There is a large difference between having some thing you have tried to understand and it not work and having something and giving up after the first attempt and blaming the mod. If you spent more then a few minutes with it trying to get it to work then you already pass as #1, what we are talking about is the defendants in lane #2 and how absurd it is to go on with life living like that....How could you possibly get through life like that?? Seriously?

No, it hasn't been replaced yet, I bought another. That's how I am able to compare them side by side.

But I didn't mean to defend or condone bitchy behavior. But I do remember making a semi-joke about throwing it against the wall which was referred to in these posts about spoiled bitches. So just wanted to point out that yes, I did my due diligence, and secondly you have no idea what attempts others have made to get their mods working. Personally I try to refrain from insulting name calling when I don't know the whole story or both sides of an issue.

And as to bitches, one thing that makes me even madder than lazy fucks asking questions that could have been googled, is posting a new thread on a subject that has been hashed and rehashed and is generally unanswerable. "Hi, I'm new here and was wondering if someone could tell me what is the best Mod to get" :kickbutt:

Im pretty sure thats the biggest contributer for them, you can easily see that just going through the thread on how quickly people go from excited to hate it and either try selling it immediately or listen to what the next 5 or 6 posts that follow say and then come to love it....People need to start learning how to manage their impatience better because its a pretty gloomy outlook for humanity if thats how people really act and react these days...I love a challenge and not having shit handed straight to me....its one of the reasons Ive pushed myself this far into multiple hobbies and job types...

If you hand a kid a video game system in the 80's-90's that kid would push buttons and carefully document how each things works in their heads and then learn from there....try the same thing today and the kid will toss the controller across the room and call the system stupid or some other name and then move on to something else....Im wondering if thats because the parents have always provided new stuff in constant for them or has the human mind really changed that much since then...I acknowledge the art in the smallest item, the kindness in gestures, and appreciate almost everything I touch and see, even if I dont understand it off the bat. Maybe thats why I will take a few days just to learn something and then pass the info along, even if the person its passed to doesnt seem to have the care of day to follow what Ive learned.
Nice rant, I know what you mean. Guess growing up poor set me on the mindset to make the best out of what you have. Hell I remember back some years ago I was hanging out with some friends at a local pub , I just got back from a month in Europe doing a job. A kid says "Man I wish I had your job but I never went to college". I tell him neither did I, I just spent about 8 year's learning, studying both home and at work. Told him pretty much no life but stay focused and it will pay off . I also offered to help him with some insight and things to kickstart it for him . He goes off and says no way, he will only work 8x5 a week. So I tell him then to be satisfied with a $10 an hour job.

The entitlement generation, this is what you get when everyone gets a trophy in school bullshit. I really have zero tolerance for them.

Well, you're not the first to mention throwing the mod against the wall. I can honestly say that I was not specifically referring to you. That's the problem with FB, groups, and forums. Everyone always is so sure every comment is about them. Had you just come straight and asked me then I would have told you so. As far as the name calling goes, hey I'm an honest non pc kind of guy. I shoot straight from the hip. I also do my best on this forum to help out as many people as I can. If anyone doesn't like that just hit the ignore button.

No one has ever inferred that I was "PC", so that's a first lol. I have followed this thread and didn't remember any other posts referring to throwing it against the wall, and as you didn't specify who you were talking about I made an assumption. But yeah, you are more than helpful and I have benefited from your advise, so don't feel the need to use the ignore feature...yet ;)

Lol, it's all good. Follow me in some of the FDA threads and you just might get to use that ignore button. Lmfao.

That's good. I could write a book on that subject, but have hijacked this thread long enough.

On the G2, the only mixed coils I have used are kanthal/nichrome and TC functions. Anyone tried other combos of metals? Been wanting to try a kanthal/SS mix, in maybe a kanthal core and SS fused clapton, or framed staple. I get a slight metallic taste from nichrome sometimes, and was thinking SS might work in a similar fashion to nichrome for a quicker ramp up.

