The problem with the newest and most common designs (pretty much what’s in a local b&m) is they’re made for clouds. Sure, you can get okay flavor from most atomizers but if you want that thick, overwhelming flavor, you are going to have to search for it and build, rebuild, and rebuild until you can’t improve upon it any more for each atomizer.
Big coils with big wicks don't give better flavor...they simpley give MORE flavorings in your mouth..you are by definition vaporizing more juice and by so doing vaporizing more flavorings, with each drag... but that is not what flavor chasing is about. It is not the amount of flavorings that you chase, but the atties ability to bring out the notes and layers of a flavor...with simple juices this is not as big a deal as with more complex flavored juices...some atties are able to bring out more of the complexity of a flavor better than other, some wicks are able to bring them out better... the reasons I don't use cotton.Great post, very informative, but I just want to say I disagree with this part of it. I think the clouds vs flavor dichotomy is inherently flawed. The reason I say that is because flavor comes from the juice being vaporized. The more clouds, (with the proper air ratio) the denser your flavor will be. If you add more airflow to the chamber you will get bigger clouds, but sacrifice on flavor. If the air is at the perfect ratio though, the clouds coming from your attie will be so dense that the flavor becomes incredibly saturated.
It all depends on how you like to vape though. Yes of course if you like a room temp vape at 11w you will get better flavor from a tiny little chamber with a single coil. If you like a hot vape at 100w+, on the other hand, it's much harder to get from the tiny chamber atties. The newer atties coming out are only poor for flavor if you try to tootle-puff with them. If you build them right and run them at higher wattages, you will get flavor that can put the tootle-puffer atties to shame, imo.
I just think the whole cloud chasers vs flavor chasers thing is stupid. I think a better way to put it would be cool vape vs hot vape. Then your comment makes sense. If your statement would have been "The problem with the newest and most common designs (pretty much what’s in a local b&m) is they’re made for a warmer vape at higher wattages." then I would have completely agreed.
Earlier in this thread OP said that he likes alot of airflow. If he wants alot of airflow as well as great flavor then I think one of the newer "cloud chaser" atties will be his best bet. If builds and wicks it right, then runs at higher wattages, he should be able to get awesome flavor.

I never said anything about big coils. I pretty much exclusively use 26g N80 parallel builds these days, far from being big coils.Big coils with big wicks don't give better flavor...they simpley give MORE flavorings in your mouth..you are by definition vaporizing more juice and by so doing vaporizing more flavorings, with each drag... but that is not what flavor chasing is about. It is not the amount of flavorings that you chase, but the atties ability to bring out the notes and layers of a flavor...with simple juices this is not as big a deal as with more complex flavored juices...some atties are able to bring out more of the complexity of a flavor better than other, some wicks are able to bring them out better... the reasons I don't use cotton.
I have spent a long time flavor chasing and I have some observations I’d like to share.
It’s not so much a tiny chamber/chimney/airflow as much as it is a proper ratio between the airflow and chamber size. Also, some juices demonstrate nuances at higher temperatures. I have bought every Kayfun and other small chamber devices totaling around 50 atomizers. I’ve tried MTL, multiple coils, mesh, and other various wicks.
I learned to begin using one juice exclusively to give me a like-for-like comparison of atomizers. I also use the same wicking material between them so I can truly compare the atomizers with no other variables.
I did micro coils, claptons, SS316L, kanthal, etc., until I found the metal I liked most and stuck with the one that gave me no undertones (again, consistency.)
Then, I began testing. I loved the Ubertoot, the Rose V3, the Vaponaute Le Mirage (France), and oddly the Wotofo Serpent Mini and Serpent SMM. I have been on the side of buying newer products but 99% of the good atomizers are still readily available through FT even if they’re no longer in production through the original manufacturer. The wearable items like o-rings and screws are off the shelf items so that’s really not a reason to only buy the newest designs.
Having said all that, there is one product that’s been released in the last year which is hands down some of the best flavor I’ve experienced, easily in my top 3 favorites. That’s the E-Apothecary Churchill. It goes against every fundamental rule for flavor chasing. It gets amazing flavor with dual 4mm coils made from 22-24g wire because it ends up with a tiny chamber once it’s built. It also has the option of getting a restricted lung hit or wot depending on your airflow preference. I’ve also never had a dry hit. It’s incredibly simple to build on and the design is superb.
The best flavor you’ll find is likely going to be in an older design within your specific budget and they’re not the easiest to build on, small juice capacity, but these are sacrifices we make in the name of flavor. For me, I don’t care if I ever see a cloud if the flavor is good.
