Yeah, I gotta admit when it comes to mods lately I've been on a quality kick. Sick of hearing about all these fucking Chinese shit boxes and people getting ripped off with poor support. Even when these companies do offer support it takes forever. Fucking Evolv has had my VT133 since the 11th. No update, no hey man we're working on it, no nothing. On Myvaporium.net people are going crazy because their Aliens are falling apart. I had a Coolfire die after 6 months and Innokin's response was sorry you're out of warranty. Suprisngly my RX200 has held up but even on that the 510 gets a little wonky once in a while. When it comes to mods I'm sticking with companies like Vape Forward, Vaporshark and Hohmtech for future purchases. It may cost a little more in the short term but in the long term it just makes life easier. I do love that new Yihi mod but damn that things expensive. Lol.

I completely agree. Love my DNA stuff, but after getting my first G2 about a month ago, I now have 2 G2's and a Slice with a second Slice due to be delivered this weekend. I am really impressed with the simplicity of the FSK board. Not a lot of fiddling with the normal SS coils I use. Just set the material, temp and wattage and it works as advertised. Definitely prefer the quality of the better devices over the cheaper, lower quality china devices, although I tend to group the China made DNA devices way above the standard offering from China.

Yeah, I am with you on, quality counts. I have never had a Yihi mod before, this is the first one that might get me to jump though.
I had an SX Mini M Class. It was built like a beast. Heavy fucker and pure quality. My only reservation with Yihi as a mod builder is I have no idea if their warranty service is any good but I never heard of any SX owner ever having a problem. Take from that what you like. I'll still probably wind up buying it after the initial rush is over.

I am of the opinion that once you experience an FSK board and the level of customer interaction HT strives for you will see that all these DNA Fan boys are just full of shit. Talk to them and the DNA is the end all do all. Don't get me wrong I own 6 DNAS and I love them all but it's not the only board that does a great job with TC as many here would have you believe. Just as an example, one fanboy on another thread is bragging that he got his RMA in 48 hours. Lmfao. If HT made me wait 48 hours to give me permission to send my mod in I'd be furious. Oh well, I guess Trump was right. Perception is reality. Lol.

I love the red one I have but the next one is gonna be silver. I want to experience all the extra power it has. ;):)

I wanted the Black or Silver the most. They didn't have them in stock :/ I couldn't find a sleeve for this, but if it gets pretty dinged up.. I'm gonna take it to work and sandblast it and have a silver one anyways :p

The red and orange look similar in certain lights. I have both

Richard, have you noticed any fading of the red on your G2? I can see what looks like a bit of fade on the battery door on mine right where the palm of my hand would be when holding it. It's not too bad but was wondering if anyone else has experienced this.

Yup I noticed the same fading on the red one. Haven't noticed on the orange yet. My blue has a wrap on it

I don't think escribe works on anything below maybe the 75. I know it doesn't support the DNA 40 I have.

Escribe works with the DNA 25 (I think), 60, 75, 200, 250.

Escribe allows a degree of control and provides a degree of info not available with most other devices - FSK included. That does not necessarily make it better. I does make it a bit more fiddly to get there.

Dna does allow more control and give more detail for sure. But it's harder and less convenient to program and lacks tc for kenthal NiChrome and custom mixes so both have their good and bad. I'm glad to have both but for most people just starting off with temp control I find the fsk to be a better recommendation. Easier to use no pc needed cheaper and more power for a dual 18650 mod. But I do love both. Can't wait for a 167 mod. Buying this week with a black Friday sale. The finder or therion 167

You can input curves for Nichrome and Kanthal... Just don't know how accurate it'd be...

I wonder what the efficiency is on the G2?
I'm not much into exact measurements, I like to vape not count.
When I use the VT133, a pair of 30Qs lasts me just about 2 days.
When I use the G2, the same batteries last just about a day.
I'm doing the same thing, same place, same tanks, same coils, etc. The possibility of me vaping lots more or less is slim.

