Yeah, gonna throw a Clapton on there to see what's up. I think I still just might be using a tad bit too much cotton as the wicking I'm getting is not quite there. Few dry hits, definitely not as saturated as it should be.

hmm are you running TC on it? in pwr mode is when I was issues like that .. no probs with the TC tho.. also .. two wicking tips straight from Ytube builds .. (1)make sure to push a toothpick or some such down the wicking holes so as to create an air channel so they don't 'lock' & (2) I usually run the wick no more than half way down the glass and 'Tip' the addy to feed it every other hit or so.

ok.. just a pre- order china vendor... but damn good price

yeah one sweet looking mod - would love to see it with the 200 chip but either way will end up getting one
Yeah, China pre-order, no selection of color with long delay. I saw that and thought about that but this poped up :)

Dammit I just ordered the VT75 yesterday.

I'm wondering I'd they'll drop to $100 with a color choice. (Wow I'm friggin cheap.) If I'm paying this much, I better be able to get my choice in colors.

Is efun just doing random colors for their presale price?

Thanks! Yeah, I've tried both power and TC. TC produces no dry hits bit weakish vapor due to lack of saturation. Think I'm gonna finally try dual coils on this thing. I always make a channel...just think I need even less cotton so will try like. 2mm coil so that the tails are even thinner prior to trimming. I want this to work.

When I did have a build that worked..it was a dream. Have not gotten right since and I have way too many other options that the quest ended abruptly:)

They probably do a bulk purchase of one kind, the one style you personally want less. I. My case it would be the tan leather ;)

I just got my VT75 a week ago. Just another for the rotation anand bunker. did you get your for the new price that poped up today? http://vape.deals/hcigar-vt-75-powe...ail&utm_term=0_51889d0d68-213cf8ab5c-55609933

I'd probably get it from Ecig.com. With a 10% off code it would be $75.59 shipped. I only ordered from ecigcity once and there was absolutely no communication. I sent them a message or 2 and they were never answered. I got what I ordered but if you have a problem, good luck. Has anyone had a good experience with them?

What Steve said. Did you dry burn the coil prior to wicking? I ask BC the resistance will change and "settle" after dry burning and working out hot spots. As Steve said, if all of that is in order. I would check the grub screws.

Good Luck

Thought I'd reply to this and answer both of you at once. I'm efficient if nothing else!

Yes, spaced coils, identical as can be. When they went in they read the same on the 521 and the mod.
I should have no hot spots since they are spaced.
I did not dry burn, completely slipped my mind. However, if the resistance changed after heating a few times, it still should not be hot on TFR and 'normal' on TCR. I'd think they should both be fairly close.
I think I'll have a look/feel at the grub screws. I cut one leg of the first coil installed. Moe careful with the ones after, but made sure they were snug.
Until then, thanks for the thoughts on this. Made no sense to me.
I figure it is punishment for not ordering any hardware over the weekend...

If you have a minute, check something for me. If you go into the Material Tab of Escribe with the mod hooked up. Click on the TCR=.00138 and the DNA200 SS430 Steam Engine to make sure the curves are the same. They are on mine which is the same as the profile I uploaded. If they are the same, the vape should be the same. Here's a picture of each one.

We go back and forth on this. I leave mine unlocked. I change batteries in the morning normally but even when I haven't I don't run into issues (just wait a few minutes for your coil to cool down).

Ding! We have a winner! At least I think we do.
Regarding my little issue with TCR and Curve being a different vape.
I am guilty as charged, I swap batteries at will. Vape, 'Hey I think I'll change batteries', change, vape again. Small wonder the coil wasn't reading right.
I just let it cool, did a null change on the temps/settings in EScribe, when I pressed the fire button I was asked New yes or no. Answered yes and voila, there was the proper resistance of .37
Vaping fine in curve mode now.

As penance, I shall not vape for 5 minutes. My word on it. I may borrow from next decade's vape allotment though.
Ah, who am I kidding? I'm vaping happily!

actually think they all look good but would prefer not the yellow .. wonder if they will offer up dif bat covers as the vt133 did?

yeah had been looking at the VT75 also a very nice looking deal - good hand shape.. but then I stumbled in here and the vt133 took it's place so will prob hold off a bit .. nice price tho.

So you like the triade so much you bought 2 more. I ask because I have 1 one the way and I can't wait. I love the feel of my rx200s in my hand so I think the triade is gonna be comfortable for me. I'm just wondering if I should order another since ecig.com has them in stock for 125 and after the coupon code there 112.50 with free shipping. That's a hell of a deal. I think I'll wait for my first one to show up, before I order a second. Just hope the red is still in stock if I decide to get another.