Great suggestions guys. Something to keep in mind for my next order. My next order will probably be the drop, kensei, the dead rabbit 22, and possibly the wasp nano or something older if i can find a good one that was recommended here thats not discontinued or a clone.
I ended up sticking with my original order
Dead rabbit 24, wotofo bravo designed by (i think army) veteran arron hart, tigertek springer s screwless post rta, and the fireluke by freemax subohm tank with rta/rba option. Once they arrive i will try a couple different builds and let everyone know what i think.
I just got the geekvape gbox dual 18650 regulated squonk. I have my hadaly with a staggered fused clapton 26gx32g build in it wicked with cellucotton 100% (not the rayon version). When it performs, it performs well. Pretty good flavor but i think i should try it with a simple build. The box mod isnt reading my coil accurately. It keeps going back and forth between .49, .50, .52, and .55. It also keeps asking me if its a new coil, as well as keeps saying no coil. Not too happy about this. I checked my leads and they are all tight, no part of the coil is touching anything else, im not too sure why its acting up. Sucks because i do like the mod if it didnt keep acting up.
Uh-oh you got bit by the bug! It only gets worse...So i ordered quite a few attys. Wasp nano, dead rabbit, tigertek morphe rda and stinger rta, wotofo bravo rta, wotofo smm, obs engine nano, freemax fireluke, and shortly before i started this thread i got the cleito exo. Exo has great flavor, fireluke is pretty damn good, bravo is pretty good so far but only one build in it so can't judge too much, stinger s i jus got in today but with only one build and i think i put too much cotton kinda hard to judge but seems like it will be good, dead rabbit is good with the one build i put in it and its nice. Gota put some builds in them and spend some more time with them to really tell. Im really looking forward to the others i havent got in yet, i think those will prob be the best. Pretty impressed with the fireluke predmade coil too. I also got the rba's for my baby beast and big baby beast. Yea...i went a little crazy the last couple weeks. Also have the ravage230 coming in. Got a ton of different ss and ni80 wire as well
Oh i know, ive got bit awhile ago. I started vaping about 14-15months ago, this is jus my biggest purchases in the shortest amount of time. I got some gift cards for xmas n my bday a couple weeks ago, so i did some online shopping cause the shops in my area kinda suck. Not much for rebuildables and almost everything is crazy over priced. Can pretty much only find the basic (shit that sells the most units) shit around here. Sub ohm tanks and the most common mods. If i go about an hour north i have a bit better of a selection, and little bit better pricing, but still not a hell of a lot. I have about 25 attys with 4 more on the way, about 10 mods with one more on the way, about 15 rolls of wire, and ive prob bought 55-60 bottles of juice lol. Im jus starting to get into diy juice but have only tried like 2 or 3 of the 7-8 flavors i got.Uh-oh you got bit by the bug! It only gets worse...
I love my pharaoh rta...it really depends on types of coil....i used double core 28g fused clapton...n90...7/8 loops..57 ohms at 40 watts....clouds and flavor....wowALL my old attys have better flavor than anything on the market today.
I pricked holes in the NRG coils cos otherwise i was getting 1 or 2 days out of themHow do you like the revenger mod? Did you get it with the nrg tank? I like it, but it seems like w the ngr tank and other premade coils it burns them out soooo fast. None of my other mods eat through coils like this one. I dont think i had a coil in thr ngr tank last 2 days. I only put rebuildables on it now and it works great for those
I've not tried them yet but I loved the ones for the Veco tankThe NRG ceramic coils have lasted longer here than the regular ones. They do have a lower wattage range which might be an issue for some.
