Hohm wrecker g2

I had a problem with the only new G2 I bought with it getting a lot of bad atomizer and what not messages. I was almost going to return it for a refund to ecig.com but since it was a Friday I decided to use it over the weekend and the problem went away, not sure what was causing it. I still have a problem with some horizontech tanks, they all have drip tip orings on the 510 now and so no more problems. I also did have a problem with one of my Supertanks, none of my Hohm mods liked the coil I had in it but worked on other mods, changed the coil and problem solved.

I don't have any problems with all 3 of the refurbs I bought, every once in awhile I forget and have to clear the last ohm when changing tanks but not often.

I found out the coupon code from the 4th of July sale is still working for the refurbs: G2REFB drops the price from $99 to $54, so tempted to replace the silver LE I sold to my friend, no need to say it @Deucesjack , I am my own worst enabler :giggle:

Links for the refurbs:

http://www.vaporcube.com/h-wrecker-...-control-box-mod-manufacture-refurbished.html

http://www.vaporcube.com/h-wrecker-...-manufacture-refurbished-limited-edition.html

I have 3 standard edition G2 refurbs and they all look like new, Black, Red and Blue. The Blue is probably my favorite, so happy I got that one, it is listed as Dodger Blue though so if you like in San Francisco you will probably hate it  :D The Red is real nice too but depending on the light it is sometimes a burnt orange.

Dammit I am so tempted to pick up one more, I use all 3 of my G2's everyday and all 4 before I sold my Silver G2 LE to my friend, now he mocks me by sending pics with different tanks he puts on it all matchy matchy.....bastage.

Nice deal, but for me with tax and shipping came out to 63, ecig has them new still for 69. The 6 bucks extra is worth the new one over a refurb IMO. Might be better for those out of CA that won't have to pay tax

So, I just had to post this! I use the G2 while I'm at work and the Hohmwrecker moniker might offend, so I popped Puffy on, lol.

The thing is I had problems with the new one I got from ecig but no problems at all with the 3 refurbs. They all had the plastic on the screens as well. I actually thought maybe they had made a mistake and sent me a new one. But all 3 refurbs were mint. At least with the refurbs there techs go over it here in the USA so you have a better chance of getting a perfect working one.

G2 battery life?

When I screw down my Petri V2 I would get the "Watt Limitation at this Ohm Load" error message as the 510 screw on it has too large a diameter.

I removed the 510 screw from the Petri, clamped it in my drill chuck and put a small 45° chamfer on the edge of the pin.
Problem fixed.

That's a really good idea! I can't run my derringer on my G2 at all. I'm going to try the oring trick first but if that doesn't work I'm definitely going to try that

Depends on the batteries and your settings. One of the sets I use are lg chocolates and get 2+ days out of them personally.
I get at least that on Samsung 30Qs as well. I find the battery life to be better than any of my other devices. Standby power usage is all but immeasurable to boot.

I run mine low, normally between 40-50W and 450-500deg. I haven't tried vaping a fused clapton all day either which would obviously take more power and lower battery life.

As an example of what I usually use, because I don't get time usually to make claptons. Right now I have two 10 wrap 28g kanthal 3mm coils in my derringer running in kanthal mode at 40w and 450deg. Been vaping it all morning and the % hasn't moved.

That's right, I got my derringer running on my G2!! Woohoo...thanks to the oring trick

Great to hear the oring trick worked. Another option is those mod saver discs kidney puncher sells to prevent scratches when screwing on your atty. A friend of mine made his own using an old credit card but really anything that raises tanks with longer 510's should work.

Fasttech sells drip tip orings for cheap, you put them around the 510 of the tank that is having problems.

If you have a tank/dripper that keeps giving you the damaged atomizer message then try throwing an oring, from a drip tip that you don't plan on using, over the 510 then reset your mod and reattach your atty. Should be problem solved

Does it work for tanks with shorter 510 connections too or just longer ones?

Generally the problem arises because the pin in your atty pushes the pin in the mod down too far. Maybe in your case the pin doesn't look long but the threaded portion of your connection is actually the culprit. It's worth a try either way. It only takes about 2 min to see if it solves anything. If it dont then what's 2 min wasted?

It just works for tanks with 510's that are too long. All the o-ring(s) do is not let you screw in the tank as far and still be stable. I don't know of anything you can do to get a tank to work on a mod if the 510 is too short. The o-ring trick would just make that situation worse.

The thing is you shouldn't have both problems. One or the other I could see, but not both. Something doesn't sound right about the 510 in the mod. Do those tanks work in the VT133? If so, I would send it back or in for repair. Just my 2 cents.

Cheers,
Steve

Sounds good. I got some 510 drip tips I don't use, I'll try throwing an oring on my RDAs and see if that fixes it. Would be awesome if it does

yup they work great with the VT133. I brought both mods to work the past few days. hohmtech tried saying its the RDAs fault as far as they can tell but I can ship it to have them check it out. I have another G2 on the way. I'm gonna test it with that one and if i don't have issues i'll send it in for repair. If i do have issues on that one as well, I guess i'll chalk it up to a quirk of the box

I only have to use the drip tip oring with 2 of my Horizontech tanks, all my other tanks work fine. If you are having problems with a lot of tanks even after you reset the ohms by pressing the fire button a few times with no atomizer attached then it might need to go back for warranty work. I had that problem with my first G2 but after 3 days and screwing on a lot of tanks the problem went away and has been fine for over 3 months so far.

Works fine with my TFV4 tank, is iffy with my aeronaut rda (clone), tsunami 24 RDA, and So horney RDA (clone). I have like 5 other RDAs/Tanks i could test with but didn't see a need to

Just a thought. If they are designed for use with a hybrid mech in mind and don't have adjustable pins then that may be the problem. From my limited experience, hybrid RDAs usually always have a slightly extended 510 to protect against shorts. The only thing I've had a problem with was my derringer and this clone was definitely made for a hybrid. Everything else was perfect.

Dang, not to be a killjoy, but your screen is very crooked. I'm actually about to adjust mine this weekend. I figure it can't be that hard to reset the adhesive if that's what's being used to keep the screen in place. Mine is not as drastic as tours though.

Anyone else with a crooked screen?

Edit: just catching up a few pages behind. It appears others have the crooked screen as well. I will report back on my attempt to fix the issue when I get around to it.

All 3 of my refurbs are straight. The red on the bottom might look a little off in the pic but that is probably my slight camera angle. Tough to click all the buttons to get the screen up and position camera fast

Not only are they an American company but they are doing some real out of the box thinking and innovations. Really great to see.

Ditto! I do as well!

As for Hohm, they are an American company indeed, just wished their manufacturing in China had a bit more QC.

I'm perfectly happy and satisfied with my G2 at the price that I got mine for months ago, but at full price...I'm sorry its unacceptable, American or not.

My 2 cents.

All that said, the FSK chip is quite magical at what it does in xxx mode. I absolutely love the vape experience I get :)

Agreed, but at ecig.com with a coupon code it's under $70. That's gotta qualify it as one of the best bang for the buck mods out there.