Wish I would have bought another vt133 when ecig.com had them in stock or from vapenw when they had there 4th sale. I procrastinated and now I can't find them for 80 bucks anywhere. Just don't want the same to happen with the triade.

Let me know what you think of the triade compared to the rx200. Besides being a dna. Thanks
I really like it . Fits good in hand . High quality mod. And after doing a inventory check today I guess I am a DNA guy lol. SX Q getting zero love

I am very interested to see how it vapes . It doesn't hold enough ML for a running around tank . But I think it will fit nice on my VS 200 .

@Nevweezy ... was it you with the batt level drop I asked about last night (as Steve believed)?

Sorry if so and I missed a reply.

I've got Steve's 25R battery discharge graph .csv in the 133s now but it'll be a bit before I see any effect.
Nope wasn't me. I did have a battery issue about a month ago with the vt133 not reading my battery level right. But this time it wasn't me.

So I waited for my delivery guy to show up today and went to check on my mail around 6:30pm, normally he's here by 6 so I thought my package would be there by then. As I'm opening up my mailbox I realize it's jam packed!! (no room whatsoever), it was obvious I didn't have my VT133 in there. So I threw a bunch of stuff out and headed back into my apartment pretty upset. I came to the conclusion that my stupid mailman saw a full mailbox and decided to try re-delivering tomorrow rather than knock on my door. Well, down on myself I decided to check my usps tracking number every 15-20 minutes or so to keep myself updated. 8:30 hits and POW!! order delivered. I ran back downstairs, opened it up immediately and thought 'WTF' as I noticed smudges all over the case that made it look almost as if it was discolored, to top it off I see what appeared to be a scratch on the front of my frame. Luckily I took it into a brighter setting, grabbed a damp cloth and cleaned it thoroughly. Whatever I thought was a scratch was actually some kind of residue left on the frame and the smudges are all cleaned up, there's just a small slight scuff on the cover which isn't too noticeable. I almost lost my head and thought I could have possibly gotten sold a refurbished product. However after cleaning it I can tell that isn't the case (at least I hope, damn you vapenw!! :cuss2:). Anyhow after all that mumbo jumbo my initial thoughts were 'man, this little guy is small'. Looks absolutely beautiful though. Got 2 new LG HG2's from vapenw as well which are currently charging to go into this little sucker. Now it's time to add Steves profile to e-scribe and see what the whole fuss is about :xD::xD::xD:

really hope I get my SS430 wire by the end of this week, looking forward to going temp mode on this thing.
Now then....let's do this!!

also...who the hell delivers mail passed 8?? lol I was almost certain my day was ruined for a while.

You might need to update the firmware first before uploading the Ecig file. I did for the one I got from VapeNW. It's not a big deal. When you hook up your mod to Escribe, if there is an update available it will tell you an update is available in the upper left hand corner on the general tab of Escribe. I'm just letting you know in case that's the case. Congrats and Good Luck!

Cheers,
Steve

You won't like that either. This is so sad. Barter?

not so fast there buddy lol, I have a feeling my bonding experience with vaping shall flourish from this day forth.
good luck finding another sucker though :p

I had just finished uploading the file, I see no notifications of updates anywhere. Should I just go to tools and try a firmware update just to double check?

No, if you needed to update it, it would have told you that it needed to be done before you could of uploaded the file. The old firmware didn't have the material tab.

To find your firmware version, hook up your mod to Escribe, click on the device monitor (It's at the top of Escribe). At the bottom right hand corner it will tell you. It should say Firmware Version 2016-02-23

Version 2016-02-23 it is, thanks Steve!!

I'm just letting these batteries charge a bit before I give it a go, man...I can't get over how small this little guy is :D
I'm actually thinking about taking the plunge and going the DIY route now that things seem to be getting a little hectic in the vaping world. But
am a little unsure of what Nicotine Brand I should go for. I hear a lot of good things about VaperTek and Liquid Barn, I personally am looking
for something super smooth with VERY little to no throat hit. Maybe I should go to the DIY forum for all this instead of derailing this thread, sorry guys!!

quick question Steve, can the mod be affected in any way if I disconnect it directly from the usb cable rather than from the e-scribe app? I'm so used to just unplugging these things out from devices that I completely overlooked the tab on e-scribe

I don't think talking a little about other topics here is forbidden . We have touched base on a few others like tanks FDA regs politics . I spend 90% of my time in this thread alone . To me I have found a lot of good people in this one . We have some members in here that bring a lot of experience to the table and I don't know if anyone else has notice but this thread is drama free .