Ya its crazy how quick they go. Even with the smok baby coils in them they were going to shit real quick. I usually poke holes in them after a few days maybe a week in the baby beast. I jus gave up on the nrg tank. Figured if its going to burn thru coils that fast its not worth it. Especially since the flavor is no better than the baby beast. I do want to try those ceramic coils tho. Lower wattage doesnt bother me. I dont care what wattage im vaping at. As long as i get good flavor the numbers dont mean a damn thing to me....except how long or short my battery will last lolI pricked holes in the NRG coils cos otherwise i was getting 1 or 2 days out of them
I tend to get longer out of cleito coils or the firelukeYa its crazy how quick they go. Even with the smok baby coils in them they were going to shit real quick. I jus recently got both of these tanks. Well the cleito exo, not the orignal or the 120, but comes with 1 exo coil that makes it 2ml so its tds complaint, and one original clieto coil to make it 4ml. The exo coils lasted about 2-3 weeks vaping a lot. Wasnt the only one i was using so hard to tell exactly how long, but i had a lot of fills through it. I also just got the rba deck for it which is awesome. Especially with the exo because its top air flow so gives it great flavor and damn near impossible to make it leak even if its under wicked. The fiireluke, i havent had it long enough to go through a coil with it, but i have prob 7-10 fills through it and its been a great tank so far. Cant wait to try the rba that came with it. If its as good as the premade (which i dont see why it wouldnt be), ill be pretty happy. Both great tanksI tend to get longer out of cleito coils or the fireluke
I haven't tried the Fireluke RBA yet but the 120 RBA and also original cleito make them my favourite tanks. I use bubble glass with both for more capacityI jus recently got both of these tanks. I was up in the air between the 120 and the exo, i never had the original. Im honestly not sure what made me get the exo over the 120. I think i may have been because a shop i was in at the time had the exo but not the 120. I read reviews on both for awhile before buying them, didnt come across any negatives for either. I think i came across a couple reviews where ppl said they tried both and thought the exo had better flavor. Also w the top air flow, its damn near impossible to leak which is a huge plus. I hate leaky tanks, even if its just aftet refilling. Sooo many tanks leak. Its almost inevitable for bottom airflow to leak at some point, and i just cant stand that.I haven't tried the Fireluke RBA yet but the 120 RBA and also original cleito make them my favourite tanks. There's plenty of good recommendations for good flavor rtas and other type of attys. All the rtas i mentioned are great. Are they the best? Idk, i havent tried every rta, but all the ones i have are really good. I also really like tanks that have separate rba decks because you can build when you want to or throw in a prebuilt when dont feel like building or need something quick. All the tanks i have with rba's, the premades are really good and so are the rba's.
I'm here cause I want a good flavor atty too. More toward rta or tank but interesting read
I don't know if the Brit Beast had an extension glass cos went under the Radar that tankI was up in the air between the 120 and the exo, i never had the original. Companies need to do more about keeping them from leaking, and ppl need to stop buying tanks that leak so it doesn make companies think its ok to sell leaky tanks like its just something we have to deal with/put up with. its just not ok to sell leaky tanks, in my eyes anyways lol
I havent had any bubble glass until i got the bravo, and boy is it a huge added bonus. Now i have 3 tanks with bubble glass, and bubble rba glass otw for the big baby beast. I ordered 2 rba decks, one for the bb and one for the bbb. I dont think the bb rba will be bubble, but i did get two for the bbb so that ill have a spare, and since the decks come with glass and im putting one deck on the bbb and one on the bb, ill have a spare rba glass for each.
I love my bb. I havent tried the bbb since i bought the tpriv used and wasnt expecting it to come w the tank, but it had no drip tip with it so i havent used the bbb yet. I havent used a rba for the bb so im excited to try it. When the decks come in, it will be like having two new tanks lol. I have 2 bb so ill keep one w the rba and one w the premades. I also have the brit beast that came with the 80w osub plus with takes bb coils. Thats a great tank too, but the rba glass wont work with it, they dont make one for it, and i havent been able to find any info on glass that will work for the brit beast with rba deck.
I second the plus spirals tank. It's definitely a flavor tankThere's plenty of good recommendations for good flavor rtas and other type of attys. All the rtas i mentioned are great. All the tanks i have with rba's, the premades are really good and so are the rba's.
If you like a more restrictive draw with low wattage, the spirals plus is a great flavor tank that comes with a couple coils as well as a rba. I use it for testing my diy juice
The tfv4 and tfv4 mini are awesome. The double and triple coil decks are really good too. Ive tried a couple dif premade coils for them and all the rba's for it and have never been disappointed. Ive used the shit out of the triple coil rba deck with the coils that came installed and they are still going strong. 3 mini little spaced claptons, great flavor from them. Eventhough theres 3 coils, it takes hardly any cotton to wick all of them. I prob use less in all three than wicking one coil in the dead rabbit lol. Can find the tank and decks really cheap.
The wotofo bravo gives really good flavor too and its not expensive at all, can be found almost everywhere online, and comes in some pretty cool colors w nice drips tips. The coils that come with it are nice coils for freebies, they do have a few hot spots, but as long as you work them out before you wick you're good to go
Yea they can get expensive. A lot of decent-good rtas can be found for 30-40bucks, which i dont think is too bad for what you get from them, and the extras they come with.@Jadidaskv thanks. Its been awhile since I havent bought a clearance tank lol. Forgot how expensive they can get. Think ill get a decent rta and a mod that comes with a good tank or rda. Maybe ill finally get myself a squonker
The Reload is expensive but it was well worth it. It's hands down my favourite RTA. Took ages to find it in stock but the only other RTA that has matched it in flavor for me is the Kayfun V5Yea they can get expensive. A lot of decent-good rtas can be found for 30-40bucks, which i dont think is too bad for what you get from them, and the extras they come with.
