Looks like it is back to the Lavabox M for me. I was looking forward to that slice though. No hard feelings here of course!

Yeah, it was definitely worth a shot. After things have settled tho and as others have mentioned, if it were Walmart or Chase...that would be different. This is a small business that this type of error is far more devastating. At least they owned up to the mistake and did the right thing and refunded the orders.

I use the Mooch recommended Basen and Brillipower. I have 1 of the Hohm 26650's I got on a 4th of July sale, good battery but I can't say any different than the 2 others I just mentioned.
Exactly right! The Basen is just as good as the Hohmtech. Go with the one you find the best deal on. Stay away from the yellow MXJO’s.

How's the slices real world battery life?
Assuming your using their own battery I guess...

I run mine at 75-85 watts in xxx mode. If I'm vaping casually I get most of the day out of it. If I'm chain vaping like a fiend I get like 4 hours out of it. One thing I will say about the battery is that 3 amp charging comes in handy on the LE. Never thought I would use it but on more than one occasion it has saved me even though I do 90% of my charging externally. 90 minutes from 0-100% with a 2 amp brick.

That usage is from the Basen and Hohmtech batteries they perform the same so just go with whichever one is cheaper. Stay away from the yellow MXJO’s. Your battery life will be significantly less with them.

I think that's the original, not the G2. I remember they carried both but the much better G2 was actually cheaper. If anyone is interested I would definitely check with CS first to verify which one it is.

Oh wait, I just searched ecig.com and that one you linked is the G1, the G2 is here and they restocked with a veangence with a lot of colors:

Looks like were due for a new update.

Hi Jack,

Good to hear from you. We have another G2 and Slice update coming very soon. The entire EPT engine algorithm set has been recoded and tuned for greater consistency. We’ve pioneered the EPT system, now we’re getting really good at it. We also added a couple updates and applied a couple bug fixes. We’ll be announcing the update soon (ETA is targeted before next couples weeks).

For the G2, the update integrates FSK Temp Curve for tungsten (like the Slice), gives users the full SS enhancement like the Slice (304, 316, 317, and 430), and with the new EPT retuned, loving the results we’ve tested thus far.

Hope you weekend is solid.

Just like our products, this email is Hohm Made…

Thank you,

Ben

Here's another little teaser for you Hohmtech Freaks.

Hey Jack,
Triple cell mod...in talks, but wouldn't be sold within US with current regulation statutes in place. However, if we move forward with this, it'll be made available from distros/resellers somewhere outside US. Double cell Slice (aka Hohm Run) in talks, but again, not sold in US if it were released any time before we see modifications to the regs.Just like our products, this email is Hohm Made...

Ben just said they're making one but it won't be sold here. It also looks like they're doing a dual 26650 Slice. Either way I'm buying both of them.

Hmmmmm, fasttech isn't in the US.... If it is still a problem I am close enough to Mexico, gotta find a drop location there and hire some mules to bring them over....going to change my usrname to outlawvapes

According to Ben's email I posted a few posts back they are doing a triple 18650 mod and a dual 26650 Slice called the Hohm Run. They will be distributed outside the USA. I guess that means we are going to have to buy it from an overseas supplier and hope it gets past customs. Either way I am so glad to see that these Draconian regs are not stopping a U.S. based company. Bravo Hohmtech!

A dual 26650?? Too bulky and too heavy. I would have preferred a single 18650 option.

I am just hoping the new mods have the same build quality as the G2, not the slice.

Sent from my SM-N910P using Tapatalk
The build quality on the Slice is not bad. The paint on it sucks. However it's no where near the build quality of the G2.

You can use the Slice with a single 18650. Just get a 26650 sleeve adapter.

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N915A using Tapatalk
Yes. And I could also use it as a paperweight!

The Slice is a huge miss in the quality dept on many fronts. Making it lighter by using an 18650 would only solve one of those issues.

Oh well, opinions vary. I have 2 and I find myself reaching for this mod more often than I do others. Love the look and the feel of it. Performs like a G2 in a much prettier compact package. I know many others here that feel the same way. That's why it's great to have such a huge selection available to us for now. Different strokes for different folks. I know this for $59 you could do a lot worse.

The way I see it, the only reason to buy a single 18650 mod is for its small size. Getting a mod designed for a 26650 defeats that purpose. That's the main reason I never bought a Hcigar VT75. I knew I wouldn't use a 26650 in it. Made no sense to me to get a mod bigger than it needed to and then use an adapter to put in a smaller battery. YMMV

I still enjoy using my slice and love 26650 mods for the road because of the size and battery life. As Steve said 18650's are a more advanced battery for performance though.
With the Slice when you compare it too the Stout and VT75 for build quality it falls short. Still love the FSK board though, just hoping for the next version to up the build quality.

Can anyone post pictures of the g2 comparing size to other known mods. I wanna pick one up but am worried it's to big? If possible maybe next to a vt133, rx200s, effusion duo, lavabox, vaporshark, or another common mod. Thanks

It's right at the same size as a box of 100s cigarettes, it isn't big as it seems but certainly not small.

Here it is in comparison to a Boxer DNA200, a Think Vape Panzer DNA200 and a Lavabox DNA200 with the extended battery.

It makes the Lavabox look small even with extended battery :teehee:. For me that's not the worst part. The worst part is they couldn't have made it less ergonomic if they tried (it's a flat out box with no curves). It's probably just me, but I'm over that type of design..

Cheers,
Steve