I've thought about whether or not hitting disconnect will have any adverse effect on the mod. My gut feeling is it won't since all my 3s Lipo DNA200's I charge on a USB wall wart and there is no such thing as disconnect when you unplug them. That all being said, I try to remember to press disconnect before unhooking them from the USB on my PC. With the mod using data on the PC USB, I think it's better to be safe than sorry. Sorry I don't have a 100% answer for you.

As to Nic I'll give you my experience. There was a blind taste test on the other forum where someone bought quite a few Nics and mailed them to well respected members. They were just marked A, B, C, etc. Each person rated them in quite a few categories and Nude Nic came out as the cleanest, smoothest, etc. My own experience backs that up. The caveat is I haven't tried them all so I can't say it's better than everything (I'm almost positive VaperTek was one of the Nics in the test). I can try to dig up the link for you if necessary, let me know..

so know how that goes .. always something new or more to do .. let me know when you get a chance to mess with it if it delivers the goods ;p
Would you know it....I loaded 2 prebuilt tiger coils of really small diameter. I'm guessing about 1.5mm tops, wicked it up- BAM saturated vape. Score, or mostly a score! I know can tell how much cotton should be on the tails. Those coils don't taste very good, some cheap coil that was thrown in one of my orders, don't even remember but I never used them BC of diameter size. Too lazy to stretch them out. Anyhow, I think I finally figured it out and will try a 2mm and trim the hell out of the tails so they are what I would normally consider "too thin" and I should have saturation and flavor of SS 317L.

Thanks buddy!

As far as DIY goes two things to not always go the cheapest route on is Nicotine and Flavoring . Like Steve mentions they are different tasting nicotine sellers. I have not tried NudeNic but so far I've been happy with NicSelect which if I recall many people were also happy with. I mainly vape desert and fruit vapes that are either creamy or smooth and if you use a harsh nicotine such as what My Freedom Smokes sells you end up with a peppery taste on finish product. Other people claim to love MFS nic. Seems I've also heard good things about VaperTek . As far as Flavor Concentrates I use mainly Flavorart and Capella but some recipes I'll use Flavor West and Flavor Apprentice which the last two seem to require higher percentages (especially in single flavor mixes) compared to the first two. Flavorart has the Lowest percentage from what I've seen with some flavors taking even less then 1% for standalone. However they can be tricky converting recipes over from one flavor company to using only Flavorart. More and more Flavorart only recipes are showing up but they have not been around as long as FW or TFA.. Its very rewarding making ones own juice sure you'll be glad to make the switch.
On another note got my second 133 in yesterday along with the Smok TFV8 tank. Only used the RBA deck with it and the stock factory Clapton coils that came pre-installed and I'm loving it. Killer clouds, amazing flavor.built like a tank. For $21 this was a really nice buy . I got the SS version as they were out the Black so I had to use my silver battery cover for the best matchy matchy and it looks right at home. The TFV8 is a 25mm but right at the airflow control ring it narrows to 24mm so no overhang on the sides. .

Here is a perfect example for me anyways . I have been vaping for 3 years started doing DYI for 1 year . Just starting doing the RTA tanks 3 weeks ago . And was tasting pepper in my Griffen tank . Just read this went to my mixing table and we are using MFS Nic . You guys are making my Vape on point . Thanks guys

I'm just here to add a little drama ...

J/K of course. I agree, great thread with lots of good information.

As to Nic I'll give you my experience. There was a blind taste test on the other forum where someone bought quite a few Nics and mailed them to well respected members. I was one of the participants in that test and yes, much to my surprise, Nude Nicotine came out the clear winner ... and by a fairly large margin in my book. VaperTek was also included and I honestly thought it would ultimately prevail ... prior to actual testing that is. It is a very good nic but the test clearly demonstrated to me that nicotine refining has come a long way since I first started buying it. There are many good quality nics to pick from today.

Just for grins I also tested how well the various nicotines fared in ldpe bottles stored in the refrigerator short term and probably not so surprisingly, all the nics started to oxidize fairly quickly, some more so than others. Again Nude Nicotine stayed clear the longest. I think they all probably would have been fine had they been in hdpe containers at least and I'm certain they would been fine in glass. I was just curious about the softer bottles and what kind of effect using them might have on nicotine. Moral of the story ... don't use soft plastics for long term storage ... probably goes without saying but I had to test it nonetheless. :D

Thanks Steve!

I do try and read whenever I get a chance but I have to admit I am a slacker when it comes to posting, lol.