The geekvape gbox i thought was a good buy. Dual battery regulated squonk. Comes with the radar rda. I have put a build in the radar yet cause i have a few other rdas i wanted to try on regulated squonks before trying the radar. Ive had it for a couple weeks and still havent put all my bf rdas on it yet, and i gota couple more on the way lol. I have read up on it and it seems to be a decent rda. Gota pretty cool deck that looks real easy to build on.
I think i picked up my tfv4 mini for like 10-11bucks. One of the rba heads was like .60 lol, the others only a fee bucks. I dont care much for the single coil rba, and i usually like single coil devices more, but the double and triple coil rbas for it are great. The spirals plus cans be found for 20-25. Rba comes with it. Definitely more restrictive than i usually go for, but a great little flavor tank.
Once i get my other rtas in (should be tomorrow) and spend a little more time with the ones i jus got, ill have a little more feedback/advice. The springer s rta is coming around real well. At first didnt care much for it, but i wicked it pretty heavy, but now its starting to come around nicely. Think the bravo is still better. Cant wait to get my wotofo smm and obs engine nano. The obs engine series are supposed to be great rtas, and they can be found fairly cheap now
Cremedevape have a few kayfunsYa i really want to try the reload. I just have a hard time trying to justify spending 70+ on it. I bought the hadaly and thr kryten for like 65-75 each, and honestly, as i really dont think they are worth it. Especially the kryten. The hadaly has great flavor, but i get better flavor from 20-40$ devices. The kryten, the flavor from that kinda sucks compared to pretty much everything else i have. Ya its not made to be a flavor rda, but i didnt think it could suck as much as it does lol. Id love to find an original kayfun 5 or taifun v3, but all i can find for those are clones. I can't find originals of any of the older flavor attys. Pretty much anything over 18mnts-2years is discontinued with tons of clones made. I don't get why companies discontinue devices so soon. Especially when they are really well known good devices.
Oh sweet. Ill have to check them out. Thanks for the heads up.
So i got some vape mail today. Wasp nano, obs engine nano, tigertek morphe, wotofo smm, the ravage230 mod, and a few other little things like drip tips and glass.
My v8 baby rba's didnt come, pretty pissed about that since when i made the order it said they were in stock and would be shipped at the same time as everything else. Then weeks later (coming from china) when the order gets to new york i get an email saying the order may be delayed due to items not being in stock. Well it didnt delay the shipping, but the rba decks weren't in the package, which was the main reason i placed the order with them, i jus got everything else since i was making the order and everything else was in stock as well.
Anyways, im very happy with the rta's and rda's. All of them are very flavorful. Couldnt be happier with these devices. I really like the mod too. This is probably the best order with the best devices so far. I may have some better devices, but there is not one device that is below expectations. Probably even better than expected. Id highly recommended any of these devices. The wasp nano, for less than $13, holy $#!+ is this thing amazing. Even if it was 40-50 id say its worth it. Thing pumps out some great flavor.
I loaded everything with the coils that come with wotofo tanks. They are some awesome coils. They got a few hot spots and take a few mins to work them out, but im more than happy with them, especially for free coils lol. They are even better than the medusa aliens, staggered fused claptons, and regular claptons that i bought. Haha. Id even pay for these wotofo coils that come with the devices eventhough every single one of them had hot spots to work out, once you get them ready to go they are fantastic coils. I wish i knew what they were so i could build them
The Reload RTA is still the only RTA that I find to be worth getting (I have the black and the stainless). I own multiple dozens of other atomizers, but each and every last one of 'em is an RDA because of the so so flavor I get from any RTA in comparison excepting only the Reload RTA.The best flavor I have gotten is from The Reload RTA.....

Yeah I definitely regret selling my Narda.A matter of personal taste. I have a Dead Rabbit too.
Is good but nothing exceptional.
In a few months it will have fallen by the wayside.
Some of the best actual flavor attys are some of the old ones.
Narda and such from the olden days of vaping have yet to be beaten for flavor.
The Rabbit has to be wicked with Cotton bacon and a fast ramping Stainless steel 316 coil 3mm in diameter.....Yeah I definitely regret selling my Narda.
Yep I used 3mm ss316L and cotton bacon. The Rabbit has to be wicked with Cotton bacon and a fast ramping Stainless steel 316 coil 3mm in diameter.....
I wicked it with 6 different sizes and 4 different wick materials..... And the height of the coil..... Also important..
When wicked correctly it's amazing....
You want the best the get a Reload..... A legit not a clone...