Ive tried SS/Kanthal, SS/N80, Kanthal/N80, Multiple Types of Twisted SS and Various Kanthal/N80 types like Nifethal70/SS combos. They all seem to function the same as each other in xXx Mode at the settings I normally enjoy.
It also has TC'd builds that I couldnt TC even if they were just a single metal on any other device but it does so with various metals combined like below. My normal Settings vary for FSK Temp Curve from 17% to 58% but I like 130w/510°F and the builds vary from .06-.2 Ohms and vary in metal type from Kanthal, Nichrome, and SS in Various Gauges as well as how the coils are constructed which makes a big difference as some of the coil can overheat and burn while the rest stays cooler, its impressive that the xXx Mode covers all this and makes the adjustments necessary to keep the vape seemingly unchanged.
SS/KA1/N80 24g Twisted and Paralleled:

Incredible coils as per usual. But that wattage, temp and fsk looks on paper to be crazy high. I'm keeping an open mind and gonna try those settings on some of my lower ohm builds, but right now I'm just using a fraction of those numbers.

When you delve under .1 most of those wattages over 100w-200w barely get it up to 3.8V but it gives relatively the same vape as say a .3 Ohm coil at 70-80w....it balances out

Well as per usual this type of misinformation spreads... Seriously? This goes far beyond Red/Blue... sounds like I am talking about street gangs... doesn't :).. anyhow I digress.

"Chris Hughes (a great guy) from Fat Cat Vapor Shop wrote on Facebook:
The Pennsylvania State Republican Party just a few minutes ago voted to wipe out every vapor business in the state of PA. The mechanism is a 40% wholesale cost tax that includes a "floor tax" that requires all PA vape shops to write a check to the state for 40% of the wholesale value of their entire inventory on the day the tax takes effect. Nobody can do that.

The Republican leadership of the House and Senate just committed a fraud on the citizens of Pennsylvania, by claiming a tax that they knew would close 100% of these businesses would magically generate $13.3 million in revenue.

If you live in PA, and vape, and happen to be registered Republican, I strongly encourage you to immediately change your registration to Democrat, and call your Republican officials in Harrisburg."

This was Republican lead and controlled my friend...Can we please put this silly in-fighting to bed now? On this thread and others?? Remember States have some control. Here in California (FAR from perfect), but we actually just passed a bill that was the complete opposite and we are technically a "blue" state. Let's please stop spreading misguided agendas and focus our attention and at least unite around vaping. Misguided missiles don't take out ships. Follow the money... you will find the hands of Red and Blue alike... guaranteed.

Nobody is spreading a mis guided agenda. When most of us talk about vaping regs we are talking about FDA regs. This pertains to the national debate and national politics. In that scope of the argument, the Democrats are overwhelmingly against vaping.

hmmmm, I see it much differently and a bit more detailed if you will. FDA | Health Org | Big Pharma. We've had this convo in other threads, just sharing this here for others, we prob won't find common ground here... hey I still appreciate you for vape gear info and such... just not politics:) and that's cool.

Last post on this but I feel that this information could use some circulation... then I'm back to G2 in this thread :)

Hello all,

Quick question on the FSK setting. I am currently running a single coil with twisted 28 guage 316L and have it where I like it in xxc mode. If I switch to a dual coil 316l build with different Guage wire will I need to readjust to that tank, or should it vape similarly with whatever 316L I put on it?

Thanks!

With a dual coil you'll probably have to adjust the FSK Curve a bit but not much.

I had noticed that one of my silver G2's felt a bit more grippy, and was just looking at them closely and see the finishes are different. One is satin silver over the whole surface, and the other seems to be cut or shiny silver inside the male/female/ohm symbols. Anyone know the story behind that?

And no, I have not noticed a drop in coil life. But I use so many different attys and mods during a typical day that I might not notice anyways.

Nice cover, were did that come from?

