The BIG problem as I have experienced is that Fannie and Freddie (now under our very own government since 2008 when they were taken over under the GSE (Government Services Enterprise) is that our very own government is screwing us!!! Fannie and Freddie have full knowledge of all the fabricated, forged, phony documents utilized by these sleeze ball lenders/servicers that Fannie and Freddie continue to use rather than taking over themselves. All government agencies and the while house continually ignore totally anyone looking for help and pleading their case. It is truly sad that all this is allowed to continue. People like Brian Moynihan should be looked up and good attorneys, title companies, trustees, and courts should wise up to this huge scam that has wrongfully taken millions of homes from people like me. I own a place in Florida, but I don't technically "live" there. Sales tax is around 6% but varies a bit by county. How much is it in California? Property tax runs around 1% of value per year in my county, quite possibly less if you qualify for a homestead exemption (which I currently don't). What else is there?
