Have you installed the new update? my battery performance has really improved with the last update, I too would replace my batteries around 35% when running hot. Just the other day I got down to 08% running hot with the latest update, suprised me.
After you get into the menu hit it 3x again and it will go to the presets or digital wattage mode.
Click the mode button 3 times, then click the mode button 3 times again, keep doing that until you get to the screen you want.

on my series unregulated and ipv5 I normally last a day with just one pair of batteries. I now go two pairs.

Agreed, acording to the HT chart the FSK Curve on Kanthal should be pretty low. Hey, whatever works for you is what you should use.

Yep, that's true. It's been my experience that if you don't like the FSK board you probably never owned one and if you did, you probably didn't take the time to learn how to work the mod properly.

Yeah I should have pointed out that I only use SS. I never ever use Kanthal. So I am definitely not the guy to speculate on what curve works with kanthal.
Tbh after the update I stopped using xxx mode. I only use the presets now. They did a great job on the presets with this update. SS mode is just dead on balls accurate now.
Come to think of it in xxx mode I have turned it up a bit. I have been using the SS TC modes a lot more often so I didn't think about it in xxx mode until you mentioned it.
I rarely use xxx mode but on the 1 build I needed it for, I updated and didn't have to change it from the 16% I was using and didn't notice any difference personally
The SS preset even works on dual SS Claptons 8)

Im not really worried about upping the wattage but I do want to increase the low end wattage...increase the wattage available to resistances under .08 Ohms...I would love a regulated mod capable of firing a TRUE 150w @ .05 Ohms...

it looks like the DNA250 might be capable of it, but not sure if it would require lipo's to do that or if it could be set up with multiple 18650s to do that. I'm guessing if it could, it would probably need 4. 2 sets in series each running parallel maybe? with 30 amp batteries?