That's the Herakles RTA right, how do you like it?
Thanks

The wrap is from Jwraps and yes...thays the Herakles RTA -4. This is one has the 4 air channels, the controversial air holes under the velocity posts.

I like it. It's a good vape. Very similar to my Griffin 25. In fact they are wicked the same...so they perform about the same to me.

Exactly, the LE has machined out decorative emblems. The SE has stamped decorative emblems.

The machined out emblems on the LE are grippy.

Pretty sure Raymo2u uses xxx mode. Click the mode button 3x till you find xxx mode. Scroll to it. Hit the fire button. Make sure it says xxx on the main screen. Then hold the mode button and the +/- button at the same time. Enter insanity menu. Scroll till you see FSK Curve. Hit fire button. Adjust fsk curve till you find a vape you like.

Does the temp and watt settings make much difference with this mod? I've been playing with it for over a week and can't really get it dialed in. I'm still on 2.4.7 though. I haven't been able to get a chance to update yet

Definitely, watts controls how quickly the coil ramps up to the temperature you set. Once you're happy with the ramp up time you adjust the temperature to the vape you like.

Is the temp dependant on build like watts in power mode or is it just personal preference? Like if I was running a fused clapton I would run it higher than a standard micro coil in power mode but in tc the smaller coil can be ran at the same settings?

You're probably going to want to use more wattage with a clapton as it will need more power to ramp up. You would also adjust the FSK curve to achieve that. In TC watts equals ramp up time temperature determines the heat of your vape. In wattage mode you control both those things with just your wattage. That's the difference between the two.

I have an issue. I have dual Clapton coils. Don't know the wire size. (FSK 4%, XXX mode, 0.22 ohm, 75 watts, 310F) When the G2 is cold and I hit the fire button it doesn't fire. The screen says it's only putting out 1.4 volts and either 4 or 8 watts. I have to keep hitting the fire button and messing with the RDA. Then it'll start to work. After that it's fine unless I let it cool down or put another RDA on it.

I took the RDA off and put it back on and it stopped all together. If I bump the temp to 350F it will fire. So I upped the FSK to 5% and lowered the temp to 290F. Seems to be working now. I'm starting to wonder if it has a bad soldier causing a loose connection. Haven't opened it to look but if it keeps up I will. Or I may try rolling back the firmware a step.

Are you resetting the resistance by hitting the fire button with no atty attached until it says no atomizer?

Yes and it's getting worse. If I let it sit I have to move the temp to get it to start working...I'm going to have to try something.

It might be that you have your temperature set really low. I vape at 420F and it's lower than most people. I'm not surprised your getting little to no vapor at 290F.

Cheers,
Steve

I'm running dual clapton's right now in my Boreas ohming out at .24 at 80 watts and 480f with the FSK Curve set at 11.5 in xxx mode. Try that but before you do re set the resistance.

I just tried your settings and I barely get any vapor. The settings I just listed above need to be run at 400F or above to get any vapor production that is worth while.

Now I hit the fire button and the watts and volts go to zeros. I have to keep raising the temp to get it to fire.

This happens to me as well.
I'm thinking now that maybe my temp is set too low as well. I generally keep it well below 400 but I'm also only running a single 3mm id ss coil. But temp is temp, don't matter what you heat it with I guess, still needs to hit a high enough temp to vape

Well I set it to 400F hit a couple times. Let it set for 5 minutes and it won't fire. up the temp till it fires hit it a couple times set it down foe a minute and it won't fire.

That's correct. TC works by the mod sensing resistance change in the coil from a room temperature state. When it calculates the coil has reached the temperature you set it varies the power to keep you from going above your set temp.

Temperature controls how hot the vape gets.

Power controls how fast you get there,

Once you find out the temperature you prefer it's the same whether you have a beefy Clapton dual coil or a small regular single coil. As you said temperature is temperature. What changes is the power required to get you there. The more metal mass in your coil(s) the more power you will need to get you to your preferred temperature.
