hint of zest. I mix at 10% max VG. Lasts me over 2 weeks, never lasts longer for me.