Thanks also for all the help and information you have provided everyone ... much appreciated even if, like myself oftentimes, we neglect to add a post saying so!

I wish I could like this post more than once. Very well said my friend!

No worries Steve, I like to definitely be on the safe side which is why I asked the question to begin with. Was a small user error and I don't plan on letting it happen again so your answer is more than sufficient enough for me.
I would love to see the link to that thread so I can gain further information about the subject, another thing I was curious about while going through nic is the amount of MG/ML used in different bottles, I notice some nics have less MG percentage and am a little lost as to what that ultimately does. If anybody could shed light on this I would greatly appreciate it.
also, thanks for the recommendation Steve!

The TFV8 is a 25mm but right at the airflow control ring it narrows to 24mm so no overhang on the sides. .

I definitely do not want to go on the cheap side with the nic as I hear it can affect a juice completely and either make it mute itself out or just give an overall harsh vape. I am not a fan of the throat hit, not one bit . I'm positive I want to get some flavorarts concentrates as well as TFA and Capellas just because I've heard such good things about them. I normally vape bakery flavors and creams, fruits are still something my tongue is trying to adjust itself to. Although I must admit I've had some pretty damn good fruit flavors in the past, if anything I'd be looking for a good honeydew, blueberry and definitely banana!!
Thanks alot for the suggestions buddy!!

On to the VT133....I've actually had a few hick ups along the way so I'll try to point these things out and see if you guys have experienced any similarities with your devices. So first off, I grabbed my Avocado 24 which is my favorite tank in rotation at the moment, while I was trying to screw it on to my VT133 I felt a pretty tight resistance towards the last few turns almost as if the atty didn't want to sit flush, eventually I got it to sit properly and it looked pretty damn good on the unit. However as I tried to unscrew it I realized the damn thing was stuck :gaah:, problem is the Avocado has the juice storage at the bottom of the tank so it made the process that much more difficult to deal with. I had to basically unscrew the atty from the top where the 510 pin connects to the deck facing downward to prevent any leakage from getting on my mod. Finally I had to grab a set of pliers to help unscrew the remaining base of the tank. I decided not to go the Avocado route and thew my Tobeco Velocity RDA on there. It still had some resistance going in towards the end, once it wouldn't screw in any further I picked it up to inspect it and the RDA didn't sit flush with the device, there is a tiny gap that I can see, maybe I'm just being nit picky here. But I'm worried that I could possibly have some issue with my 510 connector. I just don't want to have a potential defective device, I looked into vapenw's website and their return/warranty policy is pretty crappy. So I'm a little bummed out, haven't tried putting the avocado back on due to fear of possibly not getting it back this time :cry:. Anyhow I'm wondering if the threads on the device just need a little time to break in. My TFV4 and Kennedy RDA seem to sit perfect on the device so it could very well just be my Velocity since my Avocado did eventually sit flush, but I'm just a little terrified of screwing it back on there.
Anyhow, sorry for the ramble guys. Aside from all that I think the device works well, I'm in love with how fast it cranks things up and am still looking forward to making this my primary device. Hopefully the threads on my 510 connector just need a little TLC, we shall see.

by the way, good morning to you all!!! :coffee2:

Well when you buy Nic it's usually more concentrated then what you want your mix to be. The more concentrated it is the less you use. Here's an example of what I'm talking about.:

Example: Lets say you use 100mg/ml concentrate of Nic. You want to make a 10ml bottle of juice that is 10mg/ml Nic. You would add 1ml of your concentrate and 9ml of your VG, PG, and flavorings (10ml's total with everything added). Look at it like this, the Nic is 100mg/ml, you use 1ml so that's 100mg's of Nic. You make a 10ml bottle of juice so you take the 100mg and divide by the 10ml of total juice to get 10mg/ml final product (Hope I didn't lose you there)

There are juice calculators out that work the math for you but they are only as accurate as you are when inputting the information. So it helps to have an idea how it works so you will know if something doesn't look right. I'll look for the link to the Nic thread and PM it to you.

PS Here's the juice calculator I use: E Juice Me Up (It's a free download).