Maybe its the brown paper bag I put the G2 into. If only it weren't so... square.

Anyway, anyone have any info on the efficiency?

98.8% efficiency on the G2
also remember it has a 171watt preheat and onboard rom which takes power and doesn't have a sleep mode like the DNA does to conserve power

Have you done the latest update that came out at the end of September? That update improved my battery life on the G2. I have no idea on the efficiency of the chip.

I tend to run my G2's pretty high but battery life has been good. I did have a VT133 but wound up selling it when I got a Triade. I really can't remember how it compared to the G2 based on battery life.

It sort of us a toss up, I am pretty sure the chip in the Slice is more efficient than the DNA 75. My Slice last longer and hits harder than my VT75 using rhe same batteries. I purpose build for the VT75, try and keep my builds at .35 or above to conserve battery life. I don't do the same for my Slice though but the other day the battery life was short running a .15 ohm coil, it only lasted the day running at 101 watts in xxx mode.

I would be interested in knowing the efficiency of the G2 chip as well if anyone has that info.

Start at 10% and work your way up. I usually set mine between 11-12. With the update the SS setting is really on point though.

Jacks recommendation is on point. Sort of depends on the style of wire. For a dual coil single strand 24 or 26g ss316l about 12.5% fsk is right in the ball park for me but I like a punch in my vape. For a thicker clapton, alien and what not it varies, I just adjust FSK until I get what I want.

Like jack said though the SS preset works good for a lot of SS, it just varies on user preference.

Whoa, custom 3D print? Nice! Get a DNA250 board already and light that sucker up.

Did you do it yourself? If so when can I buy a custom 3D printed enclosure for the G2 chip? I want it to be Alien size though with the 510 centered to accomadate 30mm tanks....mmmmm hmmmm

Here is the link https://www.shapeways.com/product/C...90x36x23-battery?optionId=57454251&li=ostatus

If I had a 3d printer and could borrow an Autocad license from work I'd make one for the g2. I'm sure someone has it in the works

As for the 250 it's coming. Have to up my atty arsenal first.

Just use ss mode imo. It's perfect. Save xxx for nife or mixtures

Escribe lets you view different data from your mod and to set certain parameters like adding a logo. It also allows you to set custom temperature curves for your wire and adjust the preheat power and duration. I don't know how people get excited about it, its boring AF and the coil temperature output is just a representation of the resistance of the wire against your set curve as it has no temperature sensing at the coil of course - so without a digital thermometer you are really running on guesswork same as any other mod. Not that its an issue if you like that sort of thing, its the vape that counts and if you like a bit of really boring software and own a digital thermometer more power to you - you can retune your vape (ever so slowly) to your hearts desire. FSK chip devices are way better in my opinion, you can easily vape it and adjust on the fly plus you get the benefit of being able to have an amount of control on any wire because it does not rely purely on the resistance of the wire for control. You can of course still point a digital thermometer at it....if thats your 'thing'.

I don't own either but I have been looking at both dna and fsk. My question is this...if everything is the same (resistance, preheat, temp and atomizer) would they not be equal? I know fsk can temp control kanthal so that being an exception.

Also unless I'm missing something the fsk only reads resistance change as well, right?

I am not technically chalenged but still not savvy enough to explain the ins and outs but I own several mods with both chips. For myself, I have decided the next mod will be with the FSK chip- aside from the Dotbox 300w. I have the Petri rta on the VS VF DNA133. I usually run it at 68w and 450 deg.F for the vape I like. The same atty on the G2 runs at 54w and 400 deg.F
The FSK chip is easier to make changes to on the fly, no need to be tethered to a computer.

No they have never said exactly what it reads I think he just called it 'ping' but it reads other stuff. Ping suggests it is a frequency, latency or attenuation measurement but whatever it is they use it to 'sense' a temp change of the wire. Then you can easily change your settings on the mod without the need for a computer being handy.
