The Canadian government confirmed Sunday that it has imposed tariffs on US exports worth 16.6 billion Canadian dollars ($12.5 billion).
More than 40 US steel products attract tariffs of 25%. A tax of 10% has been levied on over 80 other American items including toffee, maple syrup, coffee beans and strawberry jam.
Last week, the European Union imposed additional tariffs of 25% on US products such as motorcycles, orange juice, bourbon, peanut butter, cigarettes and denim. Mexico has also imposed new tariffs on the United States.

Texas has an interesting law for farmers and ranchers. They can pay as much or as little as they want, and can force their employees to work 16 hour days or lo get if they want, and without overtime. They just tend to stick with minimum wage. When a worker gets injured, too bad. They just replace that worker. To top it off, no employer is required to give a reason for firing an employee. Look at the boss the wrong way, and you're fired.

The workers don't have to accept the job.. if they don't agree with the terms... farmer will pay more and provide better benifits.. if that is what it takes to get good workers.. remember Farmers unlike a retail store and even processors... can't just raise their prices.... the government controls the prices farmers get paid.

IF you owned a business would you pay your workers MORE than the value they provide or maybe more than you can afford to pay? I don't think your business will survive long under those conditions.

So many work at minimum wage or low wage jobs and do not even get 40 hours a week and are offered health insurance if they pay 1/4-1/3 of their salary for it. And it is sucky insurance that many participants cannot even afford the deductibles for using it.