I own two of the 133 devices and have not had any trouble what so ever with any atty setting flush . I also use two Limitless RDTA(s) and the IJOY Tornano Nano and these have really long protruding center pins. DJLsb Vapes reviewed them and they are in the top 1-3 longest center pins. Not sure if these counts how many threads are on the bottom of the base that the center pin fits into. All set flush along with other RTA and RBA atties . Hope you have Not crossed threaded your atty while screwing it in.Kinda sounds like what could have happen but may not be the case ??? Hope you get it straightened out .Maybe you can get someone at a machine shop to check the threads on both device and atty before contacting VaporNW .They could say user error just to not have to deal with it .Take pictures with marco setting and put them on you computer and blow them up this may show problems you don't always see with naked eye. I won't get started anymore on flavor concentrates etc. as that can be discussed for days I'll just ad one the top concentrates I love using is Flavorart custard ..It mixes so well with lots fruits etc.but it needs time to steep .

On another note I did pick up a SMY DNA 75W from Gearbest during the 4th sale. They have marked the chrome and wood finish colored ones back up and never seen them carry the red but they do still have a few black ones for $60 shipped.Priority shipping is another option and doesn't cost extra.I had found this mod for $5 cheaper during the forth sale from Cigabuy but passed after going to this thread. I had first debated it after discussing that device on this thread and bought my second Vi133 instead but in the end still grabbed one the chrome SMY DNA 75W just to have a single battery DNA device..It may get gutted later on & turned into a squonker as I'd really like to try squonking but do not like Kanger's boards and think their mods just kinda feel cheap.I don't want spend $200+ just to get into squonking not knowing if I'll get into it that much

thank you for the advice, I just took some pictures and will transfer them over to my laptop to see if I can get a glimpse of something. From what I can tell there doesn't seem to be any damage to the either the atty or the 510 connectors threads. But I will do a little further inspection with the pictures all blown up, I mean honestly it isn't sitting flush by just a hair. I tried screwing my Avocado 24 in there just now and it seems to be going in smoothly now.Seems like it just needed a little break in. One thing I do notice with the Velocity RDA is when I get to that last turn while screwing it, it makes a sound like it snaps into place. Nvm, just noticed it makes the same sound when I put it on my Sigelei 150 as well :p. Think it's because of the top cap design on the Velocity, I think I'm pretty much gold.
I can deal with the minimal gap, still thrilled about this little thing!

I must add, the smoothness you get from this device is oh so superb. I can't believe how much better of a draw I'm getting from this compared to my Sigelei 150 and my Istick50. It's in a completely different ballpark, thoroughly enjoying the hell out of my vaping experience with it so far.

The Raven's Moon arrived from FT, missing the spares kit and threads that will slice you open by looking at them (CS ticket created). It has sort of a Taifun type chimney and chamber. The chimney pushes the o-ring down inside the chamber when you try and assemble it, rendering it unusable. It also came with no o-ring in the top cap so the juice just poured through it like a funnel. I am sure that these issues are just a one off on this manufacturers version, since the one a friend has does not do any of that. I would also imagine that the authentic works properly, and should for 300 bones.

Other than the expected clone issues, the Raven's Moon is a really stupidly designed RTA. With all the recent breakthroughs in vaping over the past while, to bring out an RTA design that you cannot access the build deck on without pulling the wicks is asinine... I can live with having to drain the tank to get access to the deck, done it for years with many an RTA. The KS RTA can be a PiTA to work on your build with having to unscrew the tank body from the base plate for access but you don't have to rewick it to check your build. I guess the Raven's Moon was designed for vapers who make perfect build that never require any maintenance except to rewick.

Now that I have an o-ring in place that fits and a dual 26g SS316 build on it wicked with dm Viskose, it actually vapes quite nice. Nothing amazing though and absolutely nothing that would warrant me to seek out an authentic. I'll try some Claptons in it later, as the 7ml tank should keep them juiced for a little while. :giggle:

If you are up for a novelty tank that has a few issues then pick a clone up. If you have the dosh and want a eclectic RTA to put on a stabilized wood mod and post pictures in the HEMO group... then an authentic version is the RTA for you! ;)

Don't lock mine. Have had the OFF thing happen on all my dna but after several times I have blamed it on the atty. My supreme never has yet. I think it has to do with connection and using ss coil. It reverts to watt mode.

W00T! My VT133 arrived today from VapeNW. It arrived sooner than I expected, I ordered it Sunday afternoon and it shipped out on 4th of July, very surprising. I really figured it would just ship out on the 5th, but here it is! A big thanks to @Wingsfan0310 for allowing me to use his files to set my mod up and get up and running. I do have an SMY SDNA75 that I have had for about 2 weeks, but that came configured already. I can at least these now, until I learn some more and tweak 'em to my liking. I have a Merlin on it for now, but not sure what toppers I will eventually settle on. I'm leaning towards the new iJoy Limitless Plus. I think a red and/or blue would look sharp with matching door covers.
